A Texas judge representing a county flipped by Donald Trump in this year's presidential race announced he is leaving the Democratic Party to become a Republican on Tuesday. Trump, who defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in November, made substantial gains this year in South Texas, home to a high Latino population that has traditionally leaned toward voting Democratic. Nationwide, he cut into Democrats' margins in several voting groups -- including among Latino, Asian and young voters -- leaving the Democratic Party questioning how it can regain trust from these communities in upcoming elections.

Have people like the judge really changed their views or are they changing parties for job security? It is important to watch what they do not just what they say or what party they belong to. There are a lot of RINOs.

If the Democrats cannot see why they lost they must be blind. Kamala Harris, illegal immigrants, inflation, Money to Iran, Joe Biden, Lawfare, the list is long and nefarious.

The judge will have to look at and study the Constitution since admittance into the democrat party includes ignoring it.

There are already too many former dems, and rinos and for no small reason. The dems and rinos know people just flat out don't want to pay much attention to what they do when they get in office. That's likely the main reason for this problem to exist since they can make it through any primary without breaking a sweat.

Whichever way the wind blows. Party switchers sound good but they diminish the fabric of the party.

Actually he's a Texas County Judge. They are the powerful elected chief executive officer and administrator of the county. Their judicial duties are limited (but powerful within those limits). They are very influential. They can be a political bellwether for the county.

Apologies if I have posted this before but our little family maid service from Guatemala are all legal and paid some weasel of an immigration attorney all the money they had to get in the right way. They see illegals get hotel rooms, meals and other taxpayer freebies. Everyone one of them voted for Trump because they hated illegals strolling across the border and welcomed in by various NGOs, cities and government agencies with no consequences whatever. The illegals are also sucking up low wage jobs that should be theirs. This is one of the biggest, if not the only reason, they moved toward Trump. Deport the illegals and tell them that if they will self deport, they can apply legally. If they won't, also tell them that they will never be allowed to enter this country legally and build the wall 100 feet higher coast to coast.

President-elect Donald Trump promised to expel migrants to their country of origin by military force — and refused to “do business” with those countries if they refuse to take them in. “I’ll get them into every country, or we won’t do business with those countries,” Trump, 78, said in a lengthy interview with Time magazine published Thursday after being honored as the outlet’s 2024 “Person of the Year.” “I want them out, and the countries have got to take them back, and if they don’t take them back, we won’t do business with those countries, and we will tariff those countries very substantially,” he added.

Donald Trump must move hard and fast to get his agenda enacted. He’s going to be opposed not only by the bureaucrats of the Deep State but by, to some extent, the courts, congressional Democrats, and soft Republicans. Fortunately, President Trump, as chief executive – the unitary executive – has tremendous authority. He and his appointees, as well as Republicans in Congress, must use it. They will feel considerable pressure to be soft and weak, not only from the regime media but from the spineless establishmentarians. They must reject it, and fully exercise the power the American people have granted them.

There are lots of mostly bad things that President Joe Biden can justly take credit for, but the fall of Syria is not one of them. Biden provided Iran with sanctions relief and bailed out Hezbollah just as it was on the verge of defeat. He's trying to take credit for other people's victories while pretending that this was a desired outcome, rather than Turkey taking the initiative and exploiting a weakened Hezbollah. Those poor souls are now shaving their heads and denying men sex to punish them for voting for the allegedly misogynous Donald J. Trump. Another group of pathetic females are having themselves sterilized to punish the nonexistent men they believe, plan to impregnate them. The TikTok videos of these narcissistic lemmings screaming in anguish after the election and the GOP’s triumph, would be amusing except for the fact that these are people suffering real pain unnecessarily.

NBC’s Kristen Welker asked President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday if he still planned to end birthright citizenship. Trump affirmed his plans. But the way Welker deliberately misrepresented the amendment reveals not only a glaring need for clarification from Congress or the Supreme Court about whether children born to illegal aliens are citizens but the dangers of a press who are willing to craft law by word of mouth. “You promised to end birthright citizenship on day one,” Welker said. “Is that still your plan?”

Eager to preserve President-elect Donald Trump ’s hush money conviction even as he returns to office, prosecutors are suggesting various ways forward — including one based on how some courts handle criminal cases when defendants die. Trump’s spokesperson called the ideas “pathetic.” In court papers made public on Tuesday, the Manhattan district attorney’s office proposed an array of options for keeping the historic conviction on the books. The proposals include freezing the case until Trump is out of office, or agreeing that any future sentence wouldn’t include jail time. Another idea:

It's easy to look at the rapid fall of Syria's odious Assad regime and conclude that its dynastic ruler, Bashar al-Assad — flying off to safety in Moscow while Turkish rebels stormed his palace and freed his political prisoners — was the big loser. It would be easy, and it would be wrong. Before we get to the big losers, the big winner (as I wrote last week) could prove to be Turkey's Recep Erdoğan. The HTS rebels who stormed Damascus on Saturday are designated as a terrorist group by Ankara, but Erdoğan has also given them unofficial support.

Illegal immigration, it’s clear, was one of the key factors in Donald Trump’s sweeping win over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Americans expect action from the White House, including using the military to deport those who are here illegally, according to the latest I&I/TIPP Poll data. Some 1,411 adult voters were asked the following question: “How important is it for Trump to quickly find and deport illegal immigrants with criminal records?” Possible responses included “very important,” “somewhat important,” “not very important,” “not at all important,” and “not sure. The national online poll, taken from Nov. 27-29, has a margin of error of +/-2.6 percentage points.

If your third-grader is competing in the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee, good news: “W-O-M-Y-N” is now an acceptable spelling of “women.” (What a time to be alive!) In fact, “W-O-M-Y-N” is explicitly listed on the National Spelling Bee’s list of 50 “study words” that’s distributed to third-graders. Nobody knows when spoken language began, but written language developed independently in Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, and Mesoamerica. Presumably, shortly after the emergence of writing, was the emergence of the crotchety, ornery, spinster schoolteacher who’d shame you before the class when you misspelled a word. And now, the proper spelling of women is “W-O-M-Y-N.”
