The Pittsburgh Penguins have come under fire for photoshopping masks onto fans' faces during the team's first game in front of home supporters for nearly a year.
The scandal first unfolded on Twitter on Wednesday when the Penguins' official page tweeted an image showing a group of fans all appearing to be properly wearing face coverings as they watched their team take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
'We just had to say this again ... thanks for the continued support, Penguins fans,' the post read. 'We can't wait to see you tomorrow night.'

As the Senate prepares to debate the COVID-19 Relief bill, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) observed the bill provides $400 billion that contains no protections for ensuring it will not be used to fund elective abortion.
Daines tweeted a video of his review of some of the features of the measure, which passed the House Friday, referring to it as the “liberal wish list” of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY): “Here’s one that will get your blood pressure up,” said Daines, who heads the Senate Pro-Life Caucus. “$400 billion that has no protections to ensure we don’t have taxpayer dollars spent for abortions.”

Aides to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo altered a public report on COVID-19 nursing home deaths so that the fatality numbers excluded a huge number of those who died in hospitals, The Wall Street Journal reports. Sources cited by the Journal said Cuomo’s advisers convinced health officials to limit the death toll to those who had died of the virus in long-term nursing home facilities, excluding all of those who fell sick in such facilities but later passed away in hospitals. The July report consequently showed that only 6,432 nursing home patients died, a figure that represented a massive undercount. The actual death toll is more than 15,000.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., forced the Senate to begin reading all 628 pages of President Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion COVID bill aloud on the Senate floor Thursday, further delaying a vote on the legislation Democrats hope to make law by next week. Johnson said his tactic was about “educating” the American public on what was in the $1.9 trillion package, which he has derided as full of provisions unrelated to COVID relief. The entire process could take at least 10 hours. He told reporters Thursday he felt badly for the Senate clerks who are going to “have to read it,” but it was “important”

It seems we are living through a phase of so-called “cancel culture” these days. Just this week, Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced it will no longer publish six lesser-known books by the famed children’s author due to offensive and racist depictions. Mr. Potato Head is now non-gender. Some episodes of The Muppet Show has special warning labels on Disney+. Aunt Jemima is KO’d on the syrup shelves. In a sweeping wave of reassessing cultural images we have grown up with in our American life, a new and more sensitive spotlight is being presented on the way we view the past through the prism of a more politically correct 2021.

Are you now, or have you ever been, a white person? I ask this not out of personal curiosity but for the betterment of American society. Everyone with a sense of justice knows that the greatest threat our country faces comes from its own white population. This message now saturates our culture. We hear it from the president’s bully pulpit. It is everywhere in the media and it is an increasingly inescapable feature of school and workplace life. Coca-Cola gave a useful and concise formulation to this plague in their now required “sensitivity” training for employees. The snappy message: “try to be less white.”

The Republican Party’s leaders still don’t get it.
That’s the big takeaway from a newly-released strategy document from the largest Super PAC backing Republican House candidates.
The Congressional Leadership Fund spent $140 million in the 2020 cycle, and could very well spend even more in 2022. It will hold enormous sway over what candidates are recruited in next year’s House races, and what their message is.
Republicans substantially outperformed expectations in 2020’s House elections.

“EBay is currently sweeping our marketplace to remove these items,” an eBay spokeswoman told the Wall Street Journal in an email.

Days later, it came out that he had used the word in response to a student’s question about a high school girl who’d been suspended

The 2021 “For the People Act” – HR 1 – is one of the worst bills ever given political life. Authors claim it would “expand Americans’ access to the ballot box” and indeed it does. It changes our elections into something akin to an open-air market, where every “individual” – not “citizen” – can vote. Its passage late Wednesday night proves again why nothing good ever happens when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi lurks with her cartoon-sized gavel after dark. No Republicans voted for this disaster and only one Democrat voted against it. The vote was 220-210.

(Snip) appearance of some sketchy quid-pro-quo then takes on another level of sketch when we remind ourselves what Elaine

Outraged Americans are demanding to know why eBay has banned them from reselling the six 'offensive' Dr Seuss books that are being canceled when copies of Hitler's Mein Kampf and Louis Farrakhan—whose anti-Semitic remarks are well known—are still available. Ebay on Thursday started removing listings for the six Dr Seuss books that are no longer going to be produced. They emailed people who had listed the books, saying that the post violated their 'offensive materials policy'.(Snip) Dr Seuss Enterprises announced two days ago that it would no longer reprint six books which contained racist imagery.

