People who read my posts about policing know that I’m pro-cop. They know that when police officers use force against people who are violating the law or refusing to follow reasonable instructions, I’m inclined to give the officers the benefit of the doubt, if there is doubt.
That’s how I view these cases whether the person shot by the police is a street criminal, an antifa thug, or a right-winger. The standards of conduct and the presumptions should be the same regardless of who has been shot.
However, there are, indeed, standards of conduct that apply, and police officers must be held accountable

Why don't the Republicans walk to that microphone and announce the name? Where is motor mouth Lindsey Graham? Where it turkey gobbler Mitch McConnell, the silent leader? Does anybody know where Kevin McCarthy is? I wonder if any of them would like to say something about Republican political prisoners being held in DC jails without bail, and without being convicted of anything? I would like to hear Mitch McConnell explain how that justice system works.

Step One is announcing the name.
Step Two is indictment for murder, with change of venue to Texas.

Regardless of why this clown murdered Ashli Babbitt, the message in the aftermath is crystal clear, and being sent by both parties: Interfere with the doings of the deep state, and you too may be murdered or held incommunicado without any real charges.
If Republicans cared to draw a distinction between themselves and their commie friends across the aisle, this would be the place to do it. Their silence speaks volumes.

There is a secret rule in government as well as in business that when an affirmative action hire messes up royally, he still gets to play the race card, the one that got him hired in the first place. The cardinal rule in any good shooting is that one or more lives must be in danger. Apparently the only life in danger was Ashli's, so Michael Leroy Byrd should be in jail awaiting trial right now.

"Who killed Ashli Babbitt, and why?"
Ask Nancy P. She likes having her praetorian guard. The National Guard will do too.

presumably it would have been ok to shoot all the protesters... and then for all the cops to go out on paid leave

MICHAEL BYRD the murderer! If everyone starts naming this asshat, sooner or later, they'll have to own up, or prove it's not him!

The LEO who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt was "not" in imminent danger. What the LEO did goes against all self defense training when one points a gun. If the individual who was killed was George Floyd, all hell would break loose. The same standard applies to the killing of Ashli Babbitt.

And now the unaccountable Capitol Police are going to expand beyond Washington, DC, beginning in Florida and California. Anyone else see a problem here?

#6, this is crap that Nancy is throwing out there. The Capital Police does NOT have jurisdiction anywhere but in the U.S. Capital. She is trying to take the attention away from the mess that she created on Jan 6. The Federal Government is using the intimidation to make people shut up about the disaster on that day. The only way to bring back sanity will be elections and audits of the prior elections. Have people go to jail that actually broke the law during election day.

I remember when a young black woman with a baby in her car was shot and killed by the capital police for making a wrong turn in DC. They were never held accountable nor did we ever find out who they were. Aren't they the ones who were in charge of the Vince Foster investigation? They are totally incompetent in every way.

She was shot for climbing through a smashed window. Her intentions were probably honorable but she made a very bad choice.
