Is J.D. Vance the right man
for the right?

J.D. Vance is the man Republicans have been praying for since the day Donald Trump stormed to the party’s presidential nomination five years ago. He has a lot of the traits conservatives liked about Trump: Vance, too, is a political outsider with proven appeal to an audience beyond politics, thanks to his bestselling memoir Hillbilly Elegy. Like Trump, Vance offers himself as an avatar for the people who have been discarded by globalization and demonized by a left-wing media and education establishment. And he is as radical as Trump — maybe more so — in his willingness to reject the merely liberal side of American conservatism. Trump defied elite orthodoxy

More navel-gazing from the “conservatives”. He doesn’t like Trump because of his noxious behavior..horrors! I doubt if J.D. Vance will do well except with wine-swilling, suburban women and pubbies like Mitt Romney.

Doesn't he say in his book that he voted for Hillary Clinton and not Obama!?

FTA:
Vance himself told NPR in August 2016 that he was thinking of voting for the independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin because ‘I can’t stomach Trump. I think that he’s noxious and is leading the white working class to a very dark place.’
For me....that makes this guy a non-starter. Full stop, no fixing it.

"The Spectator was established in 1828, and is the best-written and most influential magazine in Britain. In 2018, we launched our monthly global edition of the magazine, bringing to the rest of the world the same insight, original thought the British have enjoyed for 190 years. The overall media landscape was missing something — a publication filled with ideas and wit that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Clearly readers agree."

We remember who the #NeverTrumpers were around here. Some got fed up and left. But not all.

#1, if he's only going to do well with the same crowd that elected Rob Portman as their senator, looks like we'll be saying howdy-do to Sen. Vance.

Taxing endowments? Where does that fit? As long as government oversteps it's bounds to go after our political opposition it's OK? Isn't that at least in part the kind of thinking that we are trying to stop? Don't get me wrong, if there's a genuine breach of any legal statute that's fine. But using the power to tax as a political weapon is unacceptable.

Ever notice that when the headline is a question, the answer is almost universally...
"No".

Some people really don't want Trump, but the fact is Trump is in the driver's seat
Look what certain people did to this country to get rid of Trump. They used a pandemic to wreck the United States! They tried to impeach the President twice on false charges. These people are monstrous corrupt tyrants. The most important thing we need is someone that stands up for America and stands up to the lying media, the Communist Democrats, the backstabbing Republicans, and their foreign allies. If it would have been someone other than Trump, they would have withered under the assault.
Keep trying to find someone better than Trump! Doubt there is anyone out there.

I have found him to be insipid. Whoever we elect to undo the enormous damage Biden & Co are doing to every segment of our society and economy is going to need a spine of steel.
ONLY Trump has shown that fearlessness. I am one of those who wished he had had an editor who could articulate responses to the jerks and boobs out there who took advantage of every verbal salad and then remained unable to set the record straight (think Charleston).
Any candidate will face the same corrupt media, the liars, who helped get the old dolt Biden elected, with that ort field of Obaba acolytes and propagandists swirling around him.
There just aren't very many people (and their family) who can withstand the cruel invectives and flood of lies day in and day out.
Vance wouldn't last a day under it... and the nation would not be able to begin recovering from the destructive policies being unleashed by the day.

Hm? Seems to me that Vance could only fantasize about having the name-recognition and cult of personality that Trump has had for years.

Vance is not running for President. They’re talking about the Ohio Senate Race. How many of you disliked Trump in 2016 and before. Vance is a heck of a lot better than any Democrat. Read his book Hillbilly Elegy.

If his only complaint is Trump's aggressiveness, then he's not whom he claims to be. Bet if we look, we'll find the links to Soros.

No. He's OK as a Senator, maybe, but not in leadership position. I read his book and thought he was kind of all over the map.
