The IRS improperly silenced and retaliated against two agents who came forward to testify in 2023 about misconduct in the Hunter Biden tax case, a federal watchdog concluded after a lengthy investigation. IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler faced illegal gag orders and workplace retaliation for testifying before Congress multiple times, leveling serious allegations of misconduct against the officials tasked with handling the Hunter Biden case, the Office of Special Counsel concluded in December.

National Review goes out of it's way over and over in this article to identify the people at OSC as "career nonpartisan staff". There is no such thing as a nonpartisan in Washington DC, especiallly working in the Federal Government. If they were so "nonpartisan", why did it take until 12/30/2024 to conclude an investigation into something that happened in 2023? I suppose the pending inauguration of Donald J Trump had nothing to do with it. On another note, NR really went left in my opinion during the GW Bush Administration. Wonder when we are going to find out about their USAID grants...

Seems like the National Review is being forced to print some things it would rather not. Like true stories and events. That publication is dead to me.

Retaliation is nothing new. Not in government or the private sector. Since they can't directly go after someone for squealing, they might start enforcing rules they never enforced before but only on the squealer. They might put the whistleblower on unpleasant duty or other actions to make them quit. They might give them a fair annual appraisal when everyone else's is inflated. Laws dont mean a darned thing when they are so routinely circumvented.

A handful of House Democrats were barred from entering the Department of Education’s DC headquarters Friday, after President Trump talked up plans to bypass Congress and unilaterally close the agency down, returning its power to the states. Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) and 95 of his fellow partisans had demanded an “urgent meeting” Thursday with acting secretary Denise Carter before taking matters into their own hands Friday — only to be halted by security who “locked” the building doors, a congressional aide told The Post. Video footage shows an officer informing the lawmakers that their meeting request had not been “accepted”

Did you know that Elon Musk is the real president of the United States? Did you know that he is going to defund all public schools in America? Did you know that Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are going to stop issuing checks? How about his dastardly plan to crash every airplane in America? The Democrats are panicked and just throwing * against the wall hoping something will stick. My timeline is filled with hoaxes about Elon Musk and DOGE and has been ever since the USAID scandals popped up. Not that Elon hasn't been the subject of much hate ever since he bought Twitter, but what is happening now is next-level

The NCAA has officially changed its gender eligibility policies to ban all biological males from women's sports one day after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to address the issue. The governing body of college sports announced on Thursday afternoon its new participation policy for transgender student-athletes. "A student-athlete assigned male at birth may not compete on a women’s team," the new policy reads. The new policy still allows biological females to compete on men's teams. The previous policy, which had been in place in 2010, allowed biological males to compete in the women's category after undergoing at least one year of testosterone suppression treatment.

A U.S. judge on Thursday temporarily blocked the Trump administration's proposed buyout for federal workers until at least Monday, giving an initial win to labor unions who have sued to stop it. The ruling by U.S. District Judge George O'Toole in Boston pushes back a midnight deadline set by the Trump administration, which is pressuring federal workers to leave their jobs in an unprecedented drive to overhaul the federal government. O'Toole could opt to delay the buyout further or block it on a more permanent basis when he next considers the legal challenge by the unions at a hearing on Monday.

The U.S. has won a major concession in the Panama Canal, the State Department announced on Wednesday night. The move, State said, will save the U.S. government millions of dollars a year. Saving millions a year may seem like a drop in the bucket compared to other government expenses - like buying subscriptions to Politico PRO - but it is a major symbolic win as the Panama Canal was a central part

A group of Morgan Stanley-led banks is selling $5.5 billion of debt tied to Elon Musk’s social-media platform X after receiving stronger-than-expected demand from investors, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The banks initially planned to sell about $3 billion worth of the loan but received enough interest to parcel out additional debt. They are now selling the entire remaining slug of the highest-ranking borrowings used to fund Musk’s buyout of the platform formerly known as Twitter Inc., marking a significant milestone in their effort to free their balance sheet from the X exposure. The loan is being priced at 97 cents on the dollar

As we reported earlier, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) made it clear the left was going to be ramping up their protests in the streets against President Donald Trump. Their claims are truly unhinged — because special government employees, Elon Musk and his DOGE team, are operating as part of the Executive Office of the President to review government expenditures. Yet Democrats have been leveling all kinds of crazy accusations against Trump and Musk, especially since Musk has been looking into the hornet's nest that is USAID. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) even accused Musk of "raiding the government, attempting to steal taxpayer money" from the Treasury Department.

Former USAID Administrator Samantha Power, the architect of the “Responsibility to Protect” doctrine (R2P) traveled to CBS HQ in New York for a late-night television appearance with Stephen Colbert. The purpose of Power’s appearance was to defend the institutional interests of her former agency, as USAID comes under scrutiny for ridiculous spending and manipulation of foreign and domestic politics. Mrs. Power does her very best Sally Stuthers impersonation as she claims the only purpose of USAID is to facilitate charity and life-saving public health in “underserved nations” around the world.

Mr. Crane, during a hearing on 'Rightsizing Government,' noticed that his Democrat colleagues had become a little verklempt over the idea that Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team have been making efforts to slash government waste and fraud. In fact, earlier in the hearing, the resistance party tried to catch GOP lawmakers off guard by calling for a vote to subpoena Musk.
