The first test of a project backed to spray millions of tonnes of chalk into the stratosphere, in an attempt to 'dim the sun' and cool the Earth, could happen in June.
Harvard University experts will test the system by sending a large balloon 12 miles above the Swedish town of Kiruna and have it drop 2kg of chalk dust into the stratosphere.
The aim of the estimated $3 million mission, backed by billionaire Bill Gates, is to have the chalk deflect a portion of the sun's radiation, stop it from hitting the surface, and cool the planet.
The idea has been heavily criticised since its inception...

Mr Gates can spray as much chalk as he pleases above his own home if he want to test this theory. Just leave others out of it.

This is so stupid and so dangerous on so many levels that it can't be fully described,. The biggest change in climate for the last hundred yeas has been the "correcting" of past temperature readings lower so that it looks like the climate is warming up. The climate always changes and generally goes in cycles. Warming in the fifties, glaciers on the way in the sixties and seventies, warming starting in the late eights, now just changing because the truth doesn't fit the narrative. Gates needs to eat his chalk and leave the climate alone.

So Billy Boy Gates thinks he's so smart, smarter that nature. Just sprinkle the atmosphere with chalk and it will cool the earth. What a jack's behind. Who know. Maybe some nut job will put this one into affect. Oh brother. Send Billy Boy Gates up with the chalk please. Or just send some chalk to his residence in the Seattle area. Maybe that would help with Seattle's problems.

Sure, put more particles into the atmosphere and pollute the air even more. Sure the chalk dust will fall back to earth eventually, coating everything with dust, killing plants & animals. It will also get into the water. But, its Bill Gates idea, so it must be ok.

People are having trouble breathing because of the Coronavirus, so let's fill the air with chalk dust so that more people will have trouble breathing, and the governing elites can keep us mere peasants under control that much longer.
And to make it extra special, let's use our tax dollars to make us sicker by paying for this insanity!!!
Anyone else putting 2 and 2 together, and seeing the clear "4" result?!?!?!?

What’s going on here? This is already being done, and has been for years. These are the infamous contrails, and you can see them criss crossing the sky 1-2x/month. (And no, they are not run-of-the-mill jet contrails, nor clouds.) They are lower in the sky and take hours to disperse. Something is being sprayed, but no one knows what. So, it’s curious that Gates is openly talking about this. Perhaps some sort of round about disclosure?

I seem to remember a cheesy sci-fi movie (late night HBO or Cinemax) where a scientist injected some chemical into the atmosphere in an attempt to stop/alter climate change only to end up completely dimming the sun to the point it was night time 24/7.
Maybe little Billy had been watching too many movies lately.

that's the plan huh, Billy boy? now you wouldn't want to foot the bill for this little trek into science fiction, would you? No, I didn't think so. "Could dimming the sun help to cool the Earth?" sounds like a question which would have been posed during the Dark Ages when they tried to make lead into gold.

#16, the ring around the moon is a reasonably common phenomenon, caused by very thin, very high clouds, called cirrostratus. The moisture diffracts the light, forming the ring. These rings sometimes presage a storm, and this was an old farmer's weather prediction method, true often enough to be noted, but not totally reliable.

#16. Those are referred to as 22 degree arc haloes. Also known as “moon dogs”. They are due to light refraction from high cirrus clouds. They are not uncommon. They can also appear around the sun. AKA “sun dogs”.
