Hospitalizations skyrocket in kids too
young for COVID shots

Original Article

Hospitalizations of U.S. children under 5 with COVID-19 soared in recent weeks to their highest level since the pandemic began, according to government data released Friday on the only age group not yet eligible for the vaccine. The worrisome trend in children too young to be vaccinated underscores the need for older kids and adults to get their shots to help protect those around them, said Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Since mid-December, with the highly contagious omicron variant spreading furiously around the country, the hospitalization rate in these youngest kids has surged to more than 4 in 100,000 children, up from 2.5 per 100,000.

Comments:

Garbage headline of the week, the takeaway being that COVID is raging out of control in preschool children. Point #1: "Skyrocket". Cases up from 2.5 to 4 per 100,000 is not exactly my definition of skyrocket during the current omicron surge. More importantly, Point #2, buried in the article: “Most of the COVID+ kids in the hospital are actually not here for COVID-19 disease, they are here for other issues but happen to have tested positive.”

Fake news. Even the Great Fauxi said most of the children were not hospitalized because of WuFlu but instead found out they had it only after seeking medical attention for some other issue: “It is noteworthy, however, that many children are hospitalized with [COVID-19] as opposed to because of [COVID-19],” Anthony Fauci said during a press briefing last week.

Here's the 13th paragraph: “Most of the COVID+ kids in the hospital are actually not here for COVID-19 disease,” McGuire said in an email. “They are here for other issues but happen to have tested positive.” With this science, if hospitals asked new patients if they'd eaten potatoes within the previous 24 hours, the CDC would ban them.

I have long contended that if the Press actually was not biased and did its job reporting, Biden would not be President, OAC would not be gallivanting, Sotomyer would be recognized as the "wise Latinix" she is, Swalwell would CERTAINLY, along with Schiff, still not be on the Intel committee, etc. Just basic down the line straight reporting: not opinions, not burying the lead, or not reporting on an issue at all. Most of my avid Democratic friends are clueless as they rely on the Nets and MSNBC et al. I have the same amount of contempt for 95% of straight news organizations and reporters as I am beginning to have for 90% of the teachers in the Union.

Both of my grandchildren have had covid. The older one had the Delta variant in August when he was 17 months old. He ran a fever for a few hours and that was it. The younger one has just recovered from the Omicron (Xi) variant and is 5 months old. She had sniffles and diarrhea for 3 days. That’s it. The only treatment they got was Tylenol and Pedialyte.

Having to press back against the lie-repeated-until-it-becomes-true, "with the highly contagious omicron variant"... you mean "with the highly contagious, mild symptomed omicron variant". The second part was never in question, but the easy-to-transmit part kept getting hyped, while the mild effects part somehow got dropped from all the media reports. Just not scary enough if we are reminded of the milder effects...

Some believe teaching people how to recognize false information and stop them from becoming radicalized in the first place is the best strategy. Methods developed from these partnerships include teaching students about democratic values, providing mental health and job counseling, and educating youths on how radicalization works. CORRECTIONS*

In their imaginations, it goes something like this: With passions inflamed by a moral renaissance in the North regarding the institution of slavery in the South, the two sides decided to go to war over the issue. In the end, the evil South was righteously razed by the armies of the North, and thus, slavery was ended, and the former slaves made American citizens, as Abraham Lincoln intended.
