If only Dandy Don Meredith were alive to sing the chorus... I'm sure within the ego of California Governor Gavin Newsom, as vast as the acreage of the L.A. basin that's burned, he thinks he's handling this crisis just fine, and that no one will remember this unpleasantness witnessed over the last week. I'm sure he believes his presidential ambitions, unlike so many historic homes, restaurants, museums, and other buildings, still stand. It's over. Yesterday, there was one exchange Newsom had with a mom overcome with grief. She had lost her home. Her daughter lost her school. She lost everything and was apoplectic, as most Angelinos are, at the horrific response

Slick backed Newsom has no clue and he admitted it about the LA fires. Newsom has been infected with DEI, Do Expect Incompetency. There is no cure for Do Expect Incompetency other than the ballot box. He has demonstrated what he wants to do to America, fubar it beyond what JaBiden has done. But the citizens of Californistan must like DEI as they keep voting for it. The citizenry of LA may all be homeless after the fires have been put out, if that is possible.

Gavin Newsom, Canada’s Justin Trudeau and other Western leaders are peas in a pod: showy, shallow, glib, conceited and stupid. They care not a whit about human loss or misery but only about themselves. This is the kind of leadership that comes when voters stop taking life seriously and buy into a fantasy. Open borders, communism, socialism, DEI and wokeness in general are nonsense. Walk among the ruins, Angelenos, and know you did this to yourselves.

Only a woman could have done this. A man would have immediately been wrestled to the ground by security and taken away even if he had the same anger and circumstances happen to him which many have had over the last few days.

Right now the Hollywood big-name movie stars and high rollers are in total shock that this disaster is upon them. They probably believed such as this only happened to "little people." We'll see if their eyes are opened that their own liberal policies are responsible. Somehow, I fear the lesson will be soon forgotten. A leap to Conservatism, Trump style, is a leap too far to take. It would mean everything they believe is a lie!

Gov. Brylcreem had to endure a mother's rage as he said he was trying to call the president. Yes, by all means call the president, who's presently taking a nap. The governor was having trouble getting through. That's reminiscent of the Coca-Cola scene in Dr. Strangelove with Group Captain Lionel Mandrake (Peter Sellers, in one of three roles he played) and Colonel "Bat" Guano (Keenan Wynn), who thinks Mandrake is some sort of "deviated prevert" (sic). Mandrake, at a payphone, ran out of money making the call to the president and needed more cash to keep waiting for the president to pick up. Mandrake: Colonel... that Coca-Cola machine. I want you to shoot the lock off it. There may be some change in there. "Bat" Guano: That's private property. Mandrake: Colonel! Can you possibly imagine what is going to happen to you, your frame, outlook, way of life, and everything, when they learn that you have obstructed a telephone call to the President of the United States? Can you imagine? Shoot it off! Shoot! With a gun! That's what the bullets are for, you twit! "Bat" Guano: Okay. I'm gonna get your money for ya. But if you don't get the President of the United States on that phone, you know what's gonna happen to you? Mandrake: What? "Bat" Guano: You're gonna have to answer to the Coca-Cola company.

Adam Corolla says that when the folks with eight figure homes try to rebuild and find all the ecoterrorists who will control whether they can build the house back like it was, or have to build to some new eco-design, and pay double for everything, with years delays for environmental impact statements.....there will be red pills popping everywhere. and no more money flowing to insane Dems. A Canadian “Super Scooper” aircraft fighting the Palisades fire in Los Angeles had to be grounded Thursday after it hit a civilian drone in the smoke-filled skies above the blaze, local fire department officials said. CNN reports the specifically designed CL-415 firefighting planes are used to scoop up more than 1,500 gallons of ocean water to drop on active fires. Two have been leased by L.A. County to help current operations. The plane in question, Quebec 1, “sustained wing damage and remains grounded and out of service,” Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Erik Scott said, adding there were no reported injuries.

One suspects he's quite used to them, but even for President-elect Donald Trump, Thursday has been a busy day. While he spent the morning, along with his wife Melania, at the funeral services for former President Jimmy Carter and later in the day announcing additional appointments to his incoming administration, a bevy of legal decisions was being made regarding him. First, the New York Court of Appeals denied his request to stay the sentencing in his Manhattan criminal case (set for Friday morning). Then, the Supreme Court did the same, just as the 11th Circuit denied his co-defendants' efforts to block the release of (former) Special Counsel Jack Smith's "Final Report."

According to the poll tracking at FiveThirtyEight, Trump may have become more popular than unpopular for the first time in his political life. Los Angeles' budget is in the spotlight as multiple wildfires rage around the city amid revelations that Mayor Karen Bass slashed the fire department's budget last year while prioritizing spending on the city's homeless population. For the 2023-2024 fiscal year, Los Angeles budgeted $837 million for the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), which was roughly 65% the size of the homeless budget of $1.3 billion.
