The rhetoric of gun violence

For some years now we’ve been told words are violence. It’s a jarring assertion for Americans brought up on the axiom that sticks and stone may break their bones, but words can never hurt them. So, sticks, stones and words can break our bones? Our parents and relatives were lying to us? The center cannot hold. The trans “movement” goes a bit beyond that assertion with the certainty that the unexpressed thoughts of Normal Americans are a “trans genocide,” but that was a topic for another article. The Democrat/socialist/communist (D/s/c) left has always been the nearly exclusive manipulator of language. When one of their perfect, non-falsifiable policies fails

Comments:

Look over the weapons used in homicides. The numbers are interesting and educational.

Note that handguns are used in homicides about 20 times as often as ANY rifle. Since "assault weapons" are a subset of rifles, that means that they are used in perhaps 1 or 2% of homicides, since all rifles account for perhaps 4-5%. And note that "personal weapons"....meaning hands, feet, elbows, etc. account for about twice as many homicides as ALL rifles. So the real "assault weapons" are hands, feet, elbows and knees......they MUST be banned! (LOL!) Facts are stubborn things. "Assault weapons" are rarely used in homicides. And they are used far less than those "weapons" that every human being carries around every day....hands, feet, knees and elbows.

Kind of close. For those whose brains are broke by woke, words are violence AND assault and mayhem are protected speech. True is false, bad is good, and good is bad. I expected it to be figurative when it came about; but the prophecy was literal, too!

It’s not “gun violence”; it’s people violence. Or as Chris Plante says, “It’s not our guns; it’s your sons.” If it’s gun violence, why has a gun never been arrested, indicted, tried, found guilty and imprisoned? Almost anything can be used as an assault weapon including the tablet that I’m typing on at the moment.

An Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash on Christmas Day has prompted speculation the plane was shot down by Russia after it took a detour of hundreds of miles in the wrong direction and crash-landed with holes in the fuselage. Russian military bloggers have suggested the plane, which crashed near the Kazakhstan city of Aktau, could have been mistaken for a Ukrainian drone. The incident, which killed at least 38 people and injured a further 29, took place after a significant detour, which could have been caused by GPS jamming.

Newscaster Lesley Stahl claims she “doesn’t know what to do” about the embarrassing demise of the legacy media. She was lamenting to her colleague, Peggy Noonan, that “we are at the point where even the president,” then corrected herself saying, “Elon Musk,” asserted that legacy media is dead. She appeared extremely worried, spilling her deepest concerns, in front of an empathetic audience gathered at the 92nd St. YMCA studio in New York. It was as if Stahl was having an out-of-body experience, where she failed to factor in herself, in accounting for the reason why audiences were abandoning network news in droves.

Do people on the radical left demonstrate a mental disorder? Most people on the right roll their eyes at the hysteria and fears of the left, but what’s to be done? Given that there were major shifts on the left in the 2024 election, is it possible that somehow sanity is breaking through? With the ongoing polarization that has burdened this country, it’s worthwhile to examine the psychological framework of leftists; both how they see themselves and how they see others. The results may also indicate whether the changes in voting behavior might continue, or whether they were situational. A phrase that’s been coined is “Left-Wing Authoritarianism” (LWA)

The prisoner CNN helped free from a secret facility in Syria was actually a notorious member of Bashar al-Assad’s forces known to torture those who refused to pay him off, according to a shocking local fact check. The network went viral last week with footage of the startled prisoner being led from the prison by journalist Clarissa Ward, who called it “one of the most extraordinary moments I have witnessed” in her 20 years of reporting. [snip]published a detailed report Sunday saying that the seemingly innocent prisoner was actually Salama Mohammad Salama — a first lieutenant in Syrian air force intelligence with a long history of alleged war crimes.

It was a moment I’ll never forget: Friday afternoon, November 15, 2019. After spending Veterans’ Day week in snowy, freezing Leavenworth, Kansas, I returned to Charlotte for a court appearance that morning in neighboring York County. I was talking to a friend on my cell phone, driving eastbound on Pineville-Matthews Road, when my phone beeped with an incoming call. The screen flashed: The White House. I pulled off the road into a Panera Bread parking lot and answered the call. It was the president’s military attaché. “Mr. Brown, I’m here with the president. The president wants to know if he has permission to call your client.”

Israel Hayom reported Sunday: A senior Hamas official currently based in Turkey told Saudi media that the 37th anniversary of the terrorist organization’s founding comes during a period of decline due to defeats in Gaza and the broader region. The official disclosed, “Hamas is suffering from a genuine leadership crisis. The Al-Aqsa Flood attack backfired on us, submerging us in a sea of blood and crises.

New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim went out on drone patrol with local police on Thursday night and believes some lights in the sky he came across were possibly drones, but most others — after “deeper analysis” — appear to have just been planes. Despite his findings, the Democrat, who was sworn in earlier this month, didn’t discount the possibility of drone activity in his state and called out the federal government for not offering answers to the civilians who’ve been reporting sightings for the past several weeks.

The cluelessness of the liberal media and the Democrats has been something to see since the election. They're still trying to figure it out and wrap their minds around how President-elect Donald Trump won. One of the few people who gets it is CNN's Van Jones. As we reported, he explained how Trump got the rise of new media and made use of that, that the legacy mainstream media was the "fringe" and the "fringe" was now the mainstream.

Even before Donald Trump ascends to the presidency on January 20, his appointees should ask themselves the questions that follow — all of them simple and straightforward. With Christopher Wray stepping down from the FBI directorship, they will have a much better chance of getting straight answers quickly. Trump’s team should then share those answers widely. This information will make President Trump’s pardon of more than 1,500 Americans much more comprehensible to the American public and much less controversial. –Although now the FBI admits to having 26 confidential human sources in the crowd on January 6, how many total “assets” did the FBI
