Libby was convicted in 2007 of obstruction of justice and other crimes related to a leak of the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. The conviction was widely viewed as a miscarriage of justice, especially because Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage later admitted that he was the likely source of the leak, not Libby. President George W. Bush commuted Libby’s sentence, but despite the urging of then-Vice President Cheney, he declined to issue a formal pardon for his aide.
It was only Trump who pardoned Libby in 2018, taking the political heat for doing so and standing up for Libby’s record of public service.

Lawmakers from both parties are set to introduce bills that could break Google’s stranglehold on the advertising business and start to chip away at Big Tech monopolies, The Post has learned.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) is set to introduce a bill within weeks that would bar Google and other large tech firms from controlling multiple parts of the online ad supply chain. And while Lee’s bill appears to be aimed squarely at Google, it could also affect Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta, which makes the bulk of its revenue from advertising.

The United States, China and North Korea are among only six countries that allow abortion on demand throughout the entirety of pregnancy, according to research comparing America to the rest of the world. When you are a leftwing media figure, you are essentially bulletproof. Things that would get Republicans fired in the blink of an eye are tolerated as long as they are mouthed by a loyal Democrat, and one repeated beneficiary of that reality has been Whoopi Goldberg. The longtime co-host of The View on ABC has stepped in it, for lack of a better phrase, many times. Lockdowns in the U.S. and Europe had little or no impact in reducing deaths from COVID-19, according to a new analysis by researchers at Johns Hopkins University. The lockdowns during the early phase of the pandemic in 2020 reduced COVID mortality by about 0.2%, found the broad review of multiple scientific studies. “We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality,” the researchers wrote. The vaccines are 95% effective at preventing infection ? Breakthrough infections everywhere.
The vaccinated can’t spread COVID (“Get vaccinated to protect grandma”) ? The vaxxed are as infectious as the naive unvaccinated and significantly more infectious than recovered unvaccinated. The vaxxed can become superspreaders like Typhoid Mary, because they are equally or more infectious, but with suppressed symptoms.
After getting fully vaccinated, you’ll be done for good ? Boosters are required, because the vaccine provides some protection for only a few months and only against a specific variant.

The green agenda often backfires when governments embrace it either as a means of placating militant environmentalists or as a half-assed attempt to take a shortcut to some sort of utopian future where evil petrochemicals are no longer being used. We see plenty of examples of the former, where Americans are paying far more at the gas pump because Biden shut down the Keystone Pipeline and is hobbling domestic oil and gas production, and where Germans are shivering and electricity prices are soaring because coal and nuclear power plants have been shut down.
But the latter path also carries disaster in its wake, as Sri Lanka has discovered.

These days, the Biden White House talks a lot about the border. At press briefings, there are many questions about the border. But it's the Russia-Ukraine border. Meanwhile, the situation on the U.S.-Mexico border is deteriorating daily.
Two new developments. One, we are learning more about the administration's covert effort to relocate thousands of illegal border-crossers — single, adult males, not families — into the nation's interior. We'll talk about that today. And tomorrow, the second development — new information about the changing makeup of the thousands of people crossing the border illegally each month.
First, the relocation effort.

“I want to thank Spotify for being so supportive during this time and I’m very sorry that this is happening to them and that they’re taking so much heat from it,” Rogan said Sunday. He also apologized to Young and Mitchell.

White House officials have grown so frustrated with top health official Xavier Becerra as the pandemic rages on that they have openly mused about who might be better in the job, although political considerations have stopped them from taking steps to replace him, officials involved in the discussions said. Top White House officials have had an uneasy relationship with Becerra, the health and human services secretary, since early in President Biden’s term. But their dissatisfaction has escalated in recent months as the omicron variant has sickened millions of Americans in a fifth pandemic wave amid confusing and sometimes conflicting messages

Spotify will be adding content advisories to podcast episodes in an effort to combat misinformation about COVID-19, the company’s chief executive officer, Daniel Ek has announced.
In a blog post published on Jan. 30, the Swedish audio streaming service said it was “working to add a content advisory to any podcast episode that includes a discussion about COVID-19.”
The planned advisory comes shortly after Spotify removed Neil Young’s music from the site when the singer accused podcaster Joe Rogan of spreading false information about coronavirus vaccines and “potentially causing death.”
After giving the company an ultimatum between getting rid of Rogan, who hosts Spotify’s top-rated podcast, or him,

Vice President Kamala Harris came within yards of a pipe bomb during last year’s US Capitol riot–and was inside the Democratic National Committee building for about two hours before the device was discovered, according to a new report. Several sources told CNN that Harris drove just a short distance away from the explosive, which was lying next to a bench outside the DNC on Jan. 6, 2021. Her motorcade pulled into the headquarters garage about 11:30 a.m. and stopped at the parking deck near where the bomb was later discovered, according to the network. It has previously been reported that Harris was inside the DNC headquarters

