Former first lady Michelle Obama voiced deep concerns about what’s happening to migrants under President Trump’s aggressive deportation policy, railing against its impact on her home city of Chicago. During a conversation about race and fear, the former first lady acknowledged that she has a pretty protected lifestyle, while fretting that everyday people living outside her bubble might be suffering. “In this current climate, for me it’s what’s happening to immigrants,” Obama, 61, told “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” during a podcast episode that dropped Monday when asked her most “recent test of fear.” “It’s not the fear for myself anymore,”

Years ago, I read an article about Jeremiah Wright's "Down Low Club" that paired gay black men in the church to "often unattractive and difficult to deal with straight black women who never have boyfriends (since guys don’t want to have anything to do with them)." The writer continued by describing the women as "heifers." Those statements described Mooch to a "T." Spain has declared a state of emergency after a nationwide power blackout hit most of the Iberian peninsula, leaving roads gridlocked and prompting people to clear supermarket shelves. The country's Interior Ministry added the emergency status will be applied in the regions that request it - amid fears the chaos could last for days. It comes after huge queues formed outside shops and banks as residents, tourists desperately sought to stockpile essentials and take out cash as they could amid the uncertainty. Rows of cars were pictured lining up at petrol stations as people hoped to fill up their vehicles and fuel cans, with expats detailing how they have tried

The second Donald Trump administration continues to ferret out racial favoritism in education and the federal workforce, and there is plenty to be found. The administration is now turning to K-12 classrooms and already has a good model to use for its latest order to end race-based quotas in school discipline. On Wednesday, the White House issued an executive order on discipline, rejecting educators’ use of racial quotas when they mete out suspensions or expulsions among students. Such quotas have generated much discussion since President Barack Obama endorsed their use in 2014. At the time, the Obama administration informed school personnel nationwide that

Truckers are celebrating President Donald Trump’s decision to restore enforcement of a rule that excludes foreign truckers from the roads if they cannot read English-language signs and instructions. “They’re celebrating … Everybody’s excited, they’re happy,” said Shannon Everett, a cofounder of American Truckers United. who explained the truckers’ problems to Breitbart News in March. The change is set by an executive order to be signed by Trump on Monday. The order tells Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy “to ensure drivers violating English proficiency rules are placed out-of-service, enhancing roadway safety,” and directs him to revamp other aspects of the trucking industry.

President Donald Trump and I will be taking steps to rescind Obama-era rules to treat English as a second language on the road. Federal law is clear, a driver who cannot sufficiently read or speak English—our native language—and understand road signs is unqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle in America. However, President Obama sacrificed driver safety when he lowered the penalty for violators of the English proficiency rule on the road. This language requirement is in place for obvious reasons. Drivers, especially operators of heavy vehicles, need to understand critical traffic information like warnings for steep grades or dangerous conditions.
