Meta said Wednesday it would pay $25 million to settle a four-year-old lawsuit from President Donald Trump over the social media company’s decision to suspend Trump’s accounts after the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, filed a notice of the settlement in federal court in San Francisco, where the lawsuit was pending. Meta spokesperson Andy Stone separately confirmed the terms: a $25 million payment from the company, with $22 million going toward a fund for Trump’s presidential library and the balance dedicated to legal fees and other plaintiffs in the case.

President Trump signed an executive order to prohibit federal funds from going to K-12 public schools that teach critical race theory (CRT) or gender issues.
The order, which could quickly face legal challenges, “prohibits federal funding of the indoctrination of children which includes radical gender ideology and critical race theory in the classroom.”
The Education secretary and Defense secretary — for schools run by the defense department — are ordered to create a strategy for ending “indoctrination in K-12 education” within 90 days.
The order also reinstates the 1776 Commission Trump created in his first term, telling all executive agencies to “prioritize the advancement of patriotic education.”

NEW YORK — Top Department of Justice officials under President Donald Trump have been talking with Manhattan prosecutors about dropping criminal charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, according to a person with knowledge of the discussions.
The conversations between DOJ and both the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the mayor’s legal team were first reported by The New York Times.
Adams is facing a five-count bribery case that he has characterized as political retribution from the Biden administration for his criticisms of the former president’s handling of immigration. He pleaded not guilty in September.

The Trump administration rescinded a memo freezing most federal grants and loans on Wednesday, one day after the measure was temporarily paused by a federal district judge, though the White House clarified shortly thereafter that the underlying executive order remains in effect.
U.S. District judge Loren L. AliKhan issued an administrative stay on the measure on Tuesday night, moments before it was supposed to go into effect. The order had blocked the freeze from going into effect until at least Monday after a network of nonprofit groups filed a legal challenge against the measure.
Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Matthew Vaeth previously ordered agencies to “temporarily

WASHINGTON - Americans have a dim view of some of President Donald Trump's early barrage of executive orders, including his attempt to do away with so-called birthright citizenship and his decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found.
Since taking office on Jan. 20, the Republican president has moved quickly to crack down on immigration and scale back the size of government, efforts that respondents to the three-day poll that closed on Sunday look on more favorably.
Overall, the poll showed 45% of Americans approve of Trump's performance as president, down slightly

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump's administration on Wednesday rescinded a widespread freeze most federal grants and loans just one day after it was issued amidst significant criticism, according to a memo a source provided to NBC News.
A senior administration official confirmed the order was rescinded Wednesday. The order, which sparked chaos and confusion across Washington, was temporarily halted by a federal district judge Tuesday evening.
The directive from the Office of Management and Budget came Monday night, directing federal agencies to "temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency activities

Despite Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt's more than precise outlining of what was and was not affected by President Donald Trump's executive order freezing funding for federal grants, loans, and other financial programs pending agency review, along with a memorandum from the Office of Budget and Management (OMB) outlining the same, Democrats took this opportunity to rail against dictator Trump, fearmonger, and have an absolute meltdown. The detailed memorandum was even distributed to the White House press corps. Full memo here - outlining what is and isn’t impacted by OMB pause on federal funds for a period of review
Document shows pause is not across the board, but limited

Internet pioneer Marc Andreessen said it best: “Last week has totally reset my conception of what’s possible, in two wholly different dimensions.”
As Andreessen often is, he’s right.
Soon after November’s election, I suggested that if Donald Trump were smart, he’d come in like a wrecking ball: Move fast, break things and precipitate change across many fronts all at once, subjecting the Democrats, the media and the left (but I repeat myself) to shock and awe. Boy, has he ever done that, unleashing unprecedented change in just his first 100 hours. He banned DEI throughout the federal government, closed the borders to illegal immigrants

In the Golden Age of Hollywood, studios kept a tight leash on their stars. No matter how bizarre, debauched, or anti-American the star was, the studio publicity departments ensured that the people who paid for movie tickets saw the stars as wholesome, intelligent, and patriotic.
After the debacle of Rachel Zegler’s solo press appearances for the new Snow White movie, one might think that Disney had learned that its actors aren’t safe when left to play on their own. But, noooo. This time, Anthony Mackie, the star of Disney’s newest Captain America movie, let the world know that he has nothing but disdain for America.

This past September, thanks to the Biden administration's war on natural gas, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and activist judges in the D.C. Court of Appeals, there was a dire warning issued for the East Coast of the US.
A planned natural gas pipeline extension - the Regional Energy Access (REA) expansion of the Transco pipeline bringing Marcellus natgas to the East Coast - had been ordered shutdown by the D.C. Court of Appeals.
Natural gas consumers in the Northeast face “devastating consequences” this winter unless temporary permission is granted to Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. LLC to continue operating

I thought this day would never come. Trump has paused all federal grant programs pending a review of their consistency with the policies set out in his Executive Orders. It's a long overdue measure that is, unfortunately, absolutely necessary because the federal government not only wastes billions or even trillions of dollars funding shady NGOs and consultants, but these NGOs often use this money in ways that harm America. The border crisis was largely funded through federal grants to NGOs that trafficked illegal aliens to the US border, and NGOs within the United States used federal funds to disperse those aliens around the country and provide services to them.

Joe Biden's use of U.S. taxpayer money to fund transgender operas in Colombia and transgender comic books in Peru will be totally undone by Trump, a top Republican told DailyMail.com.
House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast (R-Fla.) has a laundry list of Biden-era State Department programs that are on the chopping block now that Trump is in the White House.
After a bombshell report came out this week unveiling how Biden's State Department doled out $15 million worth of taxpayer funds to buy contraceptives like condoms for the Taliban, DailyMail.com asked Mast what other eye-popping programs exist.
'So, $47,000 for a transgender opera
