Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is blaming the raging California wildfires on climate change. “80,000 people told to evacuate. Blazes 0% contained. Eight months since the area has seen rain. The scale of damage and loss is unimaginable,” the senator began before blaming the devastation not on poor fire management but on climate change. “Climate change is real, not ‘a hoax,'” he said, demanding President-elect Donald Trump to “treat this like the existential crisis it is.” (X) Sanders made no mention of the fact that Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) — who was not in LA but on a trip to Ghana

No rain for 8 months? Sanders apparently slept through December, in which "atmospheric river" events hit up and down the California coastline, north, central, and south -- and the way much of the coast had enough rain to cause flash flooding and mudslides.

FO, Bernie. We know the game. The government creates the disaster in order to pass draconian “climate change” legislation to address it, with kickbacks going to politicians.

Bernie Sanders is fruitloops. The Fire is there because of high winds, poor forest management and completely moronic management of water, of which California has plenty!! But the Democrats have been lining their pockets, instead of maintaining infrastructure - the same reason Hurricane Katrina was so bad. Human greed plants the seed and Chaos follows. You people are getting what you voted for.

Yawn. A terrible tragedy is going on down in SoCal, but it's not due to global warming, global cooling, climate change, or the low level of Al Gore's bank account. Rather it's due to decades of Democrat incompetence.

The earliest known wildfire in California history was the Santiago Canyon Fire of 1889. It burned around 300,000 acres in parts of Orange County, San Diego County, and Riverside County.1 Before 2018, this was the largest wildfire in the state’s history in terms of acreage burned. Those 1889 model year SUVs were a real problem.

Sanders does not know the history of California winds. The winds have been strong this time of year and is documented in history before California became a state. There are 8 ecological zones in California and each is really different from the others. Sanders is another person that should not be in the Senate as the is chronologically challenged.

We reported earlier on some of the priceless interactions between the various presidents, vice presidents, and their spouses at the state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter. We saw President Trump shake hands with his former VP Mike Pence, despite what can only be considered strained feelings between the two these days. There was the chilly interaction between Jill Biden and Kamala Harris, and the ridiculous reason that Michelle Obama wasn't there. There was Joe Biden, looking out of it, as usual. (Snip) But as the funeral went on there was another priceless moment that I had to share -- Kamala Harris' reaction to Barack Obama talking with Trump.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass finally returned from her taxpayer-funded escapade to Africa on Wednesday, and she's been feeling the heat ever since. She left for the inexplicable photo-op even as fires were already kicking up near her city, leaving a void of leadership during a crucial time. Since touching down back in America, Bass has faced numerous questions about why she was even in Ghana in the first place. Remember, this was an "official" trip paid for by taxpayers. Why does the mayor of California's largest city need to be part of a delegation to a third-world African nation?

Joe Biden is mentally cooked and almost out the door, but he had to do what presidents do during these natural disasters. The wildfires engulfing Los Angeles County is the second inferno Biden has dealt with. He led Maui burn to the ground and took his sweet time visiting the island, whose residents endured the worst wildfire seen in almost a century. The president was briefed on the raging wildfires that have so far killed at least two people, destroyed over 1,000 buildings, forced 70,000 from their homes, and charred close to 30,000 acres. None of the fires have been contained (via CBS News):

Add this story to the ‘Trump was right again’ pile. Just three months ago, when Trump appeared on the Joe Rogan Podcast, he talked to Joe about the ongoing issue of water dispersal in California and about how the state could stop wildfires by clearing dead trees from forests. He suggested that the state actually has more than enough water to deal with these and other issues such as farming, but progressive environmental policies are standing in the way. An analysis by L.A.'s city comptroller last year found that roughly half the budget for homelessness went unspent.
