Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has been rather hysterical lately about Elon Musk, who has been tasked to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with Vivek Ramaswamy. On Monday, Warren sent a strongly worded letter to President-elect Donald Trump to request conflict of interest rules about Musk.
As The Washington Post noted about her letter and Trump addressing concerns about Trump:
"The letter sent by email from the Democrat’s Senate office to Trump’s transition team notes that regular members of the Trump Vance 2025 Transition Team operate under an ethics policy that requires them to “avoid both actual and apparent conflicts of interest.”

Donald Trump’s total humiliation of ABC News over its most recent slander, delivered through the flapping gums of malignant dwarf George Stephanopoulos, was one of those delicious examples of how the New Rules keep coming around to bite the left on its collective fourth point of contact. Even a decade ago, this would not have happened. Defamation cases, particularly against public figures, were almost impossible to win and were less about money than about enraged plaintiffs tormenting those who talked bad about them. But that’s all changed. There’s big money at stake now. The left decided it was going to use legal civil lawfare, as well as criminal lawfare,

The Georgia Court of Appeals has officially disqualified Fulton County DA Fani Willis from prosecuting President-elect Donald Trump and his remaining co-defendants in the crumbling 2020 election interference case.
According to the 31-page decision handed down Thursday, the state's appeals court ruled that there was, in fact, a conflict of interest that arose when Willis hired special prosecutor Nathan Wade and proceeded to have an undisclosed affair with him during the prosecutorial process. (X) Applying the "appearance" standard, the three-judge panel, comprised of all GOP appointees, concluded that the "significant" "appearance of impropriety" was indeed "improper."

At this point we've probably heard from all quarters on the question of the mysterious drones.
Regular citizens and lawmakers have been ticked off that they don't feel like they've gotten real answers. We've even had a New Jersey sheriff try to chase one down, the Coast Guard allegedly reporting on of their boats being followed by drones, reporters getting them on video. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul (R-TX) ) expressed concerns that those that were flying over military bases were adversarial and expressed his opinion that he thought they were from China.
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) got down to brass tacks, saying whatever they are,

We're accustomed to seeing illegal immigration issues in the border states, but these days, after almost four years of the border not even registering on the Biden administration's Give-A-Hoot-O-Meter, every state is a border state. New York is certainly not an exception. Case in point: A suspected terrorist, initially detained in Texas but then set free, has been caught in Brooklyn. But the question is — why was he released into the country in the first place? (Snip) I have some questions.
First: This suspected terrorist was "detained" — it's unclear as to why this word is used,

It's no secret that Washington, D.C., is a place that occupies its own bubble. It's a separate world of up is down and down is up, and trying to convince people that what they see and hear is not really what they are seeing and hearing. It takes a certain kind of person to survive in a place like that — feel free to insert your own definition of what that might be. No one will say that politics is an honest business. But in the past four years, we have seen the Biden administration take that concept to a whole other level. (X) Recently, Fox News Digital

The key issue in particular that is perhaps the most grating of all on Republican members of Congress is the one that has taken center stage in recent years involving so-called "transgender rights" including the inclusion of transgender "women" in women's sports, bathrooms, dressing rooms, etc.
It's an issue that has seen prominent female athletes strongly take public stands in favor of leaving women's sports as they were originally intended. One of those athletes, LGBTQ icon Martina Navratilova, has loudly spoken out on the matter only to see the same far-left groups who had previously praised her for being a groundbreaker in sports turn around and try to cancel her

There have been numerous predictions of a looming Second American Civil War. It should be noted, however, that regardless of the ideological chasm dividing America, modernity (economics, goods, services, and infrastructure) binds the factions tightly together. In 2023, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the United States was worth 27,360, 94 million U.S. dollars, according to data from the World Bank.
The factions are accustomed to nearly on-demand access to goods and services. Both factions utilize a thoroughly integrated, embedded delivery infrastructure for both. Just how integrated? Freight, facts and figures from the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics puts it in context.

When I wrote on Judge Juan Merchan's ruling regarding the presidential immunity issue in relation to the Manhattan criminal trial against President-elect Donald Trump over falsified business records, I began with: "We knew the ruling would be coming at some point."
In similar fashion, I can add: We knew the response from Trump would be swift — and likely sharp. And so it is. The president-elect took to Truth Social Tuesday morning to let his thoughts on the ruling be known, and zero punches were pulled: (Snip) Safe to say Trump will be appealing Merchan's ruling — and neither will be receiving a Christmas card from the other.

Like a lot of guys my age (63) I'm carrying a little extra, shall we say, baggage. My old Army uniforms have mysteriously shrunk to the point where I can't get into them anymore. But I do keep an eye on that, and my weight has been trending downwards, gradually; I'm active, but as I get older, I find my appetite isn't what it once was, and despite the few extra pounds I still manage to maintain a rural Alaska homestead with all the rigors that entails - not to mention spending the odd fall day hiking into the spruce woods looking for grouse and hares.
Lots of people struggle

TAMPA, Fla. — Members of the Uhuru movement avoided prison time Monday instead of getting sentenced for their role in the worldwide conspiracy to disseminate Russian propaganda and spread discord in the U.S.
Omali Yeshitela, Penny Hess and Jesse Nevel each received three years of probation and 300 hours of community service.
A federal judge also ordered the three have no contact with Russian nationals or organizations.
According to the Department of Justice, from May 2015 to July 2022, the Uhuru members acted on behalf of the Russian government within the U.S.
In 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the Uhuru house in St. Petersburg. They also raided several other properties

One of Vladimir Putin's top army generals in charge of nuclear and biological forces has been killed in an explosion after a bomb hidden in an electric scooter was detonated outside his apartment in Moscow.
Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov died in the blast moments after he emerged from his apartment block with his assistant, who was also killed.
He is believed to be the most senior military officer to be assassinated since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The bombing - claimed by a member of Ukraine's SBU security service - came a day after Kyiv had accused Kirillov of overseeing the widespread use of banned chemical weapons
