WASHINGTON — Retiring President Biden became a great-grandfather Wednesday when his granddaughter Naomi gave birth in Los Angeles — with Biden announcing the “good news” as three large wildfires raged nearby. “The good news is, I’m a great-grandfather as of today,” Biden, 82, said during a briefing on the blazes in the Pacific Palisades, which have killed at least two people and left dozens more homeless. “I’ll remember this day for a lot of reasons,” the president told reporters at a Santa Monica fire station before declining to answer questions from the press about the natural disaster, which has destroyed

New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined a growing number of Democrats who are seeking to work as much as possible with President-elect Donald Trump in his second term.
Ocasio-Cortez, who belongs to the progressive faction of her party in Congress, said in remarks to Punchbowl News on Wednesday that she will support policies from Trump that align with her beliefs.
“The reason why I think oftentimes Democrats occasionally lose elections is because we’re too reflexively anti-Republican, and that we don’t lean into an ambitious vision for working-class Americans strongly enough,” she told the outlet.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum clapped back Wednesday at President-elect Donald Trump’s threat to rename the Gulf of Mexico — saying the US should actually be called “Mexican America.”
Trump, 78, announced Tuesday during a Mar-a-Lago press conference he had ambitions to rebrand the Gulf of Mexico to “Gulf of America.”
In response, Sheinbaum, 62, showed off a 1607 map with the Gulf of Mexico being identified as such and North America labeled as Mexican America. (Photo) “Why don’t we call it Mexican America? It sounds nice, no?” asked the Mexican leader, apparently in jest.

As wildfires ravage Southern California, homeowners in Pacific Palisades find themselves grappling with an unbearable reality: their homes are burning, and their insurance policies—once their safety net—were canceled just months ago by State Farm.
In a move justified by the company as a strategy to avoid “financial failure,” State Farm canceled over 72,000 homeowners’ policies statewide, with Pacific Palisades—a now-charred affluent neighborhood—bearing a significant brunt.
James Woods, a renowned actor and Pacific Palisades resident, summed up the community’s frustration on social media.
“Actually, one of the major insurance companies canceled all the policies in our neighborhood about four months ago,” he wrote.

Fire crews were forced to watch as entire blocks of the Pacific Palisades — one of the most scenic and celeb-packed neighborhoods in LA — were incinerated in a matter of hours late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
“There’s no water in the fire hydrants,” Rick Caruso, who owns the Palisades Village mall in the heart of the devastated area, fumed to local media. “The firefighters are there, and there’s nothing they can do — we’ve got neighborhoods burning, homes burning, and businesses burning. … It should never happen.”

A trio of raging wildfires reduced entire Los Angeles neighborhoods to ash and gutted historic Tinsel Town landmarks — with one blaze becoming the City of Angels’ most destructive of all time less than 36 hours after it began.
The indefatigable Pacific Palisades inferno carved a path of devastation in western LA County Wednesday, a densely populated area containing some of the most coveted real estate in the country, including multimillion-dollar celebrity homes.
The blaze claimed more than 1,000 structures and devoured nearly 16,000 acres by early Wednesday evening as it burned completely out of control, edging perilously close to quintessential LA touchstones like Sunset Boulevard,

One of the leading issues that Americans voted Donald Trump back into office for was to close the southern border and deport millions of illegal immigrants that the Biden administration has allowed into the country. Trump and his Border Czar, Tom Homan, have plans to do just that. Already, blue cities and states have vowed to fight the incoming Trump administration's efforts. But while they fancy themselves as the "resistance," shelters in those cities and states are filling up not only with illegal immigrants but also rampant crime.
(X) Among those shelters are the ones funded by the state government and reserved for families in the blue state of Massachusetts.

For some 15 hours as wildfires spiraled out of control in Los Angeles, the public water system faced four times its usual demand, causing some hydrants to run dry and hindering the fight against the flames, local water officials said Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was pushing water from aqueducts and groundwater into the system, but demand was so high, it wasn’t enough to refill three one-million gallon tanks in hilly Pacific Palisades that help pressurize hydrants for the neighborhood. They went dry on several occasions and at least 1,000 buildings were engulfed in flames.

