Bruce Springsteen selling his music to Sony for a half-billion dollars has gotten me thinking about my music and what I might get for the songs I wrote when my radio show was touring the country, such as my song for Milwaukee (“Where men still wear hats they look rather sporty in/And children still take lessons on the accordion”) and one in Idaho (“People move here from New York and New Joisy/To get away from the frantic, the noisy,/For the simple pleasures of Boise”)

Communists are all for private property when it’s their property and they think they can get something for it.
He probably uses electricity and petroleum and products he couldn’t have without petroleum.
BTW a communist is someone who wants to agitate the masses in order to topple an order that is functional so that he can impose tyranny. Under that definition this guy’s a useful idiot.

What a coincidence...I've got a new blues song for Bruce too:
The Chicken Cordon Blues
Found a new ding on my Mercedes,
my yacht mortgage is coming due,
Whole Foods just ran out of baby arugula,
got those Chicken Cordon Blues,
ohhhh yeahhhhh...

Gary Keillor is trying to say 'Don't forget MEEE. I'm smart.'
My friends and colleagues at NPR didn't shaft me over Pound Me Too.

Comrade Keillor is jealous of Comrade's Springsteen's enormous wealth. HAHA. And a reminder: Keillor was fired for inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace. BTW Keillor went to NYC because he thought he was a national celebrity. He soon found out he was nobody in the Big Apple and returned to St. Paul to lick his wounded ego.

Since you are both flaming liberal, self-appointed gurus of life in America, I wouldn't give either one of you a nickel for your entire collections of rhyming trash.

He's still alive? Who knew? Trying to figure out what it is he wants to say is way down my list of priorities at the moment. To be honest, I never liked that tone of voice he always uses on his NPR show either. Used to give me a major case of the creepy crawlies.

I vowed years ago to never, ever read anything that Keillor wrote. I'll keep to that vow.

Who EVER gave a damn about Keillor's political leanings? I didn't then or now and I don't remember his ever using his show to promote his politics. But his was a show which embraced small town American life, ordinary music, and kindly poked fun at ordinary people and their foibles. If we ever expect the left to get off their high horse pulpits and remember what being an American means then WE will have to do the same. Castigating Keillor for his who-gives-a-damn politics but forgetting what he DID bring to our hearts makes us little better than the leftist twits we despise.

I've never understood the appeal of Springfallsummerwinter.
From what I've heard of his music - - he really stinks.

I have to agree with #13. I never saw any talent in Springsteen, and never like his songs. An occasional interesting line of lyric doesn't make good songs or a career.
