23andMe, born from the techno-optimism of the Human Genome Project, revolutionized direct-to-consumer genetic testing. But with its valuation now in freefall, mounting layoffs and its board resigning en masse, 23andMe’s imminent failure raises a critical question: What will happen to the sensitive genetic data of its 15 million customers?
This is not just 23andMe’s reckoning; it’s a warning for the customers of the entire direct-to-customer endeavor, which has long struggled to balance rapid innovation and profits with robust consumer protections. Your DNA — an immutable blueprint of your identity — could be sold, shared with unknown entities or exploited for targeted advertising and product development without your consent.

Iran appears determined to destabilize Jordan, and is thus trying to drag the kingdom into its regional maelstrom by manipulating Jordanian national and terrorist substate entities to do its bidding.
The Islamist threat to the stability of the Kingdom has greatly increased with the fall of its neighbor Syria into the hands of the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, a Sunni Islamist group committed to radicalizing the Levant, which includes Jordan. The Israeli Air Force (IAF), in a recent airstrike, destroyed three cross-border smuggling routes from Syria to Lebanon, which were being used by Iran to bring ship weapons to still-functioning Hezbollah terrorist cells.

A new letter from Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., puts federal health agencies on notice that he plans to subpoena unredacted records withheld by the Biden administration on potential adverse effects of the COVID-19 vaccines.
“It appears that even in the waning days of the Biden administration, your agencies will remain defiant in providing the public with complete information about the COVID-19 vaccines,” writes Johnson, incoming chairman of the Senate’s Permanent Select Subcommittee on Investigations, in the Dec. 5 letter shared with The Daily Signal.

Shaun Golden, the sheriff of Monmouth County, N.J., wants feds to get to the bottom of recent mysterious drone activity in his state.
Local officials, including Golden, are urging Gov. Phil Murphy (D) to declare a state of emergency. We continue to urge our governor to press the federal government to put more … resources out here,” Golden said Thursday on NewsNation’s “Dan Abrams Live.”
“The only way we’re going to solve this is by the federal government coming in here and doing full investigations as to what these things are, how their movements are made,” he added.
The White House insist that the drones do not represent a threat.

I told you here about Pfizer’s abstract of its Interim Report 5, showing at least 23-40% higher risk of some heart-related conditions in the vaccinated, but that the MHRA, the U.K. medicines regulator, was withholding publication of the full report. As I said at the time : “In summary, if, as I suspect, MHRA is worried by the results in Pfizer’s ‘Interim Report 5’ then no wonder it is sitting on it.”
Well, MHRA is still sitting on the report but I’ve managed to obtain a copy. It looks like I was right –

It’s not just that Donald Trump is the once and future president, while Kamala Harris has already shuffled off to the Mike Dukakis Home for Embarrassingly Failed Democratic Candidates, where she can share box wine and catty remarks with Hillary Clinton.
It’s that the entire energy of the nation, and maybe the world, has changed overnight.
From the Daniel Penny exoneration, to the reopening of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris before all the leaders of the West — including Donald Trump, but notably excluding Joe Biden — to the triumphant flights of Starship and a sudden shift in relations with previously difficult neighbor countries like Mexico and Canada,

On Sept. 27, an Inland Empire resident drove away from her job at an area hospital when her pickup truck puttered to a stop. An investigation showed her tank had been drilled and emptied.
A Valero Station in Fremont lost tens of thousands of gallons of diesel to thieves using a device to bypass pump security and transfer fuel into a specially configured pickup truck on July 10.
On July 2, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office charged two men with an alleged fuel theft scheme involving $90,000.00 in diesel fuel thefts.
On March 1, East Bay law enforcement reported a “rash of destructive gas thefts by drilling gas tanks.”

Senators should reject Schumer’s last-minute attempt to pack the NLRB and allow Trump to nominate pro-worker advocates to the open positions.Chuck Schumer recently announced that one of his “highest priorities” is to confirm Joe Biden’s nominees to the National Labor Relations Board before his party loses control of the Senate. He’s slated to make good on that promise on Wednesday, as a cloture vote on an NLRB renomination is scheduled to take place soon.If Schumer secures another five-year term for NLRB Chair Lauren McFerran, Biden nominees will control the Labor Board until at least August 2026. Union elites are begging Schumer to “Trump-proof”

Trump, now the president-elect again after he won a landslide victory against Democrat candidate outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris on Nov. 5, has faced resistance from some pockets of GOP senators. But not from Moreno, who has been one of, if not the first to endorse all of Trump’s cabinet picks for confirmation, and publicly championing Trump’s economic nationalist agenda, including on things like hardcore views on immigration and trade that maybe irk some old guard establishment Republicans.

"Since October 7 [2023], a sort of quiet boycott of Israeli researchers has begun, of the kind that has never been seen before. This boycott is reflected in the cancellation of invitations to joint conferences, the rejection of articles for publication, the rejection of grants to Israeli researchers, and more." — Israel's National Council for Civilian Research and Development, December 2023.
"Antisemitism was always premised on redefining Jewish existence as unnatural and artificial. Jews were being denounced as colonizers as far back as the days of Pharaoh.... The Jews, being Semites, do not belong in Europe. The Jews, being European, do not belong in Israel.

The Catholic Church was founded by a Jew (Jesus) Who inherited the kingship of Israel, and its first pope Peter was a Jew, but the man who is unfortunately occupying the chair of Peter now is so anti-Israel that one of this year’s Vatican Nativities is a Palestinian propaganda piece. Despite the fact that the Muslim so-called Palestinians aggressively persecute Christians and want to wipe Israel off the map, woke Pope Francis has continually expended all of his empathy for Gaza while condemning Israel. The latest example is a Nativity scene at the Vatican, which seems specially designed to be historically inaccurate and insulting to Israel.

It's not a rare thing to see CNN panelists struggle with basic concepts of right and wrong. The fact that Republican strategist Scott Jennings was charitable enough to provide them with a simple chart to explain things is a nice touch. Jennings had to help the latest panel try and figure out why Daniel Penny — who heroically subdued Jordan Neely on a New York City subway train in May, restraining a man with a long rap sheet who had been threatening to kill people — and Luigi Mangione —
