After years of not being able to find a buyer for her Saddle River mansion, Rosie O’Donnell finally caved and sold her home at a loss, The Post has learned. But the home’s next residents are already causing a stir in the tony neighborhood, home to the rich and famous, from rapper Ja Rule to singer Mary J. Blige. The six-bedroom, nine-bathroom abode is expected to be demolished and turned into a series of affordable housing units per a landmark public court settlement with Fair Share Housing Center. But the agreement has left its upscale residents outraged.(Snip)“It’s one of the most exclusive

They should be welcoming and open to having folks to have affordable housing in their exclusive neighborhood.

I'm trying to remember, didn't the Obama administration get the HUD to rule about diversifying neighborhoods?
It really hurts when the Libs get hit with one of his ideas.

I’ll bet every single “celebrity” in the neighborhood supports this concept, just not where they live. Hypocrites.

What can possibly go through these numbskulls’ heads when they mock other people who aren’t “enlightened” enough to want low income housing in their middle class neighborhoods? Do they judge and sneer because they believe they are immune? Do they understand that being above the fray and demanding that others sacrifice does not make them noble? Do they honestly believe that living in some of the most desirable real estate in the country offers them some magical exclusion from the ramifications of the communism they call socialism and admire so much? Trump Towers and other Trump properties not to mention President Trump must be looking pretty good about now, eh Saddleback?

So, they are going to tear down a big mansion in order to subdivide the property and build several houses on it, with the 20% "affordable" houses segregated and scrunched in the back of the property for the peasants? I hate real estate developers AND I hate most of these stupid laws and requirements for private land use.

O Donnell herself could have been turned into affordable housing. This is bad for the neighborhood, though. This is coming for all of us under Obama, Harris & Biden regs.

This "equity" effort is destined for all our neighborhoods sooner than we might think. Better that it starts in Saddle River, or Georgetown, or Grosse Pointe, or Hyannis Port first, rather than in our home towns.

Hidden in this article is the one liner that Rosie owns a 4 bedroom apt in mid-town Manhattan. So she lost 1MM on the NJ home, and I'd wager she paid top of the mkt for her apt. Making any more good financial moves Rosie?

State law usually requires 100% of such units to be "affordable." Because these folks are super-special, only 20% of units fit that category, but the locals object that their Fine Town has none of the usual amenities required by The Impoverished, and thus should have none. They care, but not that much; reap what you sow.