San Francisco—A KPIX 5 reporter investigating a series of auto break-ins around Twin Peaks in San Francisco was robbed of his camera at gunpoint Wednesday. Residents who live near the city landmark say car break-ins have been commonplace in the neighborhood since the San Francisco Metropolitan Transportation Authority (SFMTA) closed the access road to the popular vista point to automobile traffic at the beginning of the pandemic. On Wednesday afternoon, the smash-and-grabs turned into armed robbery. KPIX 5 reporter Don Ford was on the story Tuesday and again on Wednesday, and was preparing to interview nearby homeowners when a white

Montana’s Governor Greg Gianforte is taking Biden’s slam on Texas and turning it political jujitsu.
President Joe Biden didn’t like that Texas and Mississipi weren’t playing along with the left’s apocalyptic treatment of COVID-19 when it lifted its lockdown measures and mask mandate. In response, Biden called Texas’s decision “neanderthal thinking.”
“The last thing, the last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime everything’s fine, take off your mask,” Biden continued. “Forget it. It’s still matters. … And it’s critical, critical, critical, critical that they follow the science. Wash your hands, hot water, do it frequently. Wear a mask and stay socially distance.

The Pentagon is trying to root out political “extremism” in the ranks, but its definition is so broad and blurry that some retired officers and military analysts fear it could inadvertently sweep up traditional Catholics, Republicans and others who aren’t racist or violent but simply embrace conservative, pro-life politics. The potential unintended consequences of the Defense Department’s anti-extremism push, critics say, could be far-reaching and in a worst-case scenario could hurt military recruiting in the long run if religious Americans or those on the political right feel unwelcome in the ranks. The Biden administration has been doing

A suspect wanted for battering an Asian man in an unprovoked Manhattan subway station attack was caught on surveillance video jumping a turnstile, wearing a cheery sweater depicting a snowfall while scowling behind a red bandanna. Cops released the video Thursday and asked the public’s help identifying and tracking down the suspect in the possible hate crime. The Tuesday night beatdown is the latest in a string of attacks against Asian New Yorkers. Teoh Ming was entering the East Broadway subway station near Rutgers St. when his attacker stormed up and punched him, knocking him to the ground about 8:50 p.m.

At least a dozen people killed in a crash between an SUV and a semi truck in southern California on Tuesday had entered the U.S. from Mexico through a hole in the border fence, U.S. Border Patrol confirmed.
The SUV was carrying 25 people when the driver, a resident of Mexico, entered an intersection “directly in front” of the truck, according to a preliminary report by Highway Patrol. Among the passengers, 12 were killed at the scene and another died in the hospital of injuries sustained in the crash.
Another SUV that entered through the same gap in the border fence caught fire in an unrelated incident

Most people are canny enough to know that when someone advertises himself or herself as a certain kind of thing, the opposite is likely to be the case. Think: "Honest John's Used Cars." "Mom's Cooking." "We're from the government and we're here to help." "I'm a lady."
Which brings us to Meghan Markle, the Hollywood B-list actress who finagled a role for a couple of years as the Duchess of Sussex.
After telling us how selfless she was for ditching the royal family in order to go make money (off of them, no less), including a coming March 8 tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey, here's the biteback from Buckingham Palace:

The federal investigation into Hunter Biden's "tax affairs" is "active and ongoing," two sources familiar with the status of the probe told Fox News. The sources told Fox News that those involved in the investigation, which is being run out of the U.S. attorney's office in Delaware, are "treating it seriously." And as President Biden and members of his administration vowed, sources told Fox News that the U.S. attorney's office in Delaware "has not heard from the White House" or the president’s nominee for attorney general, Judge Merrick Garland.

