In the days after the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, Big Tech moved against a conservative alternative social media platform, Parler, based on the premise that the rioters has used Parler to plan the attack on the Capitol and that Parler had failed in its responsibility to prevent such coordination. Based on this narrative, Apple and Google removed Parler from their app stores and Amazon removed Parler’s internet hosting. Yet on Thursday, Parler flipped the narrative on its head.
On Thursday, Parler sent a response to the House Committee on Oversight and Reform’s request for documents regarding the riot,

“The bill, H.B. 0800, was introduced by Representative Bruce Griffey (R – District 75) and will be considered by the Education Instruction Subcommittee on March 30,” KSDK reported Wednesday.
The bill says public schools need to focus on teaching subjects such as reading, science, and mathematics. It also adds LGBTQ+ content is inappropriate for the classroom and may offend a significant portion of school communities that hold Christian values.
In addition, the bill suggests LGBTQ+ issues be treated with the same rules as religious teaching in public schools.

Americans hate woke culture, as I noted in these pages not too long ago. Black, white, Republican and Democrat, a large majority of Americans oppose it. Even people like former President Barack Obama, Bill Maher and ultra-liberal comedienne Sarah Silverman hate it (Maher calls it “Stalinist”).
But it keeps going. Why is that? And what can you do about it — especially if you or someone you are close to comes under attack? In short, it keeps going because it’s easy and fun — and you have to make it less so.

Earlier today, Joe Biden gave one of the more embarrassing press conferences you’ll see from a president. As RedState chronicled here, here, and here, all the overpreparation in the world didn’t seem to matter. Despite holding mock briefings, something unheard of for a routine presidential presser, and having a binder full of answers to questions, Biden’s mind still managed to meltdown several times throughout the event.
Here’s one of the more egregious examples. Watch all the way until the end because the mumbling performance at the beginning isn’t his only flub in the span of 30 seconds. Biden later starts shuffling through papers attempting to read

The Liberal government has successfully defended its carbon tax in the courts, and it will defend it at the polls too, says the federal environment minister.
In a 6-3 decision on Thursday, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled the federal carbon pricing regime is constitutional. The decision means the government can move forward with its plan to ensure every province and territory has a price on carbon emissions.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—The Republican-led Ohio General Assembly on Wednesday voted to override Gov. Mike DeWine’s veto of legislation to rein in his administration’s coronavirus powers.
Senate Bill 22, which takes effect in 90 days, gives lawmakers the authority to cancel any gubernatorial health orders that last longer than 30 days, require the governor’s office to renew such orders every 60 days, and create a legislative oversight panel.
The bill also limits local health officials’ power to require people to quarantine or self-isolate without a specific medical diagnosis and allows Ohioans to sue over the constitutionality of any state emergency order in their home county.

When the Democrats decided to launch their unconstitutional military occupation of Washington D.C., they summoned 26,000 National Guard troops from all over the country to serve as a captive audience for Biden’s inauguration in an empty city living in fear. Those troops were made to sleep on cold marble floors in the Capitol and later in a cold parking garage. They were fed tainted meat, food with metal shavings and worms, resulting in illnesses and hospitalization.
The bill for this disastrous mess came to $483 million. Nothing but the best for the troops.

This wasn’t the only immigration lie he told at today’s presser. Rich Lowry has a list of others, like Biden falsely claiming that Trump treated immigrants more harshly than was actually the case or that his policies didn’t succeed at reducing illegal immigration. (They did, although the pandemic had a hand in that as well.) He also insisted that the “vast majority of families” arriving at the border are being turned away. If that was true before, it hasn’t been true recently: Between March 14 and 21, just 13 percent of family members were being sent back into Mexico. But the big lie is the one the White House

There’s a lot of room between sitting on your hands doing nothing and setting everything on fire. Things that used to get done used to get done in that space, and not much outside it. Outside it is apathy or insanity, which are not places you want to live. But life has gone from having a dimmer switch to two settings – off and blowing circuits. It’s fun to watch, I guess, but it’s not particularly helpful if you want to get things done. And I, for one, would like to get things done.

