There are very few issues out there that seem to send progressives right over the edge harder than abortion.
The primary talking point, in the wake of the Biden administration’s dismal failure in Afghanistan, is that the Texas pro-life law is exactly the same type of Sharia law the Taliban imposes on women in Afghanistan. This is mind-bogglingly ignorant rhetoric that we cannot let pass.
First of all, how extremely Islamophobic of the left to attack the religious beliefs of those of the Islamic faith. The same group that accused the Trump administration of being xenophobic and racist for implementing a ban of travelers from majority-Muslim countries

The $100 million construction project to halt the sinking and tilting of a downtown San Francisco luxury skyscraper has been suspended as the high-rise continues to sink and tilt. Work had begun in May to drill down hundreds of feet to stabilize the 58-story Millennium Tower. But engineers suspended the operation last week to assess why the building had sunk another inch during construction, NBC Bay Area News reported. The tower, which opened in 2009, had been tilting slightly more than 17 inches at the top at the time work began and sinking had slowed. But by mid-August, the building's

Holland, Mich.—A Michigan restaurant owner who flouted COVID-19 restrictions and spent four nights in jail in March said she plans to reopen in a few weeks. The food license yanked from Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria in Holland has been restored, Marlena Pavlos-Hackney said. “I’m grateful, but my fight isn’t finished yet,” Pavlos-Hackney said, referring to an appeal of earlier court decisions that landed her behind bars. Pavlos-Hackney became the face of defiance over enforcement of virus-related restrictions. She continued to welcome indoor diners, despite state and local orders, and ignored other rules aimed at controlling the spread of COVID-19.

A remarkable one in five President Joe Biden voters said they regret voting for the 78-year-old in the last presidential election, according to the latest Zogby poll released on Friday.
The Zogby poll was taken before Kabul, Afghanistan, was conquered by the Taliban jihadist organization, and Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal turned deadly, killing 13 U.S. services members and injuring more.
There was also 76 percent of the respondents who said “no” they do not regret their vote, and four percent said they were “unsure.”
However, while the 20 percent do not specify if they would have voted for former President Donald Trump.

President Joe Biden signed an executive order Friday that ordered a review of the classified documents related to the 9/11 terror attacks - with the promise of releasing more information to the public. Biden had been told by nearly 1,800 Americans impacted by the terror attacks last month - including victims' family members, first responders and survivors - not to come to any of the 20th anniversary events unless he declassified documents that potentially show Saudi government links to the September 11, 2001 hijackers. The order makes no mention of Saudi Arabia.

A New Orleans 911 operator deliberately disconnected emergency calls without obtaining necessary information or relaying the callers' emergencies to other dispatchers, and she is now facing arrest, according to authorities.
Precious Stephens, 25, is wanted on a count of malfeasance in office, and she remained at large Thursday, police said. She has been fired from her job as a 911 operator, officials said. Stephens worked for the Orleans Parish Communication District, which dispatches first responders to 911 calls. Joe Biden came into office inheriting the war in Afghanistan. But unlike previous presidents, he inherited a war that was relatively quiescent by Afghanistan standards, involved few American troops on the ground, and was in a phaseout due to an agreement his predecessor had struck with the Afghan government and the Taliban. Under that deal, the U.S. would remove its troops by May 1, 2021, if the Taliban and Afghan government met certain conditions.
Biden has played both sides of the Trump deal, both arguing that it tied his hands and that he would have sought a similar deal himself. This, plus Biden’s campaign to overturn as many Trump policies

A viral TikTok trend claims to educate women who believe they are attracted to men but have only been socially conditioned into thinking they are heterosexual. Compulsory heterosexuality, colloquially known as ‘comphet’, is a term used to describe the belief that Western culture has coerced women into trying to view all connections between men and women as sexual or romantic. The argument is all women have been conditioned from childhood to view any feelings they have towards men as attraction—with some authors even going so far as to say all females are actually lesbian by nature. This sign of American decadence and stupidity in Afghanistan cannot be improved on. The Spectator columnist Cockburn reports on America’s attempt to turn a nation of medieval goat herders and Islamic hillbillies into penis-possessors and vulva-havers suitable for campus life at some of America’s more elite colleges. Excerpts:
So, alongside the billions for bombs went hundreds of millions for gender studies in Afghanistan. According to US government reports, $787 million was spent on gender programs in Afghanistan, but that substantially understates the actual total, since gender goals were folded into practically every undertaking America made in the country.

Joe Biden’s presidency is collapsing. That’s been my supposition for the last several weeks of chaos most starkly illustrated by what happened in Afghanistan, where Americans still remain abandoned and 13 US service members were murdered.
It’s not just foreign policy, though. Inflation woes have only worsened while COVID deaths are now higher today than they were at this time last year when Donald Trump was president. We were promised a return of competency, normalcy, and an end to the pandemic. What we got was the current mix of ineptitude, predictable as it may have been given the Washington establishment’s prior track record.

Back in June President Trump joined the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show and mentioned to the hosts that he thought former football great Herschel Walker will enter the US Senate race in Georgia as a Republican.Herschel Walker is a conservative favorite and leads Marxist Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock in the 2022 race before he even announced his candidacy. But RINO Senators Mitch McConnell, John Thune and John Cornyn were hoping Walker wouldn’t run for some reason. They know he is a Trump Republican and they don’t want him in their elite club.

