The Senate confirmed former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum as Interior secretary Thursday in a 79-18 vote, with the majority of Senate Democrats joining every Republican in the chamber. Burgum, a one-time candidate for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination-turned-visible Trump campaign surrogate, has been among the president’s least controversial nominees. He advanced out of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee last week in a nearly unanimous vote, with only Sens. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) voting against the nomination. Meta Platforms (META) is in discussions about moving its incorporation from Delaware to Texas or other states, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The social media giant has talked to Texas officials about the potential changes, WSJ said, adding that the discussions predate President Donald Trump's new administration.
The paperwork change would not relocate its corporate headquarters.
Meta did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment but a company spokeperson told WSJ that there are no plans to move its corporate headquarters from California.

A plane reportedly crashed on a street near the Roosevelt Mall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Friday night, igniting nearby cars and homes in flames.
The crash happened at about 6 p.m. after a plane took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport.
The City of Philadephia posted on X, calling the incident "major."
