TUCSON, Ariz — The margin in the House of Representatives currently sits at 218-215. That's a slim majority for the Republican party. But Elise Stefanik's (R-NY) nomination for ambassador to the United Nations could lower that majority even more. On the Democrat side, Raul Grijalva (AZ-07) has not voted since Jan. 3. Grijalva announced he was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024, missing all 351 votes from April through September while getting treatment. He won re-election over Republican challenger Daniel Butierez in November, and announced his return to Capitol Hill later that month. But he has since only voted a handful

Its mandate is to identify waste, abuse, fraud, and irrelevance in the federal budget at a time when the U.S. is $37 trillion in debt. The agency will expire on July 4, 2026. MUNICH - U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Washington would be able to wield economic and military leverage in talks with Russia to ensure a good peace deal over Ukraine, but his spokesman later denied he was making any threats against Moscow. Vance also urged Europe to spend more on defence in remarks before arriving for the Munich Security Conference, a major annual gathering of political leaders, military officers and diplomats. In his keynote address to the conference, Vance lambasted the European Union for its regulation of hate speech and misinformation, which he said amounted to censorship. He only briefly referred to Ukraine, saying he hoped a "reasonable settlement"

No, I am not in love with Trump. He still makes me cringe sometimes, and I still don't understand the Canada/51st state thing at all, and want nothing to do with Gaza if he is serious about that. But there are two vital things about him which I got completely, totally, and without question wrong. Walter Kirn slapped me in the face (not literally) with a single tweet. Boom. At least it was a "boom" for me, because I was one of those people who was absolutely certain that Trump was too immature, too narcissistic, and too lacking in self-awareness to put his ego in check and hire

In announcing the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza, Trump gave the world a brilliant masterclass in realpolitik. Let’s break it down: If there is one thing we should be able to agree on, at least the few of us who have opened a history book, it is that ethnic hatred courses just under the skin of civilized men ready to erupt from the slightest of provocations. This has been the case throughout history. The Ancient Greek city-states, from Athens to Sparta, from Thebes to Corinth, despite having so much in common, would periodically descend into brutal wars over seemingly nothing. This paradigm has continued unabated for millennia.
