Elon Musk visited the National Security Agency on Wednesday, according to an agency spokesperson. The initially undisclosed meeting comes roughly a week after the Trump ally said the U.S. intelligence agency needed to be overhauled. Musk’s visit was first reported by The Wall Street Journal. A NSA spokesperson confirmed that Musk met with NSA chief Gen. Timothy Haugh in what was Musk’s first visit to the agency. While it remains unclear what Musk and Haugh discussed, NSA’s statement said the meeting helped facilitate coordination between the agency and the Trump administration. “NSA and CYBERCOM are focused on the president, SECDEF and DNI’s priorities;

They should give Elon one of the security clearances made available by the fifty-one intelligence dummies so he can analyze things on the inside. The NSA has become so compartmented and hidden that even they do not know what they are doing.

NSA: "Welcome to NSA, Mr Musk. We have arranged a tour, a presentation, and a nice lunch." Musk: "Great. By the way, you're fired."

I think we all knew this was coming. As Ed pointed out a few hours ago, Schumer had already signaled he was caving by lunchtime today. So this afternoon he made it official in another speech. "Republican rejection leads us to a decision, and it's not really a decision it's a Hobson's choice," Schumer said. He continued, "Either proceed with the bill before us or risk Donald Trump throwing America into the chaos of a shutdown. This is my view is no choice at all. "While the CR bill is very bad, the potential for a shutdown has consequences for America that are much, much worse."

Columbia University announced Thursday it has expelled or suspended students who expressed anti-Israel sentiments while occupying a campus building last spring. The Ivy League school has also revoked the diplomas of some graduates. Columbia’s judicial board issued “multi-year suspensions, temporary degree revocations, and expulsions” related to the forcible takeover of Hamilton Hall, the New York university said in a campus-wide email. The number of punished students was not provided. The announcement comes as Columbia faces a fierce crackdown from the Trump administration over the elite school’s failure to protect Jewish students and punish those engaging in antisemitism on campus.

The Trump administration and Department of Government Efficiency are proposing a dramatic downsizing of the IRS that would result in a nearly 20% reduction of its workforce by May 15 — one month after Tax Day in the United States. President Donald Trump has ordered agencies across the federal government to turn in their “large scale” layoff plans — known as Reduction in Force, or RIF — by Thursday. The details of the IRS proposal have been laid out in an email from DOGE and will be discussed at a meeting among agency leadership Thursday morning, according to a source familiar with the matter who asked to remain anonymous for fear

A mere day after Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) proclaimed that Republicans don't have the votes to clear the way for a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government through September, the New York Democrat has caved and will vote for cloture to allow the recently passed CR a vote in the Senate. "Republicans do not have the votes in the Senate to invoke cloture on the House CR," Schumer proclaimed Wednesday. "Funding the government should be a bipartisan effort, but Republicans chose a partisan path drafting their continuing resolution without any input from congressional Democrats." Schumer’s grandstanding on Wednesday sure looked like a bluff — a desperate attempt to strong-arm the GOP

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stepped Democrats away from the edge of a shutdown on Thursday — warning that repercussions of closing the federal government would be worse than the only viable alternative, passing the House GOP funding bill that many in Schumer's party loathe. Schumer’s remarks — made first during a closed-door lunch with his colleagues Thursday and then from the Senate floor in a lengthy speech — are a significant indication that enough Senate Democrats will vote to advance the House GOP bill and avoid a shutdown that would start after midnight Friday. “It’s not really a decision. It’s a Hobson’s choice,"

Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Thursday the Trump administration’s cease-fire proposal with Ukraine in its current form and demanded further concessions, including that the U.S. and Europe cut off arms shipments to Ukraine, before Moscow agrees to halt fighting. “We agree with proposals to cease hostilities [in Ukraine], but this cessation must lead to a long-term peace and eliminate the root cause of the initial crisis,” Putin said Thursday, without detailing what he believes the root causes to be.

Washington — A federal judge in California ordered six federal agencies to reinstate probationary employees who were fired last month, finding that their terminations by the Office of Personnel Management were unlawful. U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco handed down his order in a challenge brought by a group of unions against the Trump administration from the bench. He said that neither OPM nor its Acting Director Charles Ezell had the authority to direct the terminations across agencies. The order extends relief to fired workers at the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Defense, Energy, Interior and Treasury. Europe, particularly the Brussels Brahmin crowd and the over-educated British elites now at the head of their disastrous Labour government, really can't stand Donald Trump. He's worse than the stereotypical 'cowboy' - the buckaroo they have always had such fun mocking. The part they've never bothered with is taking time to study their chimerical adversary. The one who's actually on their side - just wants them to pull their own weight, although he's not averse to watching them chase their tails. Bill Gates funds a climate change policy group called Breakthrough Energy aimed at reducing carbon emissions. The group seems to combine investments in clean energy tech as well as lobbying for public policy. This pitch for the group was posted four years ago. But as of today, Gates appears to be pulling back pretty dramatically on this one-stop climate shop. He is cutting staff here and abroad. Dozens of staff members were cut, including Breakthrough Energy’s unit in Europe, its team in the United States working on public policy issues and most of its employees working on partnerships with other climate organizations, according to three people

Senate Democrats are dancing with the devil in the sinister form of a Schumer shutdown. Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) announced Wednesday afternoon following a lunch with his Democrat caucus that he would reject a House-passed government plan to keep the government funded past the Friday deadline through the end of the fiscal year, September 30. “Funding the government should be a bipartisan effort, but Republicans chose a partisan path, drafting their continuing resolution without any input — any input — from congressional Democrats,” Schumer said on the Senate floor.

Democrat governors have a “resistance” playbook created for them that includes draft executive orders to defy the administration’s immigration policies as well as instructions on deploying the National Guard. The Governors Action Alliance, a Democrat organization that founded the group Governors Safeguarding Democracy, provided such guidance to the staffs of Democrat governors across the country after the election of President Donald Trump. The 126 pages of the playbook—including emails, talking points, and a “Firewalling for Freedom – Template Gubernatorial Executive Order”—were obtained in a public records request from the office of Pennsylvania Gov. SAUGATUCK, Mich. — Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is set to announce that he will not seek an open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, a move that leaves the door wide open for him to seek a much bigger role as his party’s next presidential nominee. Since his role in the Biden administration ended in late January, Buttigieg has spent months considering his next move, including a serious look at the unexpectedly open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, where he relocated in recent years. But many prominent allies he consulted believed he could not realistically pursue the Senate seat while

If failed vice-presidential candidate and current Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) made his intention to run in 2028 any clearer, it'd require him to rip his shirt off and paint it on his chest. He's clearly working toward a presidential run after faceplanting with Kamala Harris, and his strategy appears to be shouting and screaming his way to the nomination. I'm less than convinced that will pay off for him, but here we go. You won’t be surprised by the latest unhinged rant from longtime Democratic strategist James Carville—at this point, it’s just par for the course. Once a sharp political operator, Carville has devolved into a rabid left-wing activist, so consumed by partisanship that he’s lost any credibility as a serious political analyst. It’s seriously pathetic. So, what has he done now to warrant my attention? Well, Carville had the audacity to claim that the Trump administration represents “the most serious crisis” America has ever faced. That’s right—worse than the Civil War, Pearl Harbor, or even 9/11. You can’t make this stuff up. During an appearance on "The Chris Cuomo Project," Carville declared,