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- Atlantic City says it will redo a Black Lives Matter tribute on a street because the original painting of those words across the entire road confused motorists who didn't know where to drive on it. Instead, the words "Black Lives Matter" will be painted onto the repaved road in a manner that does not obscure lane divider markings, Mayor Marty Small said Thursday. The City Council voted Wednesday night to spend $36,000 to repave the road, which police said had become so confusing to motorists that the city blocked it off at either end with barriers

It was Halloween when Jane Bernardel, a homeschooling mom of 11, was hauled away by police for praying in an empty church without a mask.
It’s a Bernardel family tradition to attend Vespers and recitations of the litany of the saints on Halloween, the eve of the great feast of All Saints, to sanctify a day they see as having been secularized. On Halloween 2020, Bernardel and some of her children prayed at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Kansas City, Missouri.

Watching this sham of an event was excruciating, particularly during the moments he seemed to forget what he was trying to say.But perhaps one of most ridiculous parts of the press conference, when Biden actually succeeded in getting through a sentence without losing his train of thought, was when he made an absurd attack on Republican efforts to strengthen election integrity in various states.“What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. There used to be a saying that any country called the “People’s Democratic Republic” was the reverse. Nothing illustrates the semantic inversion better than the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, also known as North Korea). It is neither a democracy nor a republic; in fact, it is actually the only Communist aristocratic dynasty in the world.
But their Communist majesties are a royal family on the cheap. That makes them deceptively comical. The Nokor version of “Game of Thrones” featured the assassination of Kim Jong-un’s half-brother in Malaysia, which resulted in the entire DPRK embassy being recently expelled.

It turns out, Biden may not have been legally permitted to end the construction because the funding for the project had already been approved.
Charles Young, public affairs officer for the GAO, confirmed the investigation on Tuesday, as more and more border Democrats spoke out against Biden’s disastrous immigration policies.

If you needed a reminder that the swamp is alive and well, look no further than the recent vote by the House Republican Conference to bring pork-barrel spending back to Congress. Egged on, no doubt, by the special interests that fund their campaigns, 102 Republicans—who identify as conservatives when campaigning—just decided to undo one of the biggest accomplishments of the Tea Party era. Now, Senate Republicans are similarly considering a proposal to follow suit.
If this isn’t a sign that Congressional Republicans need new leadership in Washington, I don’t know what is. The good news is that a new group of freshman Republicans who are taking Washington by storm

Last week in Anchorage, Alaska, Chinese diplomats dressed down Biden Administration Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. Both seem stunned by the Chinese broadsides.
Apparently, as elite Americans readily confess to inherent white supremacy and racism—highlighting the complaints of BLM and Antifa—the Chinese are happy to agree that such admittedly toxic Americans should not dare to criticize China’s racist policies.

President Joe Biden’s administration is weighing the idea of declaring gun violence as a public health emergency, in order to take dramatic executive action to tackle gun rights.Biden officials and gun control activists discussed the idea, according to the New York Times, as well as other executive actions that could tackle gun rights nationwide. If Biden declared a public health emergency, he could shift more funding to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to increase their inspections of gun dealerships. It would also loosen up available funds for community gun violence programs. The administration is also exploring a way to classify gun kits (including 80 percent uppers/lowers) as firearms,

Interesting that Reuters would outline the walk-backs. Even more interesting that the details of the walk-backs seem to prove the DOJ never actually intended to win any of these cases, but rather wanted to advance a political narrative about extremists through their earlier statements. The approach of building a political narrative through false accusations and over-charging in the DOJ is the essence of Lawfare. The government has endless taxpayer resources to fuel their political weaponization of the judiciary. The process of the charges then becomes the punishment by design. The targets are drained financially, sometimes physically detained under false pretense, and then the DOJ walks backwards when

Infrastructure spending is usually a popular proposal. Between potholes down the street and reports of crumbling bridges, Americans tend to agree that America’s infrastructure needs work. An infrastructure spending bill floated by Democrats, however, is shaping up to be something else entirely—maybe even superfluous, according to an infrastructure policy expert.
Major federal infrastructure spending was originally justified as a national defense issue. The interstate system was to secure expedient troop movement, for instance. But those days are long gone. Today’s bipartisan support for such spending stems from political expediency.
