Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Thursday called for the lessons of the Jan. 6, 2021, to be heeded as Washington observes the anniversary of the unprecedented Capitol attack, warning that "democracy is fragile."
"We ignore the lessons of January 6 at our own peril. Democracy is fragile; it cannot survive without leaders of integrity and character who care more about the strength of our Republic than about winning the next election," Romney said in a statement.
"I said last year that the best way we can show respect for voters who are upset is by telling them the truth," he added.

Commercials take up 27% of commercial television screen time and are the main source of income for TV and radio stations. (snip) In the United States today, the White population (not including Hispanics) is 57.8%. In real life Caucasians are still in the majority, but now on TV and the Internet they are swept under the rug like trash. Blacks compose 14% of the U.S. population but appear in 50% of commercials. (snip) if a White person appears in a commercial, he/she is usually old, sick, a freak, or at the very least, an appendage to a Black partner. (snip) Caucasian young men appear in only 4% of the commercials!

In a letter to the president, the speaker wrote, "Indeed, this past year has been historic: with the life-saving American Rescue Plan, once-in-a-century Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and, soon, the truly transformational Build Back Better Act! In that spirit, I am writing to invite you to address a Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday, March 1, to share your vision of the State of the Union."

Transgender University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas was crushed in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing fifth, after being beaten by another transgender swimmer who is transitioning from female to male. Earlier, Thomas won the first of four races by just two seconds—one month after she shattered two women's records with a 38-second margin against her closest competitor. She also narrowly won the 500m freestyle by just a second, with bystanders telling DailyMail.com she was 'coasting' and seemed to be 'barely trying'.(Snip)Henig, who is transitioning from female to male, also finished first in the earlier 50-yard freestyle, smashing records. Hospitalizations of U.S. children under 5 with COVID-19 soared in recent weeks to their highest level since the pandemic began, according to government data released Friday on the only age group not yet eligible for the vaccine.
The worrisome trend in children too young to be vaccinated underscores the need for older kids and adults to get their shots to help protect those around them, said Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Since mid-December, with the highly contagious omicron variant spreading furiously around the country, the hospitalization rate in these youngest kids has surged to more than 4 in 100,000 children, up from 2.5 per 100,000.

The liberal wing of the Supreme Court embarrassed itself Friday with a slew of false claims about COVID-19 during oral arguments over Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates.
For example, Justice Stephen Breyer claimed hospitals are at capacity because of unvaccinated Americans with COVID. This is false. But perhaps the most ridiculous false claim from a Supreme Court justice came from Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who falsely claimed that 100,000 children are in “serious condition” from COVID.
“We have hospitals that are almost at full capacity with people severely ill on ventilators. We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition, and many on ventilators,” Sotomayor claimed.

According to a report, Democrats are so desperate to eliminate the Senate filibuster — which would enable the Democrats, who control the Senate, to pass legislation regarding voting that would be highly favorable to them— that two former presidents and celebrity Oprah Winfrey have contacted Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), who is considered the pivotal vote in the Senate, to pressure him into accepting the filibuster’s demise.Former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have joined Winfrey in the cooperative effort to persuade Manchin, according to Politico.“Manchin has told colleagues that his phone line has been lighting up with prominent names outside the Senate in recent days.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg appeared with Rev. Al Sharpton Saturday at the National Action Network Rally in New York to talk about his plans to reduce incarceration through lowered prison sentences and fewer arrests.
"We said we were going to marry fairness and safety, and we laid out a specific plan," Bragg declared. "We put it on the website. We put it in print. And this week, after Jan. 1, we got down to work, and we are doing what we said we would do."

While Democrats are attempting to make the most of their congressional majorities, it is widely anticipated Republicans will have a strong showing in November and win back control of the U.S. House of Representatives.According to Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL), Republicans should consider using their leadership powers, including potential House Judiciary chairmanship for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), to possibly impeach President Joe Biden and investigate if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) played any role in the lax security at the U.S. Capitol in the lead-up to the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot.

A man in black bloc behaving suspiciously near a right-wing rally outside the Pinellas County Courthouse in Florida on Jan. 6 was apprehended by deputies after he tried fleeing on foot. Garrett James Smith, 22, was arrested and found carrying an active pipe bomb, Antifa propaganda and a written document on what to bring for his direct action. He had recently returned from Portland, Ore. Smith was purportedly targeting dozens of the attendees of a rally protesting the treatment of Jan. 6 suspects on the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Capitol riot.

Starting this month, third-party payment vendors will report $600 in total annual transitions to the IRS. That’s not every transaction of $600 or more. That’s if you do more than $600 worth of business with any of them over the course of an entire year.
Vendors will also need to see your tax information, comrades.
PayPal, Venmo, and others are acting in compliance with the American Rescue Plan Act, passed by Democrats on a strict party-line vote in both houses, and signed into law last year by Presidentish Joe Biden.
Are you feeling rescued yet? PayPal told users:
You may notice that in the coming months we will ask you for your tax information

Gotta make sure those welfare checks arrive on time! That's the bedrock of America. Lots of mixed messaging here. Postal workers are more important than doctors or police or military and thus should not have to take the shots, which at the same time are perfectly safe and convenient and vital to stop the spread, even though they do nothing at all to halt the dread "omnicron" variant and little to stop the others after only 3 months.