Although the mainstream media is utterly silent about it, something very big has been happening in Canada. (snip) A reporter in Ottawa talks to a woman named Gina who explains that she came to Canada 25 years ago. By her accent, it’s apparent that she grew up in Eastern Europe, and by her age, it’s clear that she grew up when Eastern Europe was under Soviet control. She understands totalitarianism firsthand. Gina gently chides the reporter, telling him to report honestly about the thousands of people who gathered to greet the convoy as it entered Ottawa. She then points out that these are people who want life without a mask

A 'Freedom Convoy' of trucks joined by thousands of demonstrators brought Ottawa to a virtual standstill for a second day on Sunday as they protested Canada's vaccine mandates, as other sympathetic truckers blocked a border highway into the United States.
The truckers say there is no 'end date' in sight and plan to stay in the capital 'for as long as it takes' and until the Canadian government flips and withdraws its policy on vaccine mandates.
The chaos clogged the capital's downtown near parliament throughout the weekend and brought criticism from officials, including Ottawa's mayor who said residents were 'prisoners in their own home.'

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. recently came under fire for referencing the Holocaust in a speech he gave on January 23rd at the Defeat the Mandates March in D.C. After being slammed and shamed by his fellow travelers on the left -- including his liberal wife Cheryl Hines who called his comments “reprehensible and insensitive” -- Kennedy was forced into multiple apologies.
But what did he actually say that was so offensive? Like the boy who shouted that the emperor had no clothes, he exposed the Biden administration for its pernicious COVID policies -- and, in the process, risked losing everything

Well, it turns out things haven't gone so good for wokester company, Penzey's Spices, which ran a 'Republicans are racist' campaign for .. I am not sure what purpose, it wasn't business.
According to Fox News:
A Wisconsin-based spice company that made headlines earlier this month when its CEO sent an email to customers accusing Republicans of racism is now asking people to buy gift cards after hemorrhaging tens of thousands of customers.
Earlier this month, Penzeys Spices CEO Bill Penzey renamed the extended Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend to be "Republicans are racist weekend" in a newsletter to customers.

A disturbing video comes from Ottawa, Canada where an alleged agent provocateur was confronted by truckers who were there to protest the vaccine mandate and lockdowns. A man can be seen hiding his face as he attempted to distort the appearance of the freedom movement in Canada. He was quickly pointed out as a provocateur and told to leave.
The only person with face-covering during Freedom Convoy is a FED trademark according to social media users in U.S. and Canada.

The United States is under attack from within; internationally via George Soros, the United Nations, and the World Economic Forum in Devos, Switzerland. The Biden administration has removed all of former President Donald J. Trump’s successful immigration policies in addition to stopping “the wall” from being completed. All of the international players are funding the invasion of millions of illegals from around the world, pressuring banks and corporations to move to ESG scores. When adding in the massive number of VISAS and the Marxist indoctrination taking place in the U.S. education system, the day of reconning is at hand.

Biden’s energy policy helps Putin and hurts the US.President Trump’s economist Steve Moore shared on the Biden economic nightmare. The Biden Administration’s energy policy is “completely upside down,” which is not only an economic issue but a national security one as well, former Trump economist Steve Moore said on Sunday. Speaking on “The Cats Roundtable” radio show on WABC 770 AM hosted by John Catsimatidis, Moore said what is so frustrating is “the fact that we have oil at near $90 a barrel now is all the more reason we should be producing more of it. We are down two million barrels a day

Since LBJ created the so-called War on Poverty, the countless trillions spent on an endless array of government programs have not merely failed to improve the societal ills they were supposedly designed to address. By most measures, they have made them worse. But liberals never learn. Their solution to societal problems continues to be to spend—or to use their euphemism, "invest"—yet more money—or to use another of their euphemisms, "resources." And thus it was that on his MSNBC show this morning, Jonathan Capehart gave Democrat Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot a platform to talk about her latest spending spree ostensibly intended to solve the city's crime wave.

Just two weeks after a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based spice company held a “Republicans are Racist” sale over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, it is dealing with a massive loss of business and openly begging for new customers.
Penzey’s Spices CEO Bill Penzey, who routinely uses his company’s email list to send anti-Republican screeds, sent a newsletter earlier this month in which he accused GOP voters of fantasizing about killing African Americans.

Mexican cartels are making billions of dollars from drug trafficking, human smuggling, and exploiting the U.S. border, said Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas).
Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 1.3 million illegal immigrants crossing into Texas from Mexico in 2021. Hundreds of thousands more weren’t captured. Seizures of the deadly synthetic opioid, fentanyl, have sharply increased, as have overdose deaths in the United States.
“We have 100,000 Americans die from opioid poisonings. They’re not really overdoses—they’re poisonings,” Roy told NTD’s Capitol Report on Jan. 28.

