Democrats Want You Defenseless
Happy Thursday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. My head has never been on a pike.
It’s difficult these days to be an unabashed fan of the United States Constitution, what with it being under assault by so many who swore to uphold it. Welcome to Joe Biden’s America, and say goodbye to every freedom you held dear.
I really wish I were being over the top about this, but I read and stuff. This asterisked occupier administration continually exhibits a disdain for all of the freedom parts of the Constitution. They like the part where they can tax you to death but they hate almost everything else.

Note to democrats: Most of the ammo you want is in the red states.
So, come to the red states and you will get so much ammo you won't be able to walk with it.

No doubt that they want to use every slimy, crooked method that they can imagine to take away your gun rights, but we had "ammo control" for about 10 years after the first gun control act was passed in 1968.
Prior to that, anyone could sell firearms, via any method. Mail order was common. I bought several guns via mail order, as did family members. After 1968, guns had to be purchased through a federally licensed dealer, with a form filled out saying you could legally purchase it. AND every ammo sale had to be recorded by the seller, ammo type, brand, caliber and quantity, plus show ID to prove over 21 for handgun ammo, 18 for rifle ammo.
After about 10 years or so, I forget exactly, investigation showed that with this MASSIVE records keeping going on with ammo, there had been NO use of this information the way it was sold "to solve crimes" and the requirement was dropped.
Back to the future....they will probably try to ban mail order sales of ammo, and get background checks on all ammo sales....all to drive up the cost. A background check could add a huge expense to an ammo purchase.
The current shortage is due to the Dem-panic, plus more and more people responding to the terroristic violence of BLM and the antifa thugs. Last year there were 40 million background checks for gun sales, mostly new guns. for perspective, in 2006 the total for the year of background checks was 10 milion, and generally ran 8-9 million per year before then. In January of this year alone, well over 4 million background checks for gun sales. That one month would have been half a year's sales 15 or 20 years ago.
Huge numbers of new guns being sold, often to first time buyers. And guess what?...they want to have some ammo for their gun. So, suppose each one of 40 million purchasers last year wants to buy one box of 50 rounds for his/her new gun? That would be 2 billion rounds. But the reality is that maybe 1/2 of those folks are really worried and bought 5 or 10 boxes. 20 million x 10 boxes = 10 billion rounds.
And this is ONLY the 'new guns'. The 300-400 million existing guns need some ammo. Suppose 25% of the owners wanted 10 boxes to practice and have some for that riot that they saw on TV and burning people's stores? 25% of 350 million = 75 million x 10 boxes = 37.5 billion rounds. So, that's 47.5 billion rounds needed. And actually, many people are trying to purchase 1,000 rounds for each of multiple calibers, not 50 or 500.
When people purchase 50 billion or more rounds in a short period, it exhausts dealer shelves, it exhausts dealer warehouses, it exhausts manufacturer's warehouses, and it creates backorders for the manufacturers for years.
And when people see empty shelves at every place they go, it makes them want MORE because of the shortage, and so they buy "some extra", compounding the problem of massive demand outstripping the supply.
And Remington just went through bankruptcy, and their ammo factories were apparently shut down for some period during the transfer. They are one of the largest suppliers of ammunition.
So - the ammo shortage is due to a massive surge in demand, not any particular government plot - YET. But they would LOVE to do something to the ammo supply, count on that. So far, not much has been done other than massive new gun sales driving an ammo shortage, which has turned into panic buying.

Poster 6, I heard the Remington ammunition division was purchased by the Federal Ammunition company. And that the old Remington factories have resumed production. Maybe this will help the supply side. I also heard Federal has a shortage of packaging for Remington brand ammunition products.

#7, yes, my post was already way too long, but when Rem was broken up, the ammo manufacturing division was purchased by Vista Outdoors. They have MANY brands in ammunition manufacture, reloading tools, gun care, and hunting and firearms accessories.
Partial list: Ammo: Blazer, CCI, Speer, Federal, American Eagle. Others: RCBS, Tasco, Alliant (powder), Outers, Hoppes, Gunslick, Bushnell....they are huge, and very well run. MANY more brands under Vista.
Remington ammo is in good hands.

This happened in 2009 and 2013, right after the Kenyan Marxist was elected. People bought guns and ammunition like hell wouldn’t have it. Right after the 2008 election I went to Sportsmen’s Warehouse and spent $200 on bullets, primers and powder. Three days later it was all gone, along with lo aded ammo. The line at the gun counter was three deep.
The latest shortage is simple supply and demand. Ammunition makers are working 24/7; they just can’t keep up. Factor in the supply chain disruptions and employee absences due to COVID and it’s no wonder you can’t find a box of 9mm. Like one of the Hornady boys said: “ammunition is the new toilet paper.”
