But Trump’s plan—like that of William H. Seward, who, as secretary of state, oversaw the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867—is not without tremendous geopolitical advantage to America.
It’s all about gaining greater American control over the Arctic, where Russia and China are cooperating to build a strong presence. Fears that such cooperation will extend to include North Korea and Iran are not unfounded.

The reports sound pretty wild out there but some, on places such as X, say President Trump is flying to Greenland tomorrow.
I still haven't seen any confirmation after several hours of watching, so it might be eager beavers jumping the gun. However, it does seem pretty clear that Don Trump, Jr., Trump's oldest son, is making the trip -- and will hop off his plane tomorrow.

I’m not sure that mass murderers Nidal Hasan and Shamsud-Din Jabbar are not more deserving of Presidential Medals of Freedom than George Soros. With the award to Soros, Biden has gone unspeakably low. E.E. Cummings (e.e. cummings) asked in one of his poems: “how numb can an unworld get?” He answered: “number.” By the same token, we might ask, “How low can an unpresident go?” Answer: I’m afraid we will find out before January 20 if we haven’t already.

According to the federal government, the main terror threat to the U.S. now is lone actors inspired by extremism ideology. Those ideologies range widely. Earlier today when I wrote about the wildfires I mentioned that there were reports the hydrants were simply running dry, leaving firefighters no way to battle the flames. Here's Rick Caruso, former candidate for LA mayor, describing the problem. FIle this next clip under "too good to check" but apparently this morning one local LA anchor tried to discount what Caruso was saying only to have a reporter contradict him a minute later. That knee-jerk urge to contradict whatever criticism Democrats are getting is one surefire way the media consistently sets its own credibility on fire.

What was intended to be a somber occasion, however, quickly became charged with tension so thick attendees could feel it in the air.Among the ceremonial obligations to honor the former president, the spectacle of political posturing and strained handshakes was enough to quite the sideshow. Shockingly, the disaster that is the California wildfires has turned political. I know, you didn't see it coming, did you? Stunning. How could something so tragic turn so political so quickly?

Republicans in Congress are already getting to work on trying to implement Donald Trump’s agenda.
Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) this week put forward a joint resolution seeking to limit the number of terms members of Congress can serve.
Under the terms of the amendment, U.S. senators would be restricted to two six-year terms and representatives in the U.S. House to three two-year terms.
According to the resolution, the amendment would take effect within seven years of being approved by Congress and ratified by the states.
We reported earlier on some of the priceless interactions between the various presidents, vice presidents, and their spouses at the state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter. We saw President Trump shake hands with his former VP Mike Pence, despite what can only be considered strained feelings between the two these days. There was the chilly interaction between Jill Biden and Kamala Harris, and the ridiculous reason that Michelle Obama wasn't there. There was Joe Biden, looking out of it, as usual. (Snip) But as the funeral went on there was another priceless moment that I had to share -- Kamala Harris' reaction to Barack Obama talking with Trump.
