The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers Wednesday about fake tickets and fake vaccination cards that are circulating ahead of this weekend's mega fest in Grant Park. (Snip) "Any type of buying vaccine cards, fake ones or manipulating your friends card is not acceptable and could put you in jail for providing false documentation," Bernas said. Chicago — Secretary of State Jesse White announced Wednesday that driver services facilities, Secretary of State offices and the Illinois State Capitol building will require all employees and customers to wear a mask beginning Aug. 2. The reinstatement of the mask requirement comes a day after the CDC reversed course on some masking guidelines, recommending that even vaccinated people return to wearing masks indoors in parts of the U.S. where COVID-19 is surging. White says the mandate will allow the facilities to remain open to serve the public to reduce the heavy customer volume caused by the COVID-19 pandemic over the last year.

The NFL has laid out its strongest incentive yet for players to get the vaccine. According to a memo shared on Twitter by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the league has mandated that a game cannot be rescheduled due to a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players — and that team will be forced to forfeit, resulting “in a loss for playoff seeding.” (Snip) Additionally, if a game is canceled and cannot be rescheduled, neither team’s players will be paid for the game. Vaccinated players who test positive can return to the team immediately after two negative tests, while unvaccinated players will be required to isolate for 10 days, according to the memo.

Perhaps it’s because I grew up surrounded by extraordinarily tough people, but I found myself singularly unmoved by the spectacle in the House on Tuesday, which reminded me of a bad mash-up of Dr. Phil, Oprah, and BLM-produced soap opera, rather than a legitimate inquiry into an event that Democrats have seized upon to consolidate their power by destroying their opposition. As sobbing congressmen and Capitol Police officers took turns talking about their psychic injuries, I was alternately embarrassed for them if they were really that weak, and frightened of them if they were that sociopathic as a pathway to power.
