In his final act as pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church, Francis, in keeping with his deep commitment to the climate and well-cultivated image of personal humility, could have foregone a papal funeral.
To the thousands of world leaders and dignitaries flying to Rome as required by international protocol, Pope Francis could have extended an invitation to stay home. He could have ordered he not lie in state, preventing the Vatican pilgrimage of hundreds of thousands of faithful to pay their respects. He could have even skipped the motorcade through the streets of Rome. All this, as a memorable gesture to maintain a smaller carbon footprint — one last gift

As President Donald Trump’s trade policies take effect, record tariff revenues have begun flowing into U.S. government coffers.

A federal prosecutor sent a letter to another medical journal, the New England Journal of Medicine, the journal said on April 23.
The journal received a letter from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia,
Dr. Eric Rubin, who works at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is the journal’s editor-in-chief, responded to the letter by telling the office that the journal “publishes evidence-based scientific information that physicians can trust in delivering high-quality medical care.” (snip) He concluded: “We support the editorial independence of medical journals and their First Amendment rights to free expression. The Journal actively fosters scholarly scientific dialogue and remains steadfast in its commitment to

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, working in conjunction with local law enforcement in Florida, have arrested nearly 800 illegal immigrants across the state in the past four days, the agency announced on April 26.
While ICE has routinely conducted immigration enforcement operations throughout the United States, the agency referred to Florida’s effort, dubbed Operation Tidal Wave, as a “first-of-its-kind” effort pairing federal immigration authorities with state and local law enforcement resources.
In their April 26 press statement, ICE pitched other law enforcement agencies on the idea of working with the agency, linking to a page promoting the 287(g) program.

I don’t understand how people can become so shameless. How does one’s ego get so big that refusing to apologize is considered an acceptable course of action? How dense does the bubble have to be? The liberal media gathered in the nation’s capital for ‘nerd prom,’ also known as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where the lead outlets that form the state propaganda apparatus for the Democratic Party gather to congratulate themselves for being biased clowns. (snip)But we had Associated Press reporters touting their phantom nonpartisan roots last night and a passionate war cry that journalists are not the enemies of the people or the state.

Next year marks the 250th anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence — the semiquincentennial. Unfortunately, instead of a yearlong birthday party and a celebration of American history, the stage is being set for 2026 to be a year of neurotic self-loathing.
The U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission (also called America 250) was created to provide national coordination for next year’s commemorative events. Ostensibly, each state and territory has also appointed its own independent committee to plan more local contributions to the festivities. In reality, a minimum of 14 states have adopted programming recommendations from a single non-profit called the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH).

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said thousands of illegal immigrants have registered on the CBP Home app to self-deport, and that those who have not yet done so will face consequences.
“In less than 100 days, thousands of illegal aliens have used the CBP Home app to self-deport,” DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Epoch Times via email on April 22.
McLaughlin said that illegal immigrants still residing in the country must immediately use the CBP Home app to leave the country, or they will face penalties.“This includes a fine of $998 per day for every day that the illegal alien overstayed their final deportation order,” McLaughlin added.

Not a day seems to go by without some activist lower court judge issuing an overreaching injunction blocking part of President Trump’s agenda.
Throughout Wednesday and Thursday alone, judges across multiple venues handed down decrees barring numerous executive actions taken by the president since returning to office. From DEI to election policy, these cases are but a few of the more than 170 lawsuits Democrats and left-wing political actors have filed to sabotage Trump and the 77 million Americans who voted for him.
Despite this clear effort to destroy American democracy via a judicial coup, the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) seems to have no interest in stopping it

Former Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Joel Cano and his wife, Nancy Cano, were taken into custody Thursday after federal agents raided their Las Cruces home.
The two face charges of evidence tampering amid allegations they harbored Cristhian Ortega-Lopez, an alleged illegal alien who is also believed to be a member of Venezuela’s notorious Tren de Aragua gang.
"Under President Trump, we have arrested over 150,000 aliens—including more than 600 members of the vicious Tren de Aragua gang," said Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem. "If you are here illegally and break the law, we will hunt you down, arrest you and lock you up. That's a promise."

Somehow, in today’s upside-down world, the radicalized left has decided that violent gang members are the new underdogs they need to defend. Instead of standing up for law-abiding American citizens, they’ve gone all-in on protecting the worst of the worst—drug traffickers, sex offenders, murderers, and now, even foreign-backed gangbangers.(snip)According to Fox’s exclusive report, the FBI has uncovered a plot that includes Venezuelan officials helping gang members sneak into the US—and not just to commit random crimes, but to carry out Maduro’s sinister agenda. According to the report, these gangbangers are being used like pawns in a proxy war and were sent here to intimidate and possibly kill critics

President Trump’s patience with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is obviously wearing thin. However, the key for President Trump to change the dynamic; the thing he is inarguably trying to avoid; is a full U.S withdrawal and subsequent isolation for Zelenskyy.resident Trump via Truth Social:
“Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is boasting on the front page of The Wall Street Journal that, “Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There’s nothing to talk about here.”
This statement is very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia in that Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama, and is not even a point of discussion.

President Donald Trump will be holding a celebration of his 100 days in office during a stop in Michigan. It makes sense to pick Michigan as the auto industry is representative of the Trump global trade reset and tariff program. So far, eleven new or expanded U.S. automotive factories have been announced as major automakers seek to establish production lines in the USA to avoid 25% auto tariffs. The latest announcement was from Toyota, for expanded facilities in West Virginia.
“Toyota Motor Corporation’s North American manufacturing subsidiary,(snip) announced this week that it plans to invest a further US$88 million in its West Virginia plant
