PORTLAND, Ore. — U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.) was greeted to the sound of booing during her fourth town hall with hundreds of her constituents in Vancouver Thursday night. The second-term congresswoman received tough feedback from those who voted for her, facing major backlash for her vote in support of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, among other things. Most people at the town hall started booing immediately after Gluesenkamp Perez stepped onto the stage. The congresswoman was not able to get many words in throughout the entire hour-long event. Many people at the event who spoke with KOIN

Comments:

Dems are savaging one of their own. She left the event fearing for her own security. More proof that radicals are taking over Democrat party.

The article states that those booing her were constituents and those that voted for her. I doubt KOIN has any way to verify that. They may be just agitators.

If she's an Oregon rep, why is she having a town hall meeting in Vancouver WA?

Of course the democrats stand against her. They want to continue cheating. That's been a tradition and the only way they will get to stay in office.

There is a Vancouver in Canada, and one in Washington state. None in Oregon, as far as I can tell. Why would this Oregon politician be having a meeting in either Washington or Canada?

We have some commenters here who are not familiar with the Portland, OR area. Congratulations -- though it was beautiful 30 years ago when I lived there (and I only stayed for ~5 years), it's devolved into a hell hole since then... so all of you have side-stepped what could have been a living nightmare, if you ever considered moving there. There is a Vancouver in Washington state, and it's right across from Portland. The two cities (and state boundaries) are separated by the Columbia River. The area's media outlets are concentrated in Portland; hence KOIN crossing the river to cover the Rep's town hall with her agitat-- --er, constituents... Here's a map (not a sop to Microsoft, I just like these maps more than others these days) showing the area: https://www.bing.com/maps?FORM=Z9LH2&cp=45.540824%7E-122.655411&lvl=12.0

SAN FRANCISCO — Another major retailer in San Francisco’s Union Square is closing next month. Saks Fifth Avenue is closing its downtown store at 384 Post St., a Saks Global spokesperson said in a statement. The retailer cited the decision to close as one to “focus on long-term growth.” The store’s last day will be on Saturday, May 10. Saks says customers can visit its sister company store, Neiman Marcus, about two blocks away on Stockton Street. The two companies are both subsidiaries of Saks Global. While we saw meaningful engagement and success through the appointment-only format, we have made

Political parties need votes from people, and voters do not like being murdered or seeing their countrymen killed. So you would expect all politicians to take their side on least on this. But when it comes to Democrats, you’d be wrong about that. (Snip) Democrats have long been wandering down this path, but now they seem to be running down it. And when you watch the latest chapter of this saga — the love affair between Democratic politicians and MS-13 gangsters — you almost can’t avoid asking what the political left has against our country, and why it is so

WASHINGTON – Since the pandemic, federal student loan borrowers have been mostly protected from the harshest consequences of not paying back their loans. That's about to change, and quickly. Linda McMahon, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Education, said the federal government will resume involuntary collections for borrowers in default on May 5. In two weeks, loan holders will start the process of taking money from the paychecks of borrowers who've missed their payments for 270 days or more. They'll also start moving to collect from other federal payments, including tax refunds and Social Security benefits. The change, which McMahon

Democrats’ panic over what they stand for and whether they can credibly compete beyond the bluest states is already erupting in the rush to recruit Senate candidates across the country for next year — a desperate effort to dig out from years of losses that have them far from power at a moment they need it most. Will Democrats, indeed, compete everywhere in 2026? Will leaders allocate money even in tough races, or will they consolidate conservatively around their best bets? How will they handle what could be candidates who range from being aligned with Bernie Sanders to occasionally voting

Here at American Thinker, we predicted that AOC is a real possibility as the 2028 Democrat party presidential candidate. Yesterday, AOC made it plain that she thinks so, too. AOC’s appeal to the left is obvious: She’s female, glib, telegenic, well-recognized, vaguely Hispanic, antisemitic, and a truly leftist ideologue. Bernie Sanders rightly sees her as the bridge between his old-fashioned class warfare and the new multi-culti warfare, both vehicles for the Marxist overthrow of the West. That’s why the two of them have been appearing in venues across America to rally the true believers.