Democrats’ proposal to lower the income cap for the third round of stimulus checks could prevent nearly 12 million adults from receiving them, a new analysis shows.
President Biden has agreed to limit eligibility for the $1,400 coronavirus relief payments so that people earning more than $80,000 a year would not get one.Individuals making up to $75,000 annually would still receive the full amount under the proposal pushed by moderate Democratic senators, while the payments would shrink for those earning between $75,000 and $80,000.About 200 million adults would receive stimulus checks under the new Senate plan,

Last week, federal prosecutors offered an undisclosed plea deal to two lawyers who firebombed an NYPD van and drove around passing out Molotov cocktails to protesters at a violent May 2020 Black Lives Matter (BLM) protest in Brooklyn. Urooj Rahman, 31, and Colinford Mattis, 32, who was driving the car used in the crime, had been indicted in June for arson, conspiracy, and the use of explosives. They faced life imprisonment.
In the name of “social justice,” politicians and the judiciary in many cities and states are bestowing moral rights on violent left-wing and anarchist groups.

Not everyone is aware that the journalist Ambrose Bierce (1842–1914) wrote short stories, poems, and fables. (snip) One of them is entitled "Alarm and Pride." It is a perfectly apt description of what Americans today face with the leftists now in control of all three branches of government. (snip) Bierce's little parable describes our plight in the face of the tsunami of leftist abrogation of our Constitution since they illicitly took power. Not even their mouthpieces in the media believe that Biden won the election fair and square. That is why they protest so hysterically when anyone states the obvious

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials revealed that a second accident involving 19 suspected illegal aliens occurred this week at approximately the same time and place as a mass casualty crash happened that resulted in the deaths of at least 13 people, all believed to have illegally entered the U.S.The two separate critical incidents happened during the early morning hours on Tuesday when two SUVs entered a 10-foot hole that had been cut in an old section of border fence, which was not part of former President Donald Trump’s wall.

It takes three days after any event to find out what happened, and 30 days to find out what really happened. The dust storm of information and misinformation takes a while to settle in the perpetually-online United States. (snip) We don’t know how many forced their way inside. Charges have been filed against more than three hundred. We were told that would increase by an order of magnitude or more than a thousand. It will not. COVID-19 cases are plunging. Vaccination rates are booming. The economy is rebounding. States are running budget surpluses. Schools are reopening. All without the benefit of President Joe Biden’s “urgently needed” $1.9 trillion spending spree. So why aren’t supposedly moderate Senate Democrats standing up to oppose this Treasury theft, which will be paid for by future generations?
Just this week, we learned that Texas has dropped its mask mandate and is lifting limits on businesses. So is Mississippi. Biden said that vaccines will be available to all Americans by May. A report showed that manufacturing is growing at the fastest pace

A bipartisan group of senators on Wednesday introduced legislation seeking to rein in war powers from President Joe Biden by repealing two decades-old military authorizations. The move comes on the heels of Biden’s military air strike in Syria on Thursday night without first seeking congressional approval. The legislation introduced from Sens. Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Todd Young (R-IN) “would repeal the 1991 and 2002 authorizations that cleared the way for a prolonged military conflict in Iraq, culminating in calls from Democrats and Republicans alike to end the so-called ‘forever wars’ in the region,” POLITICO reported.

House Democrats passed a sweeping voting rights bill over Republican opposition late Wednesday. The For the People Act, also known as House Resolution 1, was approved along party lines on a 220-210 vote. The legislation aims to lower voting barriers, expand access to the polls, put an end to partisan gerrymandering and set up public funding for congressional races. It would also require states to offer mail-in ballots, same-day voter registration and a minimum of 15 days of early voting.“What we are doing in this fight that we’re engaged in is to empower the people.

Former Vice President Mike Pence has been extremely quiet since January 6th, when he presided over an Electoral College objection process that was cut short by his rules decisions. Amid the Capitol uprising that even spurred him to be ushered out by the Secret Service, it seemed to be a foregone conclusion that Pence must have been partial to the arguments that there were no major irregularities in the 2020 elections. Pence put that presumption to rest today with an op-ed published at the conservative Daily Signal. In the opinion piece, the former vice president weighs in on the “election irregularities”

The Democrats’ pompous characterization of the mini-riot at the Capitol on January 6 as an “insurrection” is a transparent political ploy. The idea of appointing a “9/11-style” commission to investigate a riot in which no one was killed or seriously injured by the rioters is self-refuting. How about a “9/11-style” commission to investigate the murders of Trump supporters in Portland and Denver during the campaign? Or the people who died in the Minneapolis riots? That would make more sense.
Actually, if you want to talk about insurrection, the violence and violent rhetoric that the Democratic Party marshaled after Donald Trump’s election in 2016 more nearly fits the definition.