For the major media, 2022 didn’t bring much good news after a rough 2021. Americans’ trust in both the traditional media and alternative media continued to decline in the new year, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
The I&I/TIPP Media Trust Indexes show continued weakening in early January in the public’s perception of the media, continuing a disturbing recent trend.
The Traditional Media Index, which includes such major legacy media as the Washington Post, New York Times, NPR and CBS, among others, fell to 40.2 in January from 43.3 in the final month of 2021, a 7% decline. January’s reading was the second-lowest since the index was created last March.

On Friday, Joe Biden started yelling in anger during a speech in Pennsylvania while talking about the high price of insulin.
“Imagine being the parent making the minimum wage or twice the minimum wage and having a child with type one diabetes, knowing that if you can’t and have no insurance, knowing if you cannot get that money for the insulin, the child may die,” Biden said. (Snip)
Make no mistake about it: Joe Biden isn’t angry about the high cost of insulin. Why not? Because he is responsible for it.
On his first day in office, Biden froze a Trump drug policy that had been finalized in December 2020,

Biden isn’t even pretending that anything other than race and sex are the most important metrics for his Supreme Court choice. And of course, the usual RINOs couldn’t agree more with quotas for the Supreme Court. Perhaps these out-of-touch politicians would do well to pay attention to the American people, though, because Americans think it’s a terrible idea to make intellectual qualifications the least important thing.
Lindsey Graham, a man of tremendous charm and no backbone, has already surrendered on the issue. When he heard that J. Michelle Childs, a U.S. District Court Judge from South Carolina, was on the short list, Graham couldn’t have been more excited.

President Joe Biden has pledged to nominate the first black woman to the Supreme Court, but he seems to have forgotten about the time he filibustered a black woman judge’s nomination to America’s second-highest court for two years.Way back in 2003 through 2005, when Joe Biden was still a Democrat senator from Delaware, President George W. Bush nominated Janice Rogers Brown to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, but due to her conservative views, Joe Biden and the Democrats filibustered her nomination, blocking a final vote on her confirmation. Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s fascination with and support of Canadians gathered in Ottawa to protest vaccine mandates continued over the week.
Musk first took to Twitter Jan. 27 and praised truckers en route to the nation’s capital. They are opposed to a federal vaccine mandate that requires them to be innoculated before they can return to Canada after a trip to the United States, which has similar regulations.
After two days of demonstrations, desecration of the National War Memorial and the Terry Fox statue and general gridlock caused by tractor-trailers parked throughout the city, Musk returned to Twitter to offer praise.

James "Snakehead" Carville, the loathsome but successful Democrat operative who gave us Bill Clinton in 1992, had a few words for Democrats on their failing fortunes.
Speaking with leftist Vox, he generally warned that Democrats had better do what he did when their party was in disarray and falling apart 25 years ago -- scrap the crazed leftwingery and tack center.
What's more, they'd better focus on electing more Democrats, if they want to get what they want, rather than bullying the ones they've got now (although he made an exception for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona). He even defended Joe Manchin

Joe Biden began his presidency with a promise to advance equity, which means favoring some races and ethnicities over others to shrink outcome disparities. Like many of his fellow liberal Democrats, Biden is tethered to the belief that black upward mobility won’t happen without coddling and special treatment from the government. Donald Trump’s record complicates such claims.
One of the most underreported stories of the Trump presidency is the extent to which black economic fortunes improved. The mainstream media presented Trump daily as a bigot whose policies would harm the interests of racial and ethnic minorities. Meanwhile, black economic advancement occurred to an extent unseen

A growing number of public health experts have recommended that the Biden administration update its COVID-19 strategy. It is increasingly obvious that an approach based on the President’s pledge to “shut down the virus” will fail. The emerging consensus among epidemiologists is that elimination of the virus is unlikely and that it will probably evolve into an endemic malady, like influenza, that circulates in the population at a relatively manageable level. This consensus has been largely ignored by the Biden administration because updating its approach to COVID-19 would mean relinquishing the political power associated with the perpetual “public health emergency,” and replacing several incompetent public health advisors.

The Oregon Court of Appeals has overturned a $135,000 fine imposed on a bakery that refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple in 2013.
The court upheld the 2017 ruling against Aaron and Melissa Klein, who owned a bakery called Sweetcakes by Melissa, but scrapped the fine.
Local station KOIN reports:
In an opinion released Wednesday, Jan. 26, the court upheld its original 2017 decision against the couple — Aaron and Melissa Klein, then doing business as Sweetcakes by Melissa — based on a 2015 determination by the Bureau of Labor and Industries that they violated Oregon’s 2007 law barring discrimination based on sexual orientation.
