Boy howdy, isn't it nice to see some real leadership again? Granted, President-elect (I'd argue "Acting President") Trump isn't yet seated at the Resolute Desk, but he's pretty much doing the job. On Monday morning, at Mar-a-Lago (otherwise known as the Southern White House), the President-elect held a free-wheeling presser, and one of the high points of that event was the announcement of a $100 billion investment by the Japanese technology firm SoftBank - expected to create 100,000 American jobs. [Tweet, video]
In one humorous exchange, the CEO of SoftBank admitted the possibility of doubling the investment amount,

Despite the best efforts of legacy media to portray President-elect Donald Trump as "literally Hitler," the true character of the man can often be found in his more private moments at Mar-a-Lago, AKA "the southern White House."
Such was the case this past weekend when the Trumps welcomed the widow of the late Shinzo Abe, former prime minister of Japan, to Mar-a-Lago. Melania Trump tweeted out a picture from the occasion: [Tweet]
Few other details of the dinner have emerged, but what is coming to light is the fact that Donald Trump has kept in regular contact with the Mrs. Abe since the 2022 assassination of her husband.

I don't think it's a surprise that folks in Washington, D.C., tend to be liberal.
So it probably wouldn't be surprising to have people who might not be fans of the Department of Government Efficiency just because of its connection to the Trump administration.
But when Fox interviewed folks about government spending, the exchanges were hilarious when they found out just how our money was being spent. [Tweet, video]
They thought the government spent too much money, one saying, "By definition."
But then, when Fox asked about some of the crazy things that the government spent money on, they were stunned at how ridiculous the expenditures were.

Lame-duck President Joe Biden took the stage at the Democratic Party’s holiday party Sunday evening, reflecting on his time in office and touting his supposed international achievements. Unsurprisingly, his speech was packed with the usual dose of delusion.
Of course, before Biden spoke, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, First Lady Jill Biden, and Vice President Harris all spoke briefly. I wonder how hard it was for them all to offer kind words to each other.
But Joe Biden really delivered a masterclass of delusion.
If you were expecting humility or even an honest assessment of the state of the country, you haven’t been paying attention to this presidency.

Call me old-fashioned, but I've always believed that the government's job was to provide basic services like roads and infrastructure and otherwise stay out of the way so people could make their lives better. At the very least, I figured it was the government's job to not make things worse.
That's exactly why I left San Francisco 30 years ago when, as I liked to joke, the state had made it impossible even to take a leak without first filing a CalEPA environmental impact statement. In triplicate, of course. And with a hefty filing fee.
On January 1, life in San Francisco will get that much worse

Failed Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) is trying to gain sympathy after a devastating loss by crying about the struggles of managing bills and responsibilities he faces as the country’s “poorest” vice president candidate that Americans face daily. Walz shed light on how it felt to be the least richest person to run alongside a presidential candidate despite making over $100,000 annually, while most Americans bring in far less than that.
During an interview, Walz said he thought it was a “flex” that he had to “pay bills” like all Americans and appeal to voters because he is “poor.”

Just three “squad” members showed up to the farewells of ousted members who lost their Democratic primaries this year, Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and Cori Bush (D-MO). The two Democrats delivered their outgoing speeches to an empty congressional floor with only fellow squad members Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) being present. [Tweet]
Bowman’s progressive stance on issues is said to be the culprit for his devastating loss. The person who pulled the fire alarm to stall a vote earlier this year has become so unpopular that AOC canceled an appearance she had planned with him on Elected Day.

A "Massachusetts woman on Biden’s clemency list was sentenced for ‘lethal’ fentanyl trafficking conspiracy," according to the Boston Herald. She led a "large-scale criminal enterprise that reaped hundreds of thousands of dollars in profits and caused untold misery."
"Former Dixon Comptroller Rita Crundwell stole $53 million from the little town, a crime so notorious that a documentary was made -- highlighting that she perpetrated the largest case of municipal fraud in American history," reports Politico.
Perhaps most incredibly, the "Cash for Kids" judge in Pennsylvania who wrongly sent dozens of minors to a for-profit prison and got kickbacks for it, was released without any examination of the facts of his case.

You've got to hand it to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry. Their inventiveness and outright fraudulent methods of calculating the number of deaths during the war between Hamas and Israel are deserving of some kind of international recognition.
Sorry, they are already getting plenty of press. Their bogus numbers are reported in the world's leading media outlets as the gospel truth. A few discerning media sources add the note that the ministry is run by Hamas, and even fewer report that the numbers do not differentiate between civilian and military casualties.
The 44,000 dead Palestinians reported by the Gaza Health Ministry is pure, unadulterated propaganda.

During the Christmas season, we focus on the birth of Jesus. Our Christmas carols and Nativity sets put the birth of Baby Jesus at the center of the celebration. It’s great to celebrate His birth because of all the theological implications that go along with it, not to mention the miracle of how He came to earth and flipped the dynamics of this world by arriving in the form of a baby born to lowly parents.
But we can’t forget why Jesus came to earth. He was God incarnate, one person in the Trinity, fully human, yet fully God. He set an example for us, healed people, cast out demons,

A drunk driver who admitted to crashing into and killing a bride on her wedding night has asked a judge to reduce her sentence.
Jamie Lee Komoroski was ordered to spend 25 years behind bars after pleading guilty to causing the death of newlywed Samantha Miller.
Komoroski, 27, plowed into Miller, 34, and her new husband Aric Hutchinson, 37, while the couple were riding on a golf cart following their wedding reception.
At her sentencing, Komoroski said she was 'devastated, deeply ashamed and terribly sorry' for her actions, which also left Hutchinson seriously injured.
She was given 25 years for a reckless homicide charge, 15 years for two DUI involving great bodily injury charges

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is a bureaucracy created out of thin air by socialist Elizabeth Warren. Democrats pretend the bureau is just there to protect consumers which is B.S. Their budget is not controlled by Congress or anyone. They are funded by the Federal Reserve, which is losing hundreds of billions per year. Most of what they do is protecting their own jobs, and they are very highly paid people. The bureau is just another layer of regulators to whom private businesses have to cater.
