Senators from a key health panel on Thursday bombarded Dr. Marty Makary, President Donald Trump’s nominee to run the Food and Drug Administration, with an onslaught of questions ranging from the safety of abortion pills to seed oils. Makary, a surgeon from Johns Hopkins University, received a warm welcome from both sides of the aisle in a cordial confirmation hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. Democrats and Republicans alike asked him tough questions on many topics. As FDA commissioner, Makary would oversee the safety and efficacy of drugs, vaccines, foods, and medical devices, playing a central role in Trump’s “Make America Healthy Again” agenda.

He IS the wrong man. He was full on behind the clot shot, masking, shutdowns, kiddie shots, the whole nine yards, until it was no longer fashionable to think that way, and completely changed his mind overnight. He's the wrong guy for bug catcher.

President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order later Friday excluding certain student loan borrowers from the popular Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump accused the PSLF program of including organizations that “engage in illegal, or what we would consider to be improper, activities.” PSLF, which President George W. Bush signed into law in 2007, allows many not-for-profit and government employees to have their federal student loans canceled after 10 years of payments. In his first few months in office, Trump has cracked down on illegal immigration as well diversity efforts across the public and private sector. Many nonprofits work in these spaces,

Donald Trump is being lobbied to make Puerto Rico an independent nation and save American taxpayers $617.8 billion, DailyMail.com has learned. At least two congressional offices are in possession of a seven-page draft 'executive order' on how the U.S. can help the island territory transition to independence. One individual familiar with the document's origins said at least two members of Congress have a copy of the draft, which DailyMail.com has obtained and reviewed. A source familiar with the document's existence disclosed that it is also in the possession of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) and potentially

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has uncovered and cancelled a $56,000 contract it was paying to a “plant contractor” to water eight decorative potted plants — with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) promising to water them “free of charge” from now on. “The VA cancelled a $56,000 contract to water ~8 plants for 5 years. This is ~$1400/plant/year,” DOGE, led by Elon Musk, said in a Thursday night X post: “The contract has been canceled and DOGE will water the plants free of charge,” the department added, along with photos of a pair of the VA’s potted plants next to a sign reading “Please do not water these plants.

Unemployed former Vice President Kamala Harris has apparently given herself a deadline to decide whether she’ll relaunch yet another political campaign — this time for the governor of California. The failed 2024 presidential candidate has reportedly been mulling whether to launch a 2026 California gubernatorial run in a bid to succeed a termed-out Gov. Gavin Newsom. She is slated to make a final decision on her next move by the end of the summer, Politico reported Friday, citing two people familiar with her plans. Harris, 60, has laid out the apparent timeline on a potential gubernatorial bid in calls to supporters, allies and aides over the last few weeks, the sources said.

Failed vice presidential nominee Tim Walz was left visibly stumped when asked who is in charge of the Democrats. The Minnesota governor appeared to struggle when CNN’s Kasie Hunt asked bluntly: “Who do you think the leader of the Democratic Party is right now?” Walz, 60, went silent and stared blankly ahead for several seconds before bumbling with a small laugh: “I think the voting public, right now, is what I would say.” “We’re not going to have a charismatic leader ride in and save us from this,” he conceded of his struggling party.

MAGA activists have turned against one of President Donald Trump's own appointees to the Supreme Court: Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Appointed by Trump in 2020, Barrett is a staunch conservative who has joined major rulings in which the court has moved U.S. law to the right, including on abortion and affirmative action. But that's not enough for some of Trump's most aggressive supporters, who think the former Notre Dame Law School professor has been a disappointment. MAGA supporters see what some call an independent streak as a sign she isn't sufficiently aligned with or loyal to Trump. "She is a rattled law professor with her head

Some illegal aliens crossing into the United States through the southern border have resorted to using “cloned” Border Patrol vehicles to bypass authorities. According to Fox News, this phenomenon has escalated since President Donald Trump’s border crackdown started. "Once they’re in the country, they may be left stranded, extorted or forced into labor," Meesha Moulton, the managing partner and the owner of Meesha Moulton Law in Las Vegas told Fox News. "These organizations are also using fake law enforcement vehicles to transport drugs, weapons and other illegal goods, making it even harder for officials to tell real agents from the criminals impersonating them."

Canadian provinces pulling US alcohol off store shelves in response to Trump trade policy is "worse than tariffs", the boss of Jack Daniel's maker Brown-Forman has said. Several Canadian provinces, including Ontario, which is by far the most populated, took action this week in retaliation for US tariffs on Canadian goods. The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), one of the largest buyers of alcohol in the world, removed US-made alcoholic drinks from its shelves on Tuesday. Brown-Forman boss Lawson Whiting said the Canadian response was "disproportionate" to the 25% levies on Canadian goods imposed by the Trump administration.

The astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams, were originally scheduled for an eight-day mission. A malfunction occurred in their Boeing Starliner during takeoff, with thruster failures and helium leaks affecting the spacecraft. NASA officials deemed a return too risky and the capsule returned to Earth without Wilmore and Williams. Elon Musk’s SpaceX received authorization to run the rescue mission. In an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Musk claimed he could have returned the astronauts home sooner. “We offered to bring them back early,”

Crying poor. Hunter Biden has asked a federal judge to drop the laptop hacking lawsuit he slapped against a former Trump White House aide — because he’s “millions of dollars” in debt, “exacerbated” by losing a home in the Los Angeles wildfires, court filings show. The embattled former first son, 55, blamed the recent fires, as well as dwindling sales from his artwork and memoir, for him being plagued by “significant debt” keeping him from “litigating this case” against Garrett Ziegler, according to a motion filed in federal court in California on Wednesday.

Cairo—The Hamas militant group on Thursday brushed off President Donald Trump’s latest threat and reiterated that it will only free the remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for a lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Hamas accused Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to back out of the ceasefire agreement they reached in January. The agreement calls for negotiations over a second phase in which the hostages would be released in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. We've been covering how extremely anti-Trump Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has been, especially recently, throwing out all sorts of accusations about President Donald Trump. Just when it seems she couldn't go any further, she comes up with a worse comment. Democrats' performative tricks weren't merely limited to the outbursts in the chamber on Tuesday night when Trump gave a speech before a joint session of Congress. Crockett did her own event, "24-Hour State of the People Marathon," meant to counter Trump's speech. It was then that she made some rather noteworthy remarks about Trump, immigration, and black people.

The Biden presidency might have been the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the American people. A shocking investigation by the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project has revealed that virtually every document bearing Joe Biden's signature during his presidency was signed by an autopen — except for one. What makes this revelation particularly damning is that the only document confirmed to have Biden's actual signature was his letter announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race. Let that sink in for a moment. Remember when House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) revealed his discussion with Biden when Biden couldn't recall signing the executive order halting LNG exports?
