Death

We will never hear the last of these names. Eric Garner. Alton Sterling. Michael Brown. George Floyd. Rashad Brooks.
And now Daunte Wright.
We will never hear the last of them because there will always be more. And because certain people are invested in forcing us to hear about them.
But what they demand we hear isn’t the truth.
Is it a tragedy that Daunte Wright is dead? Of course it is. Should he have been shot dead on Sunday by a Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, police officer? Why, no, he shouldn’t have been.
So George Floyd's girlfriend was Daunte Wright's teacher. Why do I thing there's more to this story. Also, there was a senior Government official that flew a Government plane into Minneapolis the day before the Floyd shooting. Same plane with the same official flew into Minneapolis the day before Dauntes shooting.

#1 there was no "Floyd shooting". Your tinfoil hat is on too tight, apparently.

The best article on this guy that I’ve seen anywhere. Never mind George Floyd’s girlfriend. The “more to this story” is this young man’s history that the media have worked so hard to conceal from us.

The bottom line is that had Wright survived this encounter he most likely would have met the same end at a later date.

Wright would still be alive if he did what he was ordered to do by the police officers. Instead, he chose to fight the police and try and drive away. How many times has this happened around the country with black males? Apparently they feel they don't have to obey the laws because they're special. While increased training might help, it wasn't the lack of training that caused Daunte Wright's death. It was Daunte Wright's lack of following the law.

The real reason is that BLM has no intention of getting anywhere near the south side of Chicago. They ain't buying houses there, They ain't spending the weekend there and BLM couldn't care less how many black kids die there every weekend. I the white supremacist racist bastid care. Stop the BS and stop the killing of our children.

Sorry, not by my definition. The "tragedies" would have been the innocent people who could have gotten in this dirtbag's way down the road had he not been taken off the board.

This is a good piece but I have one huge beef with it at a time when our firearms rights are under attack. It's difficult to protect rights if people don't even KeKe what they are. Wright wasn't in trouble for not having a "firearm permit" Americans don't need permits to have guns. No, Wright had a gun while out on bail for an aggravated robbery. His bail was revoked for that and he had a warrant for that the day he died.

Well written Mr. McKay. The fact that Duante's life is worth more after he is dead than when alive is prolific. I'm sure the family of this "great kid" is already salivating.

He was stupid enough to resist arrest, making him 100% responsible for any consequences.
Suicide by cop?

The real reason ? "Every day you get up and make choices. Some good, some bad, and some downright stupid. Own it"
Like the others, if it had not been that day, it would have been another day. Now he is a cash cow to his parents.
Why would anyone want to be an LEO today and risk going to prison for a criminal ?

FTA: “ So long as this tragic cycle can’t be called out for the horrific farce that it is, it will continue. But it can’t. And the next Daunte Wright will only keep the wheel turning around and around.”
Bingo! This will be a regular occurrence because that’s the way that democrats need it to be. They always benefit from the hatred and violence that is a result of these situations. They have a victim and more importantly, they have a villain. The victim is black, the villain is white. That is the narrative that gives democrats power and makes the victim’s family rich. It has nothing to do with the incident being predicated on a complete rejection of authority. That is never mentioned by the left. They want to vilify the police in order to deify the victim. The past of the victim is never to be revealed. The personal responsibility of the victim to refrain from resisting arrest is never mentioned. The democrats will continue to use these easily prevented shootings if they would just honestly address the root cause of these terrible situations. They would rather use a false narrative to incite hate and division than to actually try and prevent more of the same. This is a winning strategy for these venal democrats and they are not giving it up any time soon. Expect more of the same because it benefits the democrat party.

I blame the media for the perception that police officers are going around willy-nilly killing Black people. If not for the -unrealistic- perception that young Black males are being killed in numbers totally out of proportion to reality, there would probably be last inclination to resist arrest. They themselves escalate the situation by resisting, all too frequently leading to a situation in which they end up dying.

