Mark Zuckerberg's Meta has donated a staggering $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump's inaugural fund.
The deal was reportedly agreed last month when the Facebook boss had a surprise dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, which has become the hub for his fledgling administration.
The meeting did caused shock after Trump's angry stance against Facebook and claims that Zuckerberg should be in prison. However, it seems the pair have put their differences aside as the Meta CEO has promised a large paycheck, according to the Wall Street Journal. t's also claimed Zuckerberg gave a demonstration on the company's latest invention, Ray Ban Smart Glasses, then gave them as a gift to Trump.

President of Argentina Javier Milei announced Wednesday that his administration is preparing a structural tax reform that will eliminate 90 percent of existing taxes in 2025.
Milei announced the plan, alongside other policies he seeks to implement in his second year in office, while marking the end of his first. Among them was a plan to negotiate a trade deal with President-elect Donald Trump’s administration once he takes office in January.
Tuesday marked one year since Milei took office on December 10, 2023, and became Argentina’s first libertarian president, succeeding socialist former President Alberto Fernández. At the time he took office, Argentina faced a severe

Argentina's fiscal deficit has been a persistent challenge for its economy, driven by structural inefficiencies, spending, and limited revenue generation. As a result, the government must borrow or print money to finance the gap, fueling sky-high inflation and undermining its economic stability. However, for the first time in 123 years, President Javier Milei ended the country’s deficit in just one year of his presidency. When Milei took office on December 10, 2023, he promised to take a “chainsaw” to the nation’s economy— and that he did.
“The deficit was the root of all our evils—without it, there’s no debt, no emission, no inflation,” Milei said.

If reports are true, it looks like the targeted killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York last week was politically motivated. The alleged shooter, Luigi Mangione, a former Ivy Leaguer from an affluent family, was reportedly caught with some kind of manifesto.
Even before we knew who the shooter was, however, the reaction from far too many leftists was to either justify, celebrate, or rationalize the shooting. There’s a real debate going on in some quarters of the progressive Left over whether slaying CEOs is a bad thing. And it’s unsurprising.
Of course, if any MAGA professors or journalists were online publicly defending

I agree. It’s not just that Donald Trump is the once and future president, while Kamala Harris has already shuffled off to the Mike Dukakis Home for Embarrassingly Failed Democratic Candidates, where she can share box wine and catty remarks with Hillary Clinton.
It’s that the entire energy of the nation, and maybe the world, has changed overnight.

Senators Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and Joe Manchin (I-WV), both former Democrats who were savaged by their own party for not eliminating the filibuster, left President Joe Biden one final parting gift on Wednesday.
Biden nominated Lauren McFerran to a five-year term on the National Labor Relations Board, which is essentially a federal agency dedicated to protecting big unions, and her confirmation was set to hand Democrats control of the body for the entirety of President-elect Donald Trump's second term. San Diego County is set to introduce 'radical' new sanctuary laws to avoid cooperation with ICE and other federal immigration authorities.
The laws are seen as direct defiance toward Donald Trump and his border czar, Tom Homan, who has singled out San Diego for its massive illegal migrant problems amid plans of mass deportation.
However, the San Diego sheriff on Tuesday defied a new policy to limit cooperation.
San Diego County supervisors voted to prohibit its sheriff's department from working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on the federal agency's enforcement of civil immigration laws, including those that allow for deportations.

Their newest strategy is to focus on pressuring local organizations, state agencies, and state commissions to change rules and laws, thereby effecting change on the local level where conservationists may be unsuspecting.

This is my final column for The New York Times, where I began publishing my opinions in January 2000. I’m retiring from The Times, not the world, so I’ll still be expressing my views in other places. But this does seem like a good occasion to reflect on what has changed over these past 25 years.
What strikes me, looking back, is how optimistic many people, both here and in much of the Western world, were back then and the extent to which that optimism has been replaced by anger and resentment. And I’m not just talking about members of the working class who feel betrayed by elites;

We've known for years that the number of migrants entering the U.S. during Joe Biden's term was massive. New York Times reporters worked with government officials and outside experts to "analyze the magnitude of the recent immigration surge in the United States."
The results are nothing short of mind-blowing.
"The immigration surge since 2021 has been the largest in U.S. history, surpassing even the levels of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Total net migration — the number of people coming to the country minus the number leaving — will likely exceed eight million people over the past four years, government statistics suggest.

How thin is the line between hero and vigilante? It is razor thin, as the trial of Daniel Penny has shown.
Penny is a white, former Marine who put Jordan Neely, a Black man, in a six-minute choke hold in the New York subway in May 2023. Neely died after the incident, and prosecutors charged Penny with killing him. On Monday, a jury acquitted Penny of criminally negligent homicide. A second-degree manslaughter charge against Penny was tossed out Friday after the jury couldn't reach a verdict.
Reports on the deadly incident seemed to divide Americans over racial issues: privileged white man versus homeless Black man.

After being specifically appointed to focus on the Arizona republican votes, and only to focus on Arizona for 2024, Mrs Dhillon lost every legal election challenge and close ballot contest in the state. Luigi Mangione allegedly considered bombing Manhattan as he planned out his attack on UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Mangione, 26, appeared in court on Tuesday, fighting against extradition to New York - where he is charged with second-degree murder after Thompson, 50, was slain.
The former Ivy League student had been apprehended at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania on Monday, when he was found with a 3D-printed pistol and black silencer, as well as a manifesto condemning the American healthcare system.

