Good luck Shep! I'm sure your condescending tone of voice is needed somewhere else.

FTA: “even in our currently polarized nation, it’s my hope that the facts will win the day, that the truth will always matter, that journalism and journalist will thrive.”
Shep is delusional if he ever thought he behaved in accordance with his statement.

The hammerhead (wide eyes) as opposed to como (eyes too close) slithers away. I might go back to see what's on that hour. Bye!

More time to pursue his other pastimes... wherever depravity will lead him. But seriously, never watched so won't be missed either way.

Oh happy day! I never turn on Fox this early in the day but for some strange reason I did just in time to hear Shep sign off. I knew something was up when he went on and on about how much he loved working for the network. As good as Fox has been to him it’s still must be hard to know that most of the people who watch it are not too crazy about him. As he leaves to greener whatever perhaps it’s the beginning, we live in hope, that Fox will do some cleaning up of the much disliked Libs.

It is a day late. At long last. He will be moving to CNN very soon. He has been impossible to watch since Katrina and that was like 10 years ago.

I wish this caused me to think that Fox might return to "fair and balanced." I don't think it will.
Shep's departure is no loss but, sadly, no gain, either.

Good redness. I remember when he got into a fight with a lady in New Orleans over a parking space after the big hurricane that hit there. Right there I knew that he was a fruitcake!
The way the FNC is going don’t be surprised if they don’t give Smith’s showtime to someone like Barack Obama, Paul Ryan, or Donna Brazil and move it to primetime.

Please don't ban me for saying this, but early on I liked him. Then came the New Orleans debacle, and I wised up. I remember someone commenting on this site "I'm sure there is no Mrs. Smith". I'm a bit naive, but I caught on. He really became a drama queen, and I quit watching him years ago. When people are driven by their ideology, they are no longer journalists or commentators.

BREAKING NEWS!! Fox News has just announced that with the departure of our fine journalist Shepard Smith FNC has wasted no time in recruiting a news anchor of equal journalistic skills to fill the spot and keep the show at the highest level it has always maintained. It is our great pleasure to report that Rachel Maddow will take over the 3:00 spot starting on 10/14/2108. We look forward to her keeping FNC Fair and Balanced(balanced more left than right) and the success she will bring.
