NEW YORK—The Big Bagel is getting so bad, even the baddies are demanding the fuzz do something. As the body count rises, it is obvious that the victims of violence are predominantly poor and minority. Last week, a woman killed in a drive-by shooting had been attending a vigil for a friend who was shot dead after stepping on a gunman’s shoe. A man mortally slashed on a Manhattan subway platform had recently been paroled for an attack on a Jewish woman and her mother. Brazen gunslingers are shooting the daylights out of each other in the Bagel, and there was a shooting spree in the middle of Times Square CORRECTION*

The rapidity of our country’s descent might be able to convince some “wokesters” just how wrong their ideas are. Hang on for 2022!

#1; Agreed, but the chaos and mayhem used to be confined to more limited areas. What will happen to those of us in fly-over country when there is nothing left to burn and loot in the Democrat cities? 50 million new gun owners are concerned, too.

The media RARELY tells what all news stories should include : Who, What, Why, When, and Where.
They bury the FACT that most crimes are perpetrated by Blacks. Just review the videos.

Growing up means taking responsibility for your own screwups. Haven't heard such yet and frankly I think the average NY'er is too stupid to ever wake up. So.I.Don't.Care till they do.

The anointed race we suppose to be woke about is eating everything alive. It is hard to believe a gun free zone like the Big Bagel has so much gunfire. There's not suppose to be any firearm ownership so where does the chosen race acquire them? We are turning a nation over to a useless race of people who have sworn not to fit into society while elected officials hand over the store. Dissolving or reducing police in a city the size of the Big Bagel was a stupid mistake that was suppose to accomplish what? I refuse to be woke or vaccinated let the politicians handle it. No sympathy for Mr. Taki coming from me be honest who did you vote for?

I figured out that NYC was a place that I wanted to stay forever far away from about 20 years ago.
And, clearly, I was right.
"Escape from New York" isn't just a movie any more.

As a result of my work, I have lived in many large cities around the world. Manila, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Memphis, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Copenhagen, London, Paris and Geneva. After a while, they are all about the same with perhaps some slight differences in dining and entertainment. Tall building, dense traffic and too many people. Mass media has completely homogenized culture around the world. I have never been to New York City and I will never go to New York City. I am missing NOTHING. It is a tyrannical socialist hellhole and the people who I have met from there are the most close-minded, provincial humans I have ever encountered. The africans-in-America who roam freely there are some of the most stupid (yes, I mean stupid, as in incapable of learning), uneducated, violent and spoiled africans on the planet. They are not worth the price of the rope used to hang them. No, thanks.

My wife is among the foremost tropical fish breeders in the nation as a hobbyist not business. There is a big deal convention (ACA) annually and after a year of no activity we are going in July. Regrettably this year it's in St. Louis. We have every intention of staying in the hotel and ordering food in. Sorry St. Louis Would like to spend some cash and tourist around a bit. Get your riots and murders under control.

#9, if you are willing to hop in a car and drive, and head south and west in the St. Louis area, things rapidly improve and are relatively benign and even safe. But you'd need to drive 15 minutes or so. West along the I-64 corridor and south of that has been pretty normal in our drives through the area, and stopping for gas and meals. But we don't live there, so can't recommend a specific place. Staying off of the I-70 area is the way to be safer. THAT part of town isn't good at all. I've had a few business meetings there, about 15 years ago....wasn't comfortable.

Re #6. Taki isn't asking for sympathy, just telling it like it is. He is further right than most of us here at Lucienne. If you haven't tried the magazine (Takimag) it's a treat to read. It's about the most politically incorrect publication on the market.

What #11 said. Taki is reporting on conditions in a home he has just returned to after living abroad (Gstaad, Switzerland and elsewhere) for years. He notices what has happened while he was away.
Those who don’t visit his magazine are missing a lot. Conservative to the max. He has travelled in wealthy circles. That bothers some, apparently. But that’s kind of Bernie-ish isn’t it? I thought we didn’t do class warfare...
