Sixty Catholic Democrats in Congress have written an open “Statement of Principles” explaining why the Catholic Church should not deny Holy Communion to professed Catholics who promote abortion. The open letter was published online on June 18 to coincide with the June meeting of the U.S. bishops, who discussed, among other things, the question of “Eucharistic coherence” and conditions under which a Catholic should not present himself to receive Holy Communion.“As legislators in the U.S. House of Representatives, we work every day to advance respect for life and the dignity of every human being,” the letter states.

Disney has been accused of pricing out loyal customers by targeting affluent families with $800 hotel rooms and $100 sandwiches at its theme parks, despite having scaled back its 'magic' since the pandemic began. A family vacation to Disneyland - once the pinnacle of summertime for middle-class American families - will today set a family of four back more than $6,000. With the average annual income now standing at $5,725 a month, this means a visit to the so-called 'happiest place on earth' is increasingly out of reach to the average American family.

U.S. Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) has challenged the U.S. bishops to refuse him Holy Communion at Mass, flaunting his support for abortion and same-sex marriage.
“Dear USCCB, I’m Catholic and I support contraception, a woman’s right to choose, treatments for infertility, the right for people to get a divorce, the right of same sex marriage,” Lieu tweeted Friday.
“Next time I go to Church, I dare you to deny me Communion,” he taunted.
The Jesuit-educated congressman, who attended Cleveland’s St. Ignatius High School and Georgetown University, enjoys a 100% legislator rating from lobbyist NARAL.

It was widely believed, and not without evidence, that the media, Big Tech, and other Democratic actors were pushing Biden into the White House with the hope that he could be replaced if certain developments occurred -- that is, if his failing mental condition or corrupt past made his continued occupation of the Oval Office problematic. (snip) Why have the media failed to sell Kamala Harris to their viewers as someone ready to jump into Joe’s shoes, if his advancing debilitation required it?
There are two obvious reasons for this failure. One, Kamala Harris was an affirmative action pick for the second spot on the Democratic ticket

CNN’s Don Lemon wore his thoughts on his sleeve in Sunday’s Washington Post Magazine feature on him (published online last Tuesday). In more than one instance he vented to reporter Eric Easter about just how racist America and white people were, while at the same time unironically lamenting about how we didn’t show enough grace to other people. At one point he even suggested that America may not even see blacks as “fully human” at all.The headline for the interview clearly laid out where they wanted to take things with a quote from Lemon suggesting: “We’re living in two different realities as Black and White people.”

Business owners and residents in New York City are expressing fury at the revelation that prosecutors have dropped looing and rioting charges against hundreds arrested during chaos that swept the city last summer.
After 603 were arrested in Manhattan and the Bronx during the most intense days of looting last June, 295 of the cases have been dropped completely, according to NYPD data reported by WNBC-TV on Friday.
Now Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr and Bronx DA Darcel D. Clark are facing tough questions about why hundreds walked free after the looting rampage caused an estimated tens of millions in damages.

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that he was pressing Attorney General Merrick Garland for a full investigation into the “gross abuses” by former President Donald Trump of the Department of Justice.Anchor John Dickerson asked, “The Department of Justice under the Trump administration subpoenaed your e-mail records. what’s the latest on that?” Schiff said, “This is something I found out from Apple a month ago. That is one issue, I had to hear from Apple, and not the Justice Department, what had gone on in the last four years. The inspector general is doing an investigation.

An ammunition shortage that began during the coronavirus pandemic and the heated 2020 election reportedly continues to plague manufacturers as Americans remain committed to stockpiling as many guns and as much ammo as possible.“It’s widely known the ammunition shortages continue. There is still a lot of interest in firearms,” Smith & Wesson CEO Mark Smith said this week to Fox Business Network. The data backs his statement. A survey conducted by the market research firm Southwick Associates in April found that, out of 1,800 ammo customers surveyed, 75 percent had already experienced out-of-stock issues this year, down by only 5 percent from the record high recorded in 2020.
