Doral, Fla. — Wilmer Escaray left Venezuela in 2007 and enrolled at Miami Dade College, opening his first restaurant six years later.
Today he has a dozen businesses that hire Venezuelan migrants like he once was, workers who are now terrified by what could be the end of their legal shield from deportation.
Since the start of February the Trump administration has ended two federal programs that together allowed more 700,000 Venezuelans to live and work legally in the U.S. along with hundreds of thousands of Cubans, Haitians and Nicaraguans.

A Chinese woman detained by border patrol officers for overstaying her visa died by suicide at the US Border Patrol station in Arizona after officers reportedly failed to perform required welfare checks on her, US Representative Pramila Jayapal alleged.
The woman, a 52-year-old Chinese national, was picked up in California after authorities determined she overstayed her B1/B2 visitor visa, Jayapal said in a statement last week. She was sent to the Yuma station in Arizona and was detained there until her sudden death on March 29.

Lake Butler, Fla.— Jay North, who starred as the towheaded mischief maker on TV’s “Dennis the Menace” for four seasons starting in 1959, has died. He was 73.
North died Sunday at his home in Lake Butler, Florida, after battling colon cancer, said Laurie Jacobson, a longtime friend, and Bonnie Vent, who was his booking agent.
“He had a heart as big as a mountain, loved his friends deeply. He called us frequently and ended every conversation with ‘I love you with all my heart,’” Jacobson wrote in a tribute on Facebook.
North was 6 when he was cast as the smiling troublemaker in the CBS sitcom adaptation of Hank Ketcham’s

President Trump stood by his wide-scale tariffs, calling them a “beautiful thing to behold” that will eventually be largely supported even as the stock futures dropped Sunday evening.
“They are already in effect, and a beautiful thing to behold. The Surplus with these Countries has grown during the ‘Presidency’ of Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump blasted out on Truth Social Sunday night as he attempted to justify the action he took against around 90 nations last week.
“We are going to reverse it, and reverse it QUICKLY. Some day people will realize that Tariffs, for the United States of America, are a very beautiful thing!”

Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has filed a resolution to remove U.S. District Court Judge James E. Boasberg for failing to uphold the Constitution’s “good behavior” clause—without requiring the traditional two-thirds Senate vote.
The resolution, submitted in the House of Representatives, alleges Judge Boasberg—currently Chief Judge of the powerful United States District Court for the District of Columbia—knowingly abused his position to interfere with the constitutional authority of President Donald Trump.
The resolution declares Judge Boasberg’s conduct a breach of constitutional order, particularly his unlawful meddling in President Trump’s lawful directive

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.— President Donald Trump plans to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday in what would be their second White House sit-down since Trump’s return to office.
The visit, confirmed by a White House official and Netanyahu’s office Saturday, comes as Israel deploys troops in a new security corridor across Gaza to pressure the Hamas militant group. Netanyahu’s defense minister has said Israel will seize large areas of the territory and add them to its so-called security zones.
Last month, Israel shattered the ceasefire with a surprise bombardment in Gaza after trying to pressure Hamas to accept proposed new terms for the ceasefire,

Virginia’s Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears is being congratulated for becoming the only Republican nominee in the governor’s race that will culminate on November 4.
The news comes after former state Sen. Amanda Chase and former Del. Dave LaRock did not make it onto the ballot after they were unable to gather enough signatures, WTOP reported Sunday.
In a social media post Saturday, the Virginia GOP announced Earle-Sears was the nominee and praised her work over the past four years:
As the sole candidate to qualify for the Republican primary ballot on June 17th, Sears will be the Republican Party’s nominee for Governor on the November 4th ballot.

Washington, DC — Dr. Sebastian Gorka, the Senior Director of Counterterrorism for the National Security Council (NSC) and a Deputy Assistant to President Donald Trump, told Breitbart News in a lengthy exclusive interview at the White House that Trump has totally reframed how the United States approaches elimination of jihadist terrorists.
“Let’s be clear—President Trump through his National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and it’s not an accident for the first time in history a former Green Beret is the National Security Adviser, has done a 180 on our counterterrorism policy,” Gorka told Breitbart News. “Let me illustrate this by an incredible story that’s now declassified from the second week

The artist behind a portrait of Donald Trump in the Colorado State Capitol says her career could be in tatters now that the president has besmirched it on social media.
Sarah Boardman’s painting of the president had hung in the Denver building for six years before Trump called it “purposefully distorted” and “truly the worst” on his Truth Social platform in January, prompting state lawmakers to yank it off the wall.
Now the artist’s 41-year career “is in danger of not recovering” from the backlash, Boardman said in a statement on her website on Saturday.

As predictable as the sun rising in the East: the media’s silence in the face of President Joe Biden’s evident cognitive decline is met with a deluge of books, by some of those same media types, chronicling that decline in detail.
This helps explain the rationale behind this weird exchange between CNN’s Jake Tapper (co-author with Axios’ Alex Thompson of “Original Sin”, to be released next month) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, wherein he presses Walz on whether Biden running for re-election was a mistake: (X) Jake Tapper was one of the chief pushers of “Biden has a stutter” as cover for the decline that was obvious to the rest

On Saturday, conservative journalist and warrior for justice Julie Kelly uncovered a bombshell in the transcript from Thursday’s hearing in a radical District judge’s courtroom regarding whether the Trump Administration has the authority under the Alien Enemies Act to deport violent illegal aliens.
As Jim Hoft previously reported, Judge James Boasberg, who is running a coup-d-etat of the executive branch, is considering holding Trump officials in contempt for not turning planes around mid-flight and returning over one hundred killers, gangsters, r*pists, and other criminal illegals back to the US.