People who point out that Martin, Brown, Floyd, Wright had a criminals records are NOT doing it to justify their killings. But that is what is being implied or in many cases bluntly stated. "That doesn't mean he had to be killed" is the worst racist and socially destructive statement of today. because it is giving shelter and camouflage to facts and reality that will bring forth more such killings and finally metastasize into weakening and destroying our social fabric. Why would anyone do such a thing. Because it contributes towards keeping blacks separate from main stream culture and ensures a 90% vote bank for Liberal Democrats who have nothing else to offer to the people. Remember Trump's appeal "What do you have to lose"? In the spat between Riviera and Bonino, I am 101% with Bonino.

The police are not helping themselves. Unarmed persons, whatever their past, are being shot dead for fighting with the cops. They are then made martyrs while the cops retreat to create an explanation delivered at a press conference. It's no better optics than the FBI kicking in Roger Stone's door with CNN on the scene. So, support the badge. Some introspection is in order for law enforcement as well as "the community".

I haven't followed this story much because... it's the same old... same old... kid robs someone with a gun... the police try and stop him... he resists and is shot... in this case by mistake... but... where has the black community failed these people ... you never resist a cop... even WE whities know that...

The race hustlers have made quite a profitable industry out of these events. But I doubt Crump will be able to pull $27 million out of Brooklyn Center. It has long been a 'modest' suburb that abuts the poorest end of Minneapolis. When the Mayor was asked about insurance liability for the city he mumbled an unsatisfying answer and no one dared ask a follow-up. Perhaps the state taxpayers will be forced to cover Crump's payout.

when the writer finished by saying the wheel keeps turning around, he nailed it. we all know the circle as soon as the first reports come out. we already know that no pictures of an offender means they were black. that if the story gets no coverage the victim is white or asian. that a bunch if elected or appointed officials will be discovered to be incompetent. That a member of the black defense attorney's bar organization will magically appear to defend to honor of the black dead perp(for 30 or 40% of the take, Those custom suits don't come cheap), and the tax payers will be stuck with paying for a settlement they didn't approve, and some store owners will be burned out and looted(we can't all belong to the black defense attorney bar).
I know the solution and you know the solution, but it requires officials with spines and a "you loot, we shoot" credible policy. It will happen, and the sooner it does, the less blood shed and violence,

Who here would have wanted Daunte Wright as a neighbor? None of us. Spare me the tragedy of his death. If he hadn't been killed in what appears to be a real tragic accident on the officer's part, no one would know of Daunte and probably within a few more years, would have been shot any another black thug.

To #13:
Duante Wright: his unnecessary death, as are all such deaths, a real tragedy.
Was it "caused" by police?
No, it was caused by Wright's own choices in life.
Could it be characterized as a suicide by cop? Perhaps...
Could it be characterized as a suicide by his willful choice of a lifestyle of crime and ignorance? Without question.

This little moron dirtbag would have been dead in another couple of years anyway. By then, he would have knocked up another moronic girl, and maybe beat up a few more people and stolen their stuff. And his absentee moron father would still have called him a “good kid”.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I thought Minneapolis was a Democrat and Muslim city. They must be feeling the demographic pressure of the Latinix. Promoting racial hatred will not end well for our Nation. The Democrats should follow my example of being color blind and having Black friends. Soon the Democrats are going to need the Latino and Asian vote more and will spread out the welfare. The African-Americans will have to go back to primary school to compete in society.

The "Florida-race-promoting-poverty-pimp" Benjamin Crump is on the scene! He will be getting huge settlements for the family of Daunte to assuage the pain for a man most of them probably never knew.. I saw the obligatory family "press conference" Thursday afternoon——the big payoffs can't be far behind.

This is 98% on Mr. Wright's choices to be a violent felon, fighting with police after being caught with a warrant for armed robbery and assault.
Same story, time and time again. Punk gets a gun, starts robbing people and then goes up against the police with fatal results. The only twist here is that the officer had a brain failure (training failure) and used a 3 lb gun instead of a 1/2 lb Taser. Still, Mr. Wright set all of these wheels in motion by himself.
