Italian police have detained two men accused of involvement in a series of sexual assaults during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Milan. Abdallah Bouguedra, 21, and Abdelrahman Ahmed Mahmoud Ibrahim, 18, are accused of “serious sexual assault accompanied by the robbery of mobile phones and handbags”, Milan’s acting prosecutor, Riccardo Targetti said. The pair have been held in custody as there is a “concrete danger” of them trying to escape, given the serious allegations against them, Targetti added.

A federal grand jury returned the indictment Thursday charging Mosby on federal charges of perjury and making false mortgage applications, relating to the purchases of two vacation homes in Florida.
According to the four-count indictment, on May 26, 2020, and Dec. 29, 2020, Mosby submitted "457(b) Coronavirus-Related Distribution Requests" for one-time withdrawals of $40,000 and $50,000, respectively, from the city of Baltimore's Deferred Compensation Plans.

Researchers from Oregon State University announced that certain compounds with cannabis are able to block the virus responsible for COVID-19 from penetrating human cells.
The study, led by Richard van Breemen of Oregon State's Global Hemp Innovation Center, College of Pharmacy, and Linus Pauling Institute, was published Monday in the Journal of Natural Products.
A pair of cannabinoid acids were found to bond with the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and block a vital part of the process that allows the virus to infect people, van Breemen said.
"We identified several cannabinoid ligands and ranked them by affinity to the spike protein," van Breemen said.

The Chicago Teachers Union accepted a deal to continue in-person learning at city schools, following a five-day teacher walkout protesting the district’s Covid policies.
