President Donald Trump on Friday congratulated Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for “doing the right thing” by backing the Republican-led bill to avert a government shutdown, a choice that's put the New York Democrat at odds with many in his party. “A non pass would be a Country destroyer, approval will lead us to new heights," wrote the president Friday morning on Truth Social. "Again, really good and smart move by Senator Schumer,” wrote the president on Truth Social. "Took 'guts' and courage!" Trump added. No “guts” on Scumer’s part. Just being mugged by an ugly dose of reality.

#2 The Republicans need at least a 60/40 vote to get closure so there is no tie for Vance to break. He only gets to vote to break a 50/50 deadlock.

Sounds like President Trump. Maneuver his opponent into an impossible situation, then say something nice about them -even someone as dishonest and crooked at Chuck-the-Schmuck- as they cave.

At least five well-known conservatives with large followings on Elon Musk's X social media platform were "swatted" overnight. These attempts by unknowns to get conservatives killed in a hail of law enforcement gunfire appear to be part of an organized effort to affect politics by acts of violence. That is the textbook definition of terrorism, and it appears to be organized. That's dark enough, but things could be worse than that. Add to the swattings the attempted take over of Trump Tower, and in February, an aborted take over the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, the organized Tesla dealership attacks, and the strange and frightening attacks

For most of the past five years, a whole lot of otherwise seemingly intelligent people insisted Covid-19 was just a really unlucky naturally occurring bat virus that just happened to mutate in a way that made it nearly ideal for infecting human beings, and it coincidentally popped up down the road from an institution that was doing gain-of-function research on coronaviruses found in horseshoe bats in a lab that wasn’t up to the international standards for doing that kind of research. To quote the late Norm Macdonald, “or so the Germans would have us believe.” Actually, it turns out that the German government’s intelligence service

Vice President JD Vance went to Michigan, a Democrat-run state that the Trump-Vance ticket won in 2024, to speak to workers at a Vantage Plastics manufacturing plant there. Vance praised manufacturing for “generating economic opportunity in this region of our country,” adding, “If we do not protect our nation's manufacturers, we lose a fundamental part of who we are as a people. Making things, building things, working with our hands is America's heritage — and that heritage is alive and well in this facility.” One of the Trump administration’s major stated goals is to bring manufacturing back to America from foreign countries

Tactically, Sen. Schumer is right: Being (justifiably) blamed for a government shutdown wouldn’t help his party. And Democratic strategists like James Carville are also right: There’s nothing to be gained by “winning” the news cycle in the middle of March in an odd-numbered year. It’s smarter to play dead, give the opposition just enough rope to hang themselves, and rejoin the game a few months later to “save the day.” It's like the old saying goes: We can’t miss ya if ya never go away. As a long-term PR strategy, the Democrats would love to create the impression that they really, truly tried to cooperate with President Trump

He continued, "Either proceed with the bill before us or risk Donald Trump throwing America into the chaos of a shutdown. This is my view is no choice at all. Washington — A federal judge in California ordered six federal agencies to reinstate probationary employees who were fired last month, finding that their terminations by the Office of Personnel Management were unlawful. U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco handed down his order in a challenge brought by a group of unions against the Trump administration from the bench. He said that neither OPM nor its Acting Director Charles Ezell had the authority to direct the terminations across agencies. The order extends relief to fired workers at the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Defense, Energy, Interior and Treasury. SAUGATUCK, Mich. — Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is set to announce that he will not seek an open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, a move that leaves the door wide open for him to seek a much bigger role as his party’s next presidential nominee. Since his role in the Biden administration ended in late January, Buttigieg has spent months considering his next move, including a serious look at the unexpectedly open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, where he relocated in recent years. But many prominent allies he consulted believed he could not realistically pursue the Senate seat while

The 126 pages of the playbook—including emails, talking points, and a “Firewalling for Freedom – Template Gubernatorial Executive Order”—were obtained in a public records request from the office of Pennsylvania Gov. I'm less than convinced that will pay off for him, but here we go. America's finger-wagger-in-chief is on the case of Department of Education cuts, and he's furious at President Donald Trump about it.