In March 2022, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) joined a national effort to collect and donate surplus equipment and gear to support first responders in Ukraine.
This initiative involved gathering items such as hoses, nozzles, turnouts, helmets, body armor, and other personal protective equipment to address shortages

Throughout human history mankind has either produced or imagined heroic men (and sometimes women) who fought not for themselves, but for their people. St. George killed the dragon, Joan of Arc held back the English, Davy Crockett opened the frontier. Sometimes these heroes were real, sometimes fictitious. Sometimes they were local, sometimes they took on epic proportions. America now needs such a hero -- we demonstrated that in this last election.
America has learned a difficult lesson -- we’ve lived through four years of leaderless abandonment. Like a lost dog, America has stumbled into fights, gone hungry from time to time, and felt ashamed of our national existence.

It wasn’t the most annoying segment CNN has ever done on the January 6 riot. Still, it circles back to the notion that this network, the Democratic Party, and liberal America writ large cannot get over the fact that a) Trump is back, and b) no one cared about this little riot. The network’s polling found that just five percent of voters had January 6 as their lasting memory of Trump’s first presidency. That same five percent are also addicted to huffing aerosols, or they’re mentally challenged.

Elon Musk took yet another jab at Justin Trudeau after the disgraced Canadian Prime Minister tried to take a final stand against President-elect Donald Trump's rhetoric suggesting the United States could absorb the Great White North. Last month, Trump kicked off the entire controversy when he slammed Trudeau for bristling at his potential tariff threat to persuade northern leaders to tighten border security.
Trump joked, "If Canada can't survive without ripping off the US to the tune of $100 billion a year, then maybe Canada should become the 51st state, and Trudeau could become its governor."
Since that point, the 47th President has consistently chided Trudeau on social media.

It’s the year of our Lord 2025, which means we can leave the Constitution-threatening chaos of 2024 behind, right? Wrong!
Unless something is done to curb the democracy-destroying behavior of the Democrats and the deep state, the future of the country is still very much hanging in the balance. Thankfully, a new calendar and a new administration mark another opportunity for Americans to take back what is rightfully theirs. It won’t be easy. And unlike your New Year’s resolutions, these “ins and outs” should not be forgotten in a couple of weeks. But if they are executed correctly, it will be worth it.

Always remember that there were those who would do literally anything in order to keep Donald Trump from getting reelected. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Monday sent a 33-page rant to Defense Secretary Nominee Pete Hegseth defending the Biden administration’s woke policies in the military and expressing concern that he would reverse them if confirmed.
In a letter sent to Hegseth on Tuesday and made public, Warren — who lied on teaching applications about her race — expressed concerns about Hegseth’s views opposing Marxist-based diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and wokeness in the military, and concern that he would actually implement President-elect Donald Trump’s policies at the Pentagon.

Los Angeles-area firefighters claim they are running out of water as they battle the growing wildfires in the area.
"The hydrants are down," one firefighter said over the radio, according to the Los Angeles Times.
"Water supply just dropped," reported another one.
Former LA mayoral hopeful and billionaire developer Rick Caruso backed the claims made by the first responders as his staff reported to him from the Palisades Village in the Westside neighborhood.
"There's no water in the fire hydrants," Caruso told the outlet. "The firefighters are there and there's nothing they can do — we've got neighborhoods burning, homes burning, and businesses burning. ... It should never happen."

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Tuesday announced the arrest of seven foreigners -- including two Americans -- whom he accused of being "mercenaries" trying to prevent him from being sworn-in for another six years in power. Maduro said the Americans, two Colombian "hitmen" and three "mercenaries" from the war in Ukraine were involved in plotting unspecified "terrorist acts" ahead of his planned inauguration Friday. "I am sure that in the next few hours they will confess," Maduro said in a broadcast on state television, before declaring a mass deployment of police and military across the country.