First hydroxychloroquine, now ivermectin, is the hated deadly drug de jour, castigated by the medical establishment and regulatory authorities. Both drugs have been around for a long time as FDA-approved prescription medications. Yet now we are told they are as deadly as arsenic. (snip) The Guardian describes ivermectin as horse medicine reminding readers considering taking the drug, “You are not a horse. You are not a cow”, saying it’s a medicine meant for farm animals. The FDA echoed that sentiment in a recent tweet, adding “Seriously, y’all. Stop it”, their word choice making it obvious who the tweet was directed to.

Presidents are cool.
Barack Obama was so cool he was dubbed “The Chosen One,” and the media, as he once said, got all “wee-weed up” whenever he delivered his poetic prose.
“Decider” George W. Bush handily defeated two Democrats — even though he was widely despised and mocked by the MSM — because he won another more important contest: Who would you rather have a beer with? More Americans preferred the one-time party boy over Al “Lock Box” Gore and John “Flip Flop” Kerry. Donald Trump enjoyed the same huge edge over Hillary “Cough Cough” Clinton.

Federal officials are investigating why McDonald’s McFlurry machines are always broken, a report says. The machines, which are used to also churn out the fast food chain’s milkshakes and ice cream cones, are so temperamental that even the company pokes fun at them. “We have a joke about our soft serve machine but are worried it won’t work,” McDonald’s tweeted last year.
Now the Federal Trade Commission is probing the situation and contacted franchise owners to get information on what is causing problems with the machines, according to The Wall Street Journal.(Snip)Owners of McDonald’s outlets have complained that the machines are complicated to maintain and to fix

New 'anti-racism' guidance has been shared 'for white people' working within the national health service in a blog post on an official NHS website.
The NHS Leadership Academy, which prepares staff to take steps into more senior roles within the organisation, shared guidance for employees including recommendations to read up on 'white privilege' and ready themselves for political discussions at work. In five new tips published by Aishnine Benjamin, the head of equality, diversity and inclusion at the Nursing and Midwifery Council, white members of staff are told they should not be defensive and that 'ignorance isn't an excuse.'

From Twitter to the Taliban, we are witnessing the death of American supremacy. Mere weeks ago, we did the unthinkable: With thousands of our citizens trapped in Afghanistan, the Biden administration asked the Taliban to extend our deadline for withdrawal. They said no. We said OK. The United States of America, capitulating to a medieval death cult. Our posture on the world stage is exemplified by our increasingly weak president, head in hands and bending before the White House press corps, unable to explain or defend this unmitigated disaster.

Things stopped working in this country about 50 years ago. But it wasn’t really noticeable until a few decades later. I like to date the beginning of the decay to the summer of 1969, though it’s impossible to put a precise date on it. Still, the summer of 1969 was an inflection point much more important than 1967’s “Summer of Love.”Consider: On July 20, 1969, Apollo XI landed on the moon and 39 minutes later, on July 21, Neil Armstrong became the first man to stand on its surface. A few weeks later, on the night of August 8, the Manson family broke into Roman Polanski’s Hollywood Hills home

A poll from the Public Policy Institute of California found that 58 percent of likely California voters oppose the recall effort against California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom.
This is compared to the 39 percent of likely California voters who are for the recall effort, wanting Newsom out of office. The 39 percent was heavily weighted on the Republicans.
Broken down by party identification, 82 percent of Republicans are for the effort, while only 17 percent oppose the Newsom recall. For the those who identify as Democrat, only 7 percent want to see Newsom recalled, and while an overwhelming majority (90 percent) oppose him being recalled.

There are two studies coming to be exact but Rochelle Walensky couldn’t resist talking them up in today’s briefing, which was devoted to keeping children safe. One of the most pressing mysteries since pediatric hospitals began filling up this summer is whether that surge was due to more kids getting infected by Delta, with the same share ending up in the hospital as before Delta arrived, or whether it was due to Delta being more virulent in children. If the new variant is making kids sicker, that means the average child is at greater risk of contracting a serious case this fall. And if that’s true, already anxious parents

The White House said on Thursday that ISIS-K continued to pose 'active' threats even as at least 100 Americans remain stranded in Afghanistan and the U.S. guards against the threat of terrorists using charter flights out of Kabul to launch an attack.During her regular briefing, President Biden's Press Secretary Jen Psaki said diplomatic efforts continued to rescue Americans left behind. But she raised fears that ISIS-K, the local offshoot of the Islamic State behind the suicide attack on Kabul airport last week that killed 13 Americans, remained a potent threat with ambitions to attack U.S. personnel on military bases outside Afghanistan.

I’ve often been hard on Sen. Joe Manchin and for good reason. Too often in the past, he’s presented himself as an unshakable moderate in order to keep his seat in deep-red West Virginia, while at the same time folding on major issues when he gets to Washington.
Yet, I have to give him credit. Under immense pressure from the far-left of his party, including the leadership in Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, Manchin appears to be stiffening his spine. I’m not saying to trust him just yet, but it’s a good sign.
Today, Manchin penned an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal
