My name is Brandon. Brandon Brown, to be specific. Yes, that Brandon.
I am Brandon, the NASCAR driver and unlikely meme. A 28-year-old who now finds himself in the middle of the American political conversation. As a pro driver, I never expected to be in the passenger seat of my own viral moment.
On October 2, I won the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega—my first major win. It was a hell of a moment for me, my family, my team and my sponsors. It's cliché, but it is a moment I had dreamt about my entire life.

I thought it might be interesting to hear what the real Brandon thinks about the demented husk of a swamp rat "Brandon" in the White House.
It turned out that what the real Brandon thinks is very confusing and not at all interesting.

Nice article… But, the poor guy, the fact that he is afraid to speak out because he thinks he will be canceled, tells us all we need to know! It tells us how very true is the situation that surrounds this whole incident. The old illegitimate, lying, demented, utterly inept president. The original chant, and then the lies of the main stream media to offset what everyone knows was being said.

I like Reply No. 1 am from Illinois. My take on this article is a bit different. Brandon Brown will win no prize for his writing skills. While I agree that Brandon's writing is not particularly interesting, I am heartened by his taking the time to say one thing that loudly rings true -- like Big Ben in London: The political elites of this country, whether Dem or GOP, are not listening to the concerns of the rand-and-file taxpayers. It is time they do.

I was a little curious as to how he was dealing with the notoriety. I can see he felt the need to say something and was reluctant to put his hand in the fire. That was pretty well written.
I still say, loudly and proudly, F! J! B!

Many a talented driver, especially in these media soaked times, is spending his time selling insurance, fixing someone else's cars or racing his own car in amateur races a few weekends a year. Even with talent, it is very difficult get a career as a pro driver "off the ground", and keep it going.
The possibility of getting a budding career as a pro driver, which COULD mean fulfilling lifetime dreams of racing the best drivers, with the best cars, and making a good, perhaps even spectacularly remunerative living STEPPED ON by sponsors who are pro-Biden or, if you say things the wrong way, even anti-Biden, is very real.
This young man is tiptoeing through a political minefield where the slightest misstep could blow a giant hole in his career, or just end it entirely. Frankly, he did a pretty good job with this piece. It's not likely to anger anyone, and just might get him a bit better known, a critical thing in his business.
My sympathy to the young man, caught in the middle of this maelstrom, through absolutely no fault of his own. Best wishes Brandon.....hope you avoid all the mines, keep your sponsors and win some races.

NBC had another on-the-air outbreak last night during interviews after the Sunday night football game...and it wasn't "Let's go Brandon!" Crude and rude, like our President. Gotta love it!!

Totally get what Brandon Brown is saying. The cancel culture is very real, and it is in NASCAR. Kyle Larson anyone? Larson foolishly dropped an n-bomb in the middle of a televised video game. He lost his sponsors and his ride. Fortunately, he was back a year later with a different owner and new sponsors. He became NASCAR champion.
If Brandon Brown gets canceled, he likely won't be as lucky as Kyle Larson. He doesn't want to be prominent in the news and politics. He just wants to get on with his life. He says he will be saying more in the future. Hopefully he will be free to say what he thinks and have the courage to say it.
Let's see if we start seeing more articles from Brandon Brown.

Let us not forget that it was Kelli Stavast who launched the "Let's Go, Brandon!" meme with her misguided attempt to distract viewers from the profanity (FJB) that was going out over the national airways during her post-race interview with Brown. Given how woke both NBC and the NASCAR leadership has become in recent years and the impact her comment has had on the national political discourse, I'm surprised Stavast still has a job.

To those who complain about the statement,The guy Can’t say anything If he does he would lose sponsorship and probably his career in auto racing. He would become toxic to those who don’t even watch NASCAR but they would see to it that his career is over. It’s not right bit we have weak company leaders who cave to leftists so until that changes, he’s best off to keep his thoughts to himself, how disgusting is that?

As he said, if he loses sponsers he cant race.
Too bad the professional sports, like the NBA and football didnt understand this.
The NBA might as well decamp and move to China, so far as I'm concerned. And until those bad actors turn their backs on their Chinese masters, I do NOT consider them Americans.

In a quiet, subtle way, Brandon said, "I hear you America, and I'm on your side." Keep burning those fossil fuels, good fella. And keep winning.

I would have preferred that he had immediately told Kelli Stavast: "They're not saying Let's go Brandon." He meekly and weakly went along with her BS.

Given that the whole meme started thanks to an idiot infobabe denying the real meaning of what the crowd was actually saying, I have no guilt over this. I think it is funny, and certainly making a point to the Swamp.

If he had any balls at all,Brandon should have told that female interviewer when he won that Race, was that is not what the crowd was saying. He should have corrected her and looked in the camera and say F,J,BIDEN. Is what they are saying.least that's what I would have done.

My advice, shut up and drive. Enjoy the free publicity. Many uninformed sports, hollywood and entertainment figures could not resist spouting their political opinions in public. Most are sorry that they did. Many simply revealed how stupid they are. No matter which side you choose it will be the wrong one.

Brandon knows damn well what the crowd was yelling that afternoon, because he turned and smiled at the crowd and the reporter. The initial look on his face when the reporter said, "They're chanting your name, Let's go Brandon" was priceless. It was a combination of confusion, and you're an idiot at the same time while smiling. It only lasted a second, then he played along with the reporter knowing damn well the crowd wasn't yelling Let's go Brandon.

Hes a race car driver, and apparently a pretty good one. He's not a literary scholar and doesn't pretend to be one. I'm betting he wrote that himself, without help from publicists or woke college kids. Good for him. I named my wi-fi network after him.
I do feel bad for the little reporterette who called the chant wrong. Shes going to get needled about that for the rest of her life. Hee Hee.

Winning Talledega once doesn't necessarily translate into winning anywhere else, even at another super speedway track, or ever winning again at Talledega. One late race "Big One" changes everything. He needs to service his sponsors, do public appearances, sell merch. plus promote Nascar itself. Attendance/viewers have plummeted in recent years. Not because of COVID(nascar was the 1st sport to make a comeback, then blew it with rebel flag bans and the fake noose/BLM stuff) but because of the "new cars", cookie cutter/all the same tracks, changed points system, and racing formats. There are few drivers that become "Household names" anymore, no Petty's no Earnharts, Mark Martin's, Dick Trickles....not even Gordons.
He is savvy to try to solidify the "Connection" for name recognition alone.
Nascar used to pull superbowl sized audience every single Sunday of the season, and it's fans SPENT more money than any other sports fans.
In '96 a couple of the drivers put Dole stickers on their cars, small ones. We tried to work out a deal where Mark Martin, who was having a birthday, becoming the oldest driver ever, driving in his final season...would carry a Dole sticker on his right rear bumper, and have the "turn signal" above it(actually just sticker) have a blinking light or reflector so it looked like he drove the whole race with his turn signal on...for a right turn(ALL track turns are Left turns, as was the Clinton campaign) The "Earned media", and coverage would have been immense, the incar cameras behind him would have showed it no matter where in the pack he was, the announcers constantly talking about it, his name, his history, his record of accomplishments...the humor of the self effacing "Old Man" joke that both he and Dole were pulling on everybody. Unfortunately it never got done.

It's not about him.
It is about how the press has been lying to the public and spreading misinformation. The covington kids, Joosy Smollett, Trump impeachment, Russia collusion, Covid contagion theatre, Mostly peaceful riots, ''oh, but Rittenhouse crossed state lines with an AR-15'', etc. etc. lie-after-lie-after-lie-after-lie. And they are still so dense that they don't get it.
Everyone knew what the crowd was chanting, yet the News-Idiot that was interviewing him saw fit to lie about what was being chanted, despite everyone knowing otherwise. She didn't fool anyone, but just made herself into a parody. FJBLTB

Used to love NASCAR, but it's dead to me now, I lost interest back when restrictor plates came in, and it has been all downhill since, especially after they tried to shift from actual racing into "racing" with cookie-cutter cars and a focus on personality. Well, there ain't no personalities no mo in NASCAR, as we see here. Ain't a Curtis Turner in the bunch.