Thanks to Donald Trump’s revolutionary campaign strategy of near-exclusive focus on internet media, Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, and self-immolation, the dominant ninety-year run of the self-styled “mainstream media” ended with the 2024 presidential election, alongside its legacy of being the cheerleaders and propaganda arm of the American Left and an increasingly radicalized Democrat Party.
The mainstream media can trace its beginning to Franklin Roosevelt. It was given birth with the passage of the Communications Act of 1934 and the creation of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)

“A high-stakes docu-thriller” is a P.R. caption for the ironically named Jenner Furst documentary, Thank You, Dr. Fauci. No Thanks, Dr. Fauci or Goodbye, Doc would be a more straightforward title. After all, if a large number of the right people were to view the film, it would change Anthony Fauci’s public reputation from the courageous voice of science to a mendacious bureaucrat whose reckless obsession with genetically altered vaccines paved the way for a devastating pandemic. But as Furst implies, the likelihood of that reversal of fortune is slim, since the same tech, pharma, and political powers that successfully squashed the truth

President-elect Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that he would rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.”
Trump revealed his vision for rebranding the gulf during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago. (X Video) “We’re going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America,” Trump announced.
“The Gulf of America; what a beautiful name, and it’s appropriate,” Trump added. “And Mexico has to stop allowing millions of people to pour into our country.” Trump’s announcement comes as he has recently focused on nearby territories and the U.S.-constructed Panama Canal.

The Washington Post lost more than $70 million dollars last year and rather than trying a course correction, they doubled down on woke. One of their cartoonists recently resigned because Jeff Bezos nixed her anti-Trump cartoon that also criticized her own paper.
Now the paper is laying off dozens of staffers. It turns out decisions have consequences.
Like many other liberal media outlets, the Washington Post has become a captive of their most far left readers. They can’t triangulate politically because they would lose the last group of readers that they have left.

Now that DEI is on its way out (with some major holdouts like Costco and Disney), something intelligent should replace it.
With our culture's fondness for acronyms, we need a new one such as MCF. It's not enough to say just "Let's go back to the way it was" because too many people don't remember or never knew how it is supposed to be.
We need hiring and promotion based solely on Merit, Competence, and Fairness.

Frigid air that normally stays trapped in the Arctic has escaped, plunging deep into the United States for an extended visit that is expected to provoke teeth-chattering but not be record-shattering.
It’s a cold air outbreak that some experts say is happening more frequently, and paradoxically, because of a warming world.(snip) “There’s a climate change signal in that,” Francis said.
The Arctic is warming four times faster than the rest of the world, which means the difference between temperatures up north and down south are shrinking, Francis said. Arctic sea ice is shrinking,

Roughly 30,000 Los Angeles residents — including celebrities — have been ordered to evacuate their homes as a wildfire engulfs the ritzy Pacific Palisades and some have stepped up to help emergency responders clear roads blocked by abandoned vehicles Tuesday.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency after touching down in the area and meeting with first responders fighting the blaze that has torched more than 2,900 acres into Tuesday night, according to CalFire.
“By no stretch of the imagination are we out of the woods,” Newsom warned as winds up to 100 mph are expected to increase overnight across the tony enclave — including regions that are “abnormally dry,”

Of course, I’d rather have Dr. Mehmet Oz in the US Senate than Democrat John Fetterman, but this guy has been a surprise. He speaks his mind, has unwavering support for Israel, and does not care if the progressive Left hates his guts. With Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin departing the upper chamber, Fetterman might be the only voice of reason on the other side of the aisle. On Fox News’ Bret Baier’s show, the Pennsylvania Democrat had reasonable takes on the issue of Greenland and the nominees of President-elect Donald J. Trump, which will likely anger liberals. Fetterman was a guest along with colleague Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL).

CNN’s data analyst Harry Enten recently looked at how much voters cared about January 6th as a political issue and the numbers were stunningly small.
Democrats and the media, including a lot of people at CNN, thought this was their ace in the hole in November but they chose poorly because voters did not care. People were much more concerned about the border, inflation, and other serious issues.
This is why people like Sunny Hostin of The View look especially foolish when they try to hype Jan 6th as some sort of historic tragedy.
The only tragedy is the people who have been withering in jail over this for years now.
