House Democrats on Thursday hailed the expected passage of two bills that would grant citizenship rights to millions of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called it a sea change in the nation’s stance on immigration. “We say to the world we are making a very big difference in how we value the diversity of America,” she said at her weekly press conference at the U.S. Capitol. She was joined by Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrod Nadler, New York Democrat, who said the bills “closed the book” on tougher immigration policies of the Trump administration. “Today we begin a new chapter,”

Detergent and cleaning brand Tide is urging Americans to do their laundry in cold water; to save the planet, and maybe save some money.
As part of their effort to lower the carbon footprint of doing laundry, Tide’s new campaign is aimed at getting people to do an average of three out of four loads of laundry with cold water by 2030. [SNIP]
The switch will cut down on the power consumption needed to heat the water.
"This is going to be the defining decade for where we end up on climate change," Shailesh Jejurikar, CEO of Procter & Gamble's fabric and home care division, said in an interview.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reacted to President Joe Biden calling him a "killer" by challenging Biden to take part in a conversation with him broadcast live online. “I’ve just thought of this now,” Putin told a Russian state television reporter. “I want to propose to President Biden to continue our discussion, but on the condition that we do it basically live, as it’s called. Without any delays and directly in an open, direct discussion. It seems to me that would be interesting for the people of Russia and for the people of the United States.” CORRECTIONS*

An American-born ISIS bride has admitted that when Donald Trump tweeted she should never be allowed back into the US she 'lost all hope'.
Hoda Muthana said that she had a 'meltdown' when the former President said he had effectively banned her from returning to the country she considers home. [SNIP] She is currently living in the Roj refugee camp in Northern Syria with her two-year-old son after a federal judge ruled that because her father was a diplomat when she was born in Hackensack, New Jersey she is not an American citizen and so cannot return.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Thursday warned North Korea that U.S. forces are ready to "fight tonight" after the dictatorship condemned military drills taking place in South Korea.
The U.S. and South Korean militaries have resumed springtime drills in South Korea after pausing exercises last February due to coronavirus concerns.
Austin discussed the U.S. military's commitment to "denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula" and "the importance of maintaining military readiness" during a press conference Wednesday.

It’s widely assumed in much of the media commentary I’ve seen in the past few months that neither the Durham special counsel’s office nor the federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s tax affairs are real.
(Snip)
If it’s true that both always were or soon became bogus investigations, this brings up a relevant question: Since President Joe Biden is now safely installed in the White House, and there’s no longer any reason to keep up the pretense that anything is happening, why are both investigations continuing? Why haven’t they been ended yet?
Counter to most of the media pontifications about this ongoing federal investigation, I’m convinced they are quite real.

President Biden misspoke in a speech Thursday offering updates on an update on vaccination progress in the U.S., referring to his vice president as "President Harris." "When President Harris and I took ..." Biden said, before momentarily pausing, "a virtual tour of a vaccination site in Arizona not long ago, one of the nurses on that tour injecting people, giving vax each shot, was like administering a dose of hope."

Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded to Biden calling him a “killer” with two insults of his own. Biden’s gaffes already appear to be escalating the US’s relationship with Russia in a bad way.Biden and his Intel community are accusing Russia of interfering in the 2020 election while giving China a complete pass. This pro-China narrative is the opposite of what the former Intel Chief Ratcliffe shared in January before the corrupt Biden gang took over:

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union said that Ford Motor Co.’s plan to build a new vehicle in Mexico instead of Ohio might be a violation of the auto manufacturer’s contractual commitments.
“We 100 percent reject the company’s decision to put corporate greed and more potential profits over American jobs and the future of our members. We expect the company to honor its contractual commitments to this membership and when it fails to do so we will take action,” UAW Vice President Gerald Kariem said. “We are intensely exploring our options at this time,” he added.
