I came across an article today with a graphic showing a map of Washington, D.C. with tags indicating asking prices for homes that had just gone on the market. The article claimed that the D.C. housing market has dropped 36% in one week. I've been utilizing the "Bongino Rule," waiting 24-72 hours before commenting on an inflammatory story until more facts are revealed.
But I quickly came across similar, related stories, as well as a phenomenal thread on ‘X’ from Ted Cruz. Why is it, do you suppose, that so many people (some 15,000 at last report) in D.C. have put their homes up for sale that the glut has

The rats are abandoning ship. I won't get excited until the big names start "resigning" to spend more time with their family.

While I appreciate and agree with the article, I think there is another aspect to this behavior, paranoia. The Left is notoriously mentally unbalanced. They think WE are monsters and are out to get them by any means possible, you know, like they actually have been doing to us. To think that we will be looking for criminal behavior, of which there will be much to be found, they project their own values onto us; by any means possible. However, we have no need to prosecute people for being stupid and inept. Firing them will be sufficient.
On the other hand, I am completely unsympathetic to their self inflicted suffering. They have earned it. I hope that they can recover their sanity so we don't have to keep dragging them into the future, kicking and screaming all the way.

Being "underwater" on a mortgage only really matters if you need to sell. That is the case if you are a federal "worker" who got canned. Actual work will soon be hard to find in DC. Life is full of choices, and so many who jumped on the federal gravy train have to live with theirs. What is it Brandon said? "Learn to code." In this case the advice is: Get a real job.

To all those unelected bureaucrats who think Bleach bit is a way out, you still have to justify your tax returns. The IRS keeps all records. They keep everything!

And we're only 4 weeks into the house cleaning. Most telling is the lack of fight this time around. Sure, there have been some lawsuits and challenges and cbs is putting up a brave front. Trump wisely, though, accepted the Big Tech turncoats to his side after the election and the usual suspects are virtually checkmated. It's like a football game in which the winning side "simply has too many weapons."

Sorry for the second post. In 1859, Charles Dickens published a novel call 'A Tale of Two Cities.' Lately, I've been feeling like his Madame de Farge, who sat in a rocking chair at the foot of the guillotine, knitting and cackling as the heads were lopped off. We are just starting President Trump's fifth week!

Poster #9, I've watched European (particularly British) movies where people were punished (hanged) for crimes (sometimes drummed up by evil people, though), and I couldn't understand how people could watch hangings and cheer. . .

Call me a pessimist. As much as we want to celebrate, we have to remember that, politically/culturally these people aren't going anywhere. Some of the worst might end up in jail,, but most will join or start up NGOs or become lobbyists and fill up omnibus bills with spending on their progressive projects. Watch for them in your local and state elections. And from what I've heard, no matter what Trump does, the economy is not going to recover quickly, which means we might have an uphill battle in the midterms. So now is not the time to sit back and breathe a sigh of relief. It looks bad for the dems right now, however they're plotting and scheming. They may be down, but not out.

Out of work government employees, because of their work ethic, will have a hard time finding jobs in the civilian world.
