Prince Andrew was stripped of his military and royal titles Thursday — a day after a Manhattan judge allowed the sexual assault lawsuit against the disgraced royal to move forward.“With The Queen’s approval and agreement, The Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen,” Buckingham Palace said of the 61-year-old prince.A royal source confirmed that Andrew would no longer use the title “His Royal Highness” in any official capacity and his other roles would be distributed among other members of the royal family.

Years ago I wrote a regular newspaper column apart from my regular "day job.". One column was written as a satirical "open letter to Queen Elizabeth." I sympathized with her undoubted embarrasment at the some of the antics of the royal family. I therefore offered myself up for adoption, if I could bring my wife and kids with me. I assured her we would take all necessary classes in royal decorum and etiquette, and that I did not mind starting off as a an earl or such and working my way up to prince. Alas, she was not one of our readers, so I heard nothing back. But in hindsight, how much she needed a boring, risk-averse prince to attend all the ribbon cuttings and opening days at Ascot and never take trips on the Lolita Express. The lottery of birth unfortunately is not always fair. From America to you, Your Magesty. Good move. He doesn't deserve your support.

And after Elizabeth is gone, I'll bet that brainless Charles or his son will restore Andy's perks.

He's lucky. Queen Elizabeth I would have stripped him of his head. She visited that on her 1st cousin, once removed, Mary, Queen of Scots. But that was for treason. So I guess Andrew can keep the big head.

With Andrew "dishonorably discharged" from his various royal sinecures, accused of having "disgusting" sex thrice with a 17-yesr-old girl, beginning in 2001, his future would appear to be cloudy. Her Royal Highness the Queen can only put up with so much. The case is being tried in an American court, where the freshest ex-royal has the presumption of innocence.
Of course, presumption of innocence is for courtroom juries, not necessarily the public at large. While I believe that a defendant is entitled to certain rights as a defendant, those rights don't include the mindless acceptance, outside the courtroom, of the alleged innocence of someone everyone knows is guilty. Randy Andy used to be a bad, bad royal. Now he's merely bad, bad. He shouldn't have gone where he went. Can you imagine how he'd do in an American prison?

Back in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s he was known worldwide as “Randy Andy”. His mother knows that he’s guilty just as the rest of us do. I hope that she ends his allowance too.

She's a lovely woman, far more loyal and of service to her nation than most people know.
I am sorry she has to endure this.
May G-d bless the Queen.

I am frankly surprised at the howling mob here on Lucianne proclaiming a man guilty before he is even tried. Have we forgotten the Kavanaugh Affair so quickly? Do Process is not hair-styling.

The Queen is not stupid. She is protecting the royal assets to pass on to other family members. The Queen's other three children and their kids would gladly accept Andy's holdings. She can pass it all on to Prince William to deal with.

#14 you are absolutely correct. Any judgement awarded by a US court would have to be collected in the UK or any other location Andrew has assets. Recently Andrew sold a multimillion dollar estate in Switzerland. It was reported he sold it to raise money to pay for his legal bills because the Queen won’t. But I suspect the real reason was to bring the cash back to Britain so the estate couldn’t be seized in Switzerland. Andrew and the Queen are making it appear Andrew is broke because they know the UK courts will never allow the Queen’s property to be seized.

I wonder if the prince will be the one to squeal on the others. Why should he take the hit for Epstein alone? Will be interesting to see what come out of his court case.

I'm no fan of Andrew by a long shot. However, it is unfair that he's the one being hounded while Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Alan Dershowitz and a host of other wealthy prominent men have so far skated. I'm probably in the minority, but I also don't consider that Virginia Roberts Guiffre was an innocent naif at the age of 17. She not only had been trafficked by an man before Epstein, she also recruited her friends to join Epstein's stable of underage prostitutes. Her current "crusade" smacks of someone looking for a second payday like she got when she settled with Epstein years ago. The whole situation is sordid, and no one in it comes out looking good - Prince Andrew who diddled teenage girls, and Virginia Roberts Guiffre who was a worldly prostitute at 17.

Well, I doubt it, #5! Charles is well known to be quite fed up with lazy Andrew for quite a few years. Andy is Mummy’s favorite so we all know how that goes in a family. lol
The brand of the Monarchy, saving the Firm is all this decision is about for Queen Elizabeth for she has never seemed bothered about the gross immorality in the family for quite a few years. Much will change once she passes and needs to as well.

#19, if Andrew is her favorite that doesn’t speak well for her, especially since Harry is supposedly her favorite grandchild.

His Royal Highness is (or was) Andrew's "style", not his title. His title is Prince of York.
