Washington—More than 20 civil service employees resigned Tuesday from billionaire Trump adviser Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, saying they were refusing to use their technical expertise to “dismantle critical public services.” “We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” the 21 staffers wrote in a joint resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.” The employees also warned that many of those enlisted by Musk to help him slash the size of the federal government under President Donald Trump’s administration were political ideologues who

Instructs All Federal Agencies to Prepare

The bloated, inefficient, and corrupt federal bureaucracy is finally facing a long-overdue reckoning. President Donald Trump has ordered all federal agencies to prepare for significant reductions in workforce and structural reorganization. According to a newly released memo from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), agencies must submit their initial plans for large-scale reductions in force (RIFs) by March 13, 2025. This directive is part of Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency” Workforce Optimization Initiative, an executive order signed on February 11, 2025, which aims to eliminate waste, bloat, and insularity in Washington’s deep state.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to expand the work of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) even further. While DOGE has been making headlines for looking into the IRS and the Department of Education, under Trump's order DOGE will have even more power over the federal government as a whole. As the executive order makes clear from the start, with its very title, the goal in mind is "cost efficiency," with the executive order being titled "Implementing the President's 'Department of Government Efficiency' Cost Efficiency Initiative."

The Department of Defense has issued new guidance ordering the military services to begin the process of discharging transgender members of the Armed Forces in 30 days. The new policy recognizes only two sexes; it requires members of the Armed Forces to adhere to the physical fitness and grooming standards of their biological sex. Any attempt at chemically or surgically changing sex makes the person unsuitable for military service. If a person had, at some point, been transgender they can be retained if they "demonstrate “36 consecutive months of stability” in their sex with no “clinically significant distress or impairment,” if they can prove they have “never attempted to transition

The White House press corps has nerve complaining about access to the president after it raised barely a peep in protest at Joe Biden being practically AWOL his entire presidency. Biden didn’t even hold a press conference until two months in. The handful of press conferences he did conduct were a bad joke, in which he would take three or four questions from preselected reporters, whose names and photographs were printed on a card.