Fox News host Dana Perino has predicted Donald Trump will make a major land 'purchase' during his second term in office after he goaded about Canada becoming a state.
The President elect referred to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the 'governor' of the 'state' of Canada following discussions about trade on Tuesday.
Trump posted on his Truth Social account: 'It was a pleasure to have dinner the other night with Governor Justin Trudeau of the Great State of Canada.
'I look forward to seeing the Governor again soon so that we may continue our in depth talks on Tariffs and Trade, the results of which will be truly spectacular for all!'

Trump, now the president-elect again after he won a landslide victory against Democrat candidate outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris on Nov. 5, has faced resistance from some pockets of GOP senators. But not from Moreno, who has been one of, if not the first to endorse all of Trump’s cabinet picks for confirmation, and publicly championing Trump’s economic nationalist agenda, including on things like hardcore views on immigration and trade that maybe irk some old guard establishment Republicans.

"Since October 7 [2023], a sort of quiet boycott of Israeli researchers has begun, of the kind that has never been seen before. This boycott is reflected in the cancellation of invitations to joint conferences, the rejection of articles for publication, the rejection of grants to Israeli researchers, and more." — Israel's National Council for Civilian Research and Development, December 2023.
"Antisemitism was always premised on redefining Jewish existence as unnatural and artificial. Jews were being denounced as colonizers as far back as the days of Pharaoh.... The Jews, being Semites, do not belong in Europe. The Jews, being European, do not belong in Israel.

Climate scientists recently discovered that they’ve been underestimating the impact of a particular organic compound in the atmosphere, and the oversight’s significance is so profound that it’s left existing climate models completely obsolete. As Jo Nova writes, “This is so big, it may change the sacred ‘climate sensitivity’ of the whole Earth”.
Isoprene is what’s known as a volatile organic compound, or a VOC, and “has a recognized role in protecting plants against many abiotic stresses” like “heat stress…drought…[and] oxidative stress” with trees being the greatest emitters. (When the chemical isoprene interacts with other compounds in the atmosphere, the products are a number of secondary organic aerosols.)

Kentanji Brown Jackson may not know what a woman is, but she knows what it is to go to bed one night as just an ordinary Supreme Court justice and to wake up the next day as a Broadway star. Yup, she’s hitting the Great White Way (or, maybe, in her case, the Great Black Way) to fulfill a childhood dream: taking a turn in a Broadway musical.
Interestingly, the particular musical she’s chosen, “& Juliet,” is a tawdry pro-transgender show. I think we can now guess how Jackson will vote on Tennessee’s “no ‘gender-affirming’ care on minors” law.

During the last campaign, former President Obama called on African American men to vote for the African American female candidate. It didn't work, and you know the rest of the story.
The thrill is gone for the 44th president. He will be remembered, and that's good, for being the first African American president. He won't be remembered for much more because he was always an empty suit, a media creation, and don't get me started on ObamaCare.
What happened? Well, Roger Kimball has a point: Yes, glad to see that it's starting to fade.

It was a pleasant surprise to find that there are more, smart, educated women than the supposed number of fools that the mainstream media predicted would turn out to vote for Kamala Harris.
Those poor souls are now shaving their heads and denying men sex to punish them for voting for the allegedly misogynous Donald J. Trump. Another group of pathetic females are having themselves sterilized to punish the nonexistent men they believe, plan to impregnate them. The TikTok videos of these narcissistic lemmings screaming in anguish after the election and the GOP’s triumph, would be amusing except for the fact that these are people suffering real pain unnecessarily.

A bankruptcy judge on Tuesday rejected a bid by The Onion’s parent company to buy Alex Jones’ far-right media empire, including the website Infowars, ruling that the auction process was unfair.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez said after a two-day hearing that The Onion’s parent company, Global Tetrahedron, had not submitted the best bid and was wrongly named the winner of an auction last month by a court-appointed trustee. “I don’t think it’s enough money,” Lopez said in a late-night ruling from the bench in a Houston court. “I’m going to not approve the sale.”
It was not immediately clear whether there would be a new auction

There are certain behaviors we should not tolerate from government officials, elected, appointed, or hired. We shouldn't tolerate any kind of criminal activity or graft. And we shouldn't tolerate petulant displays of childish pique.
That last bit is precisely what we saw during a House Oversight Committee hearing on Tuesday when Postmaster General Louis DeJoy threw a tantrum (Snip) DeJoy told McCormick, “You’re talking to yourself” before covering his ears.
What is this guy, 12 years old? I wouldn't have put up with this from my kids when they were three. Why should we put up with this from the United States Postmaster?

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has been one of the leading voices calling for protections for women and their private spaces. She recently introduced legislation to ban biological males from using women's bathrooms and locker rooms on Capitol Hill and on federal land nationwide.
She's calling the new bill, which she plans to introduce tonight, the "Protecting Women's Private Spaces Act." The goal? "To prohibit individuals from accessing or using single-sex facilities on federal property other than those corresponding to their biological sex, and for other purposes."
As a result of her efforts, she was on the receiving end of countless threats made against her and her staff. One trans activist
