On average, Americans pay about twice what other countries do for prescription drugs. Thanks to President Trump’s aggressive tariffs and the global trade war they are inciting, they might soon pay even more. In his remarks announcing tariffs last week, Trump said, “The pharmaceutical companies are going to come roaring back. … because if they don't, they've got a big tax to pay,...” When they do, one of the biggest losers would likely be generic drug manufacturers...they account for about 90% of all prescriptions in the United States, a huge segment of Americans...

But if we compare Biden’s economy to 2019—the last full year before the pandemic—many key indicators show not a robust rebound but an economy weighed down by inflation, debt, and diminished purchasing power. Real wages are down. From January 2021 to May 2024, average hourly earnings for private-sector workers fell by 2.24% when adjusted for inflation.

On April 3, Bloomberg reported that Republicans “are weighing the creation of a new bracket for those earning $1 million or more to offset some of the costs of their tax bill.” Earlier in the year, Politico reported that members of the House Freedom Caucus were considering boosting the corporate tax rate to 25% to “pay for” a doubling of the cap on state and local tax deductions. As our friend Steve Moore put it: “I mean, Republicans, are they crazy?” “Crazy” is putting it mildly.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth provided updates on the military campaign against the Houthis in Yemen, signaling the armed terror group was getting shelled and things were only about to intensify. Hegseth made the comments during President Trump's Oval Office meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Pentagon chief indicated that the United States military would continue to protect American interests in the region and would only relent if the Iran-backed proxy group ceased firing upon American ships. “It’s been a bad three weeks for the Houthis, and it’s about to get worse,” Hegseth told reporters.

An Indian government official reportedly told Bloomberg News on Sunday that his government is “unlikely to immediately retaliate against President Donald Trump’s tariff imposition.” Instead, New Delhi hopes to work out a deal to reduce tariffs and trade barriers on both sides, according to the media outlet. The unnamed bureaucrat expressed India’s desire to seek “dialogue and not confrontation” and “work toward a balanced and equitable trade deal with the U.S.” The South Asian nation was hit with a 26 percent tariff last Wednesday, plus the standard ten percent applied to every other country, when President Trump revealed his schedule of levies

The desperate Dems, pole-axed by Trump’s fast start on his second term, have revved up their TDS Rube Goldberg scandal machine. The so-called SignalGate affair is being vigorously flogged, with the usual help from Republican Fifth Columnists. But the “-gate” suffix doesn’t mean what the Democrats think it does. Recently, a group meeting including Trump, Vice President Vance, Def Sec Peter Hegseth, and other defense and national security officials, convened to discuss a punitive attack on Yemen’s Houthi terrorists, and inadvertently included Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg, best known for his inveterate, hysterical hatred of Donald Trump, and his eager peddling of the preposterous Russia hoax.

It has been a while since Democrats have assassinated a Republican president, but that peaceful interlude may be ending soon. You likely have heard about a survey report by the Network Contagion Research Institute and Rutgers University’s Social Perception Lab, which examines the growing tolerance for violence in American society. Or, rather, on America’s Left: Political violence targeting Donald Trump and Elon Musk is becoming increasingly normalized. Following the July 13, 2024 attempted assassination of President Trump, tolerance – and even advocacy – for political violence appears to have surged, especially among politically left-leaning segments of the population. Congestion pricing will likely remain in the heart of Manhattan until the fall under an agreement struck between the Trump administration and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority — before a federal judge then ultimately decides the controversial toll’s fate, according to court documents. The revelation came Monday after the deal was conveyed to Judge Lewis Liman on Friday — the same day US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy rode the beleaguered city subway system with Mayor Eric Adams and ripped the MTA for its high spending.Congestion pricing will remain in the heart of Manhattan until at least the fall, according to court documents.

A tony New Jersey city is considering approving a controversial new ordinance that would fine or jail homeless people found sleeping in public spaces. Summit Councilman Jamel Boyer, a Republican, introduced the ordinance last Tuesday, claiming it serves to “preserve the safe and accessible use of public property for all residents, pedestrians and businesses.” The ordinance in Summit would prohibit the homeless from camping in public areas, including parks, sidewalks, alleyways, and benches. If approved, anyone found violating the ordinance would face a fine of up to $2,000 “and/or imprisonment or community service for a term not to exceed ninety days,” the order says. A similar ordinance was presented in Morristown, NJ,

Get ready for the crazy train because it’s leaving the station and picking up steam. That’s what Democrats are doing now, having fallen completely out of power. They know they have no argument FOR their policies, so they make arguments AGAINST anything Republicans are trying to do. Simply saying “no” means that they absolve themselves of any responsibility, which only really flies with people you obey without question – very good dogs willing to do whatever they are told. In other words, Democrat voters.

No society can function without police enforcing the law, yet who can expect them to do that if thugs who kill cops don’t pay a sufficient price? As The Post reported Sunday, gangbanger David McClary — who put five bullets into the head of 22-year-old rookie Eddie Byrne — is up for parole this month, poised to become the 44th cop-killer sprung early from prison these last eight years. That’s right: Forty-three savages who had the audacity to murder cops, a clear attack on civilized society, who have already walked free.

Taiwanese President William Lai Ching-te on Sunday proposed zero tariffs, lower trade barriers, and more investment in the United States instead of retaliating against President Donald Trump’s tariff increases. President Trump’s tariff announcement on Wednesday included 32 percent on all Taiwanese exports except semiconductors, which are Taiwan’s most celebrated and economically significant product. Trump had threatened in March to include Taiwanese semiconductors on his tariff list, because he said Taiwan “stole” the industry from America with unfair trade practices.

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the State Department worked closely together to eliminate the requirement that foreign service officers' performance be evaluated based on the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This change ends a measure put in place during the Biden Administration, which dictated that 20% of diplomats' performance evaluations must be based on DEI-related efforts. Through a social media post, DOGE reported that, in conjunction with the State Department, it has worked to eliminate this requirement, which did not reflect the true merit of officials. DOGE maintains that evaluations should focus exclusively on professional performance and efficiency,

An appeals court on Monday cleared the way for billionaire Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency to once again access people’s private data at three federal agencies, a win for the Trump administration as the underlying lawsuit plays out. In a split ruling, the three-judge panel blocked a lower court decision that halted DOGE access at the Education Department, the Treasury Department and the Office of Personnel Management. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has also sided with the Trump administration in other cases, including allowing DOGE access to U.S. Agency for International Development and letting executive orders against diversity, equity and inclusion move forward.

So, this is anti-human, … if you’re talking about, basically, the life of a human being as just an economic problem. Remember this, that the left sees everything as a money issue.” He added that many horror movies start with premises that aren’t as sinister as averting births and “this is the road to genocide. … It is not about safe, legal, and rare abortions.

WASHINGTON — The White House warned Monday that President Trump would veto a bipartisan bill that would mandate congressional approval of all tariffs should it arrive on his desk. Trump’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said the measure introduced last week by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) “would severely constrain the President’s ability to use authorities long recognized by Congress and upheld by the courts to respond to national emergencies and foreign threats.” The Trade Review Act also “eliminates leverage over foreign trading partners, inhibits reshoring and supply chain resilience, fosters market uncertainty, and introduces procedural micromanagement,” the OMB Statement of Administration Policy added.
