The federal judge who blocked the Trump administration's use of a 1798 wartime law to immediately deport Venezuelan nationals canceled a planned Tuesday court hearing to review the case after the Supreme Court handed a win to the president. In a minute order published Tuesday morning, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg announced that the previously scheduled Tuesday afternoon hearing would be vacated in light of the high court's ruling, which determined, among other things, that the "appropriate venue for such proceedings is the Southern District of Texas," or wherever plaintiffs that are subject to potential removal are currently being held.

Looks like "Justice" Boasberg threw his toys at the wall and slammed the door to his room in a tantrum. Wearing a black robe does not make you a self-appointed all-knowing arbiter of justice, little Jim. Stay in your lane and don't color outside the lines like a good boy.

It appears as though Boasberg is following CJ John Roberts orders -- and that Roberts finally got the clue that Congress *could* remove lower court judges from their positions according to Rep. Andy Biggs' reading of The Constitution. Roberts has had a moment of sanity here... but he's still past the 12-18 year expiration date I'd like to see imposed on SC members via an amendment limiting their terms.

Since that has freed up some time for you James, why don't you use it to compose your resignation? More time with the family, much needed rest, you know, the thing.

Yep, sees that he's losing this one. Probably got a phone call from Roberts to "cut this crap out".

CJ Roberts realized that if he lets the likes of Boasberg continue, they will come for him. Nothing clears the mind like the prospect of being hanged in the morning. Wonder what Justice Barrett has been thinking though.

4 US Supreme Court justices agree with Boasberg. This country is hanging on to the ideals of our founders by a thread.

RE #11, I'll have to agree with your friend. Three COEQUAL branches. The President is over the Executive Branch ONLY.

#11: When I was a high-school junior in the late 1970s, a social studies teacher said we had 3 equal branches, too, and that the judiciary had supremacy... and I believed that for a lot of my adult life... until Dr. Mark Levin began publishing his books in the early 2000s. Since then, it's become clear to me that the founding fathers created only *two* equal branches -- the executive (headed by the president) and the legislative (Congress). The only piece of the judiciary that was defined in The Constitution was the Supreme Court, and its primary role was to arbitrate disputes between the executive and legislative branches and between (and among) the states. All of the lower courts are creations of Congress... and that's why the judicial branch is *not* a branch equal to the other two.
Thanks to CJ Marshall (in Marbury v. Madison), the SC drastically increased its powers by asserting the right of "judicial review"... and they maintained that increased power only because the executive and legislative branches acceded to it. We have, since then, tolerated a judiciary that often exceeds its authority under The Constitution and the legislation in Congress that created the lower courts, with lower court potentates like Boasberg asserting that judicial review rights also apply to lower courts. They don't, because those courts are creations of Congress, period. Congress just has to occasionally remind the judiciary of this. The reminder was just issued... and received.

He should be demoted or fired. Consequences. He can always take his case to court.

What a travesty. President Trump is using his powers under the Constitution and the Alien and Enemies Act. The courts have no power over this. This judge needs to stop.

So the gang members have to get hearing where they were picked up (Texas, in this case)? That should move them into blue districts. Get ready to live with your choices, democrats--gang members are on their way!
