Every time Harris tries to help herself, she hurts herself. As border czar who for three months avoided visiting the Mexican border, Harris relented only after plans were made known of former President Donald Trump and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott traveling to the frontier – and then she briefly visited only a border patrol station about nine miles from the actual border, far removed from where masses of illegal migrants have been crossing.

A long-overdue legislative enactment and signing provides an occasion for two equally long overdue observations on an I&I editorial regarding “pesky climate models.”
Citing a study on pre-carbon dioxide concentration Arctic Ocean warming, your friendly neighborhood editorialists concluded, “(W)e’re confident that eventually the (climate alarmists’) story will collapse.”

Last week the White House warned the unvaccinated that “you’re looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families.” President Joe Biden followed up in today’s news conference with a similar though less-shrill message, even adding that Americans could “safely celebrate the holidays with” family and friends only if vaccinated. Apparently, the administration has been consulting with the ghost of Jack Kevorkian.
Just in time for Christmas, the ghoulish Biden executive branch has cranked up a climate of fear that in the blue regions has been overheating for months.

A particular line from our Thursday editorial reminded us of something we’ve been seeing for some time now: claims by the media that Republicans in general and Donald Trump in specific are authoritarians. It’s a truly malignant form of psychological projection. The comment referenced in our observation that dissent is no longer the highest form of patriotism that struck us is from Northeastern University journalism professor and public radio panelist Dan Kennedy. He said, with zero supporting evidence, that the Republican Party “has embraced authoritarianism and voter suppression.” CORRECTION*
Remember how, when Donald Trump was president, writing bogus attack pieces and talking endlessly about how he stole the 2016 election were all good for the country. Because, you know, dissent is the highest form of patriotism.
Now, reporting undisputed facts that happen to be unflattering to the current president poses a grave threat to the survival of the nation. That’s what journalists are saying.
