Tucker Carlson ripped into Arkansas Gov Asa Hutchinson over his decision to veto a bill that would ban gender confirming treatments and surgery for transgender youth, accusing him of supporting the 'chemical castration' of children.
Carlson and Hutchinson engaged in a heated debate on Fox News on Tuesday night after Arkansas' Republican legislature voted to override the governor's veto and move forward with enacting the bill.
The interview was rocky out of the gate as Hutchinson, a Republican, immediately took issue with Carlson's description of the bill.

Hutchinson is the third-worst Arkansas governor in my lifetime, and I remember Faubus.

Why is Hutchinson still considered a Republican? He needs to be booted from the party as well as from the governorship.

The wise Legislature has overruled Asa's stupidity. His explanation of limited government is unconvincing. Seems more is going on here.

When I grew up, I played cowboys and was always a cowboy. I wanted a gun and holster for Christmas which I got. I never wanted to be a real boy or man. I am woman hear me roar! Don't destroy our children with all of this gender mess. They hardly understand the word gender much less have the ability to understand what changing genders means. Shame on the Governor for being so stupid.

Hutchinson made Kristi Gnome look like a stalwart patriot. What a linguini-spined wuss! The ideal Pubbie though.

Yup those are the same kids it was ok to kill one day but on the next day you could be arrested for placing them the wrong car seat or even facing them the wrong way. The common denominator...of course the absurdities sold by the left that signal the extent of the power they hold over so many people.

Me too, #4. I spent my childhood climbing trees, playing in the swamps around the bayou and building forts with my older brother and his friends. Then puberty arrived and I discovered that boys had other qualities that I had not yet imagined.

The idea that a three year old has any idea about sex or gender is just insanity. Hutchinson is just completely wrong.

Another RINO self-immolates on Tucker. He's doing the Lord's work every night at 8, giving losers a chance to out themselves in front of a national audience. Hutchison should resign just for thinking it was a good idea to submit to serious questions.

Me three, ladies. I, too, was a want to be cowboy. My mother couldn’t get me out of cowboy boots until I was 10 or 11. And I also had my Red Ryder BB gun!

Claiming that a young child can make an informed decision about changing their gender is absurd. More likely it is the idea of an overbearing adult that the child is trying to please. Up through puberty, sexual awareness is a very confusing time. The child should be allowed to grow up and make this decision instead of having hormone treatments thrust upon them.

My sons couldn't drink under the age of 21 even with my consent. Hutchinson's point about "with parent's consent" was a red herring.

The headline is bias. It assumes kids know they're transgendered. How would children know if the idea isn't planted in they're heads by adults. The idea that letting kids change they're life forever before adulthood is just stupid. Tucker brought up the study in England that shows people who do this are generally depressed, and suicidal, and seek mental health help far more often than the general public.

I was not much of a doll girl (played with robots instead), didn't like frills (still don't), not particularly "girly," but it never crossed my mind to be a boy. I just liked boy stuff better than girl stuff. The pattern has continued into my adulthood, and I'm not at all troubled by it.

The fact that this ban was opposed by the ACLU and social workers is not surprising. That it is opposed by the American Association of Pediatrics is more than disturbing.

Tucker did an outstanding job of pointing out the absurdity of Hutchinson's decision. Hutchison mentioned that parents were supportive. Maybe Asa is also OK with Female Genital Mutilation. After all, the parents are supportive!
It should be obvious to anyone with eyes to see and at lease half a brain that the 'trans' movement is a social wave, not a liberating tide for a segment of our population that has been oppressed for centuries. Kids are caught up in the wave. Their natural confusion and quest for identity and purpose is satisfied by a commitment to becoming a member of what is perceived as an oppressed minority. They receive validation for their bravery and support by people who are caught in the passion of belonging to a 'righteous' movement. They make decisions to take permanent steps, encouraged by people who are caught in the same crashing wave.
Hutchinson makes the mistake of trusting the 'experts' who are caught in the wave. He does not notice that these doctors no longer conform to the Hippocratic oath, "First, do no harm".

There is no such thing as "transgendered children", the term "transgendered" is a lie.
Asa has ended his political career, just like Gov. Noem did, for the same, inexplicably stupid reason, it would seem.

Did anyone listen to Coast to Coast AM two weeks ago? Apparently, the show's host George Norry doesn't have a problem with children switching their genders, either.
