Postmaster General Has Meltdown, Throws
Tantrum in Congressional Hearing

There are certain behaviors we should not tolerate from government officials, elected, appointed, or hired. We shouldn't tolerate any kind of criminal activity or graft. And we shouldn't tolerate petulant displays of childish pique. That last bit is precisely what we saw during a House Oversight Committee hearing on Tuesday when Postmaster General Louis DeJoy threw a tantrum (Snip) DeJoy told McCormick, “You’re talking to yourself” before covering his ears. What is this guy, 12 years old? I wouldn't have put up with this from my kids when they were three. Why should we put up with this from the United States Postmaster?

Comments:

Video included. What an absolute toddler!! I'm only surprised that he didn't complete his tantrum by singing, "Im not listening! La la la la la la!!" His butt needs to be canned ASAP!!

Hate tp say it, but I believe Mr. DeJoy was appointed in the precious Trump administration, Let's hope those failures are not repeated this time.

Postal service in our area is awful. A great amount of business has been shifted away from the postal service. Recently, postal employees were caught stealing small business checks. It takes longer for a letter to arrive. Postal pickup is so awful, people have to take their outgoing to the post office. It has gotten so bad that I wonder if the postal service will go to self delivery.

I'm praying the post office is on the DOGE list, should of been privatized 30 years ago. This guy gives you a look of why your mail is screwed up. My little town actually started a facebook page for missing mail & packages. Deliveries are so screwed up here and I don't believe we are the only ones.

Stamp prices continue to rise while service continues to decline. In our area, no one puts mail in mailboxes, as too many pieces of mail have been stolen out of them.

Who sends a letter nowadays when you can send an email? Who sends a package when you can send it Fedex / UPS in addition to the USPS. Most mail received are advertisements and some legally required mail. Bills are paid on-line for the most part. Amazon will sometimes use USPS for delivery, but mostly they use their own trucks, sometimes either Fedex / UPS. The USPS is suffering from modernity. The Postmaster Generals attitude before Congress is petulant to say the least.

" blamed the loss on inflation raising costs for its operations. It also sent printing prices surging, which significantly reduced the amount of junk mail marketers sent via the mail." Leadership of the Post Office shows no understanding or vision considering its future. The two things that happened were predictable and CAUSED by the Federal government's deficit spending, which sent the whole country into an inflationary upward spiral yielding prices that are 30% higher than they were 4 years ago. Mr. DeJoy probably failed to see this VERY LARGE train coming because he had his ears covered and eyes closed. The PO needs to be significantly reworked and futurized. Unsustainable services should be dropped or transitioned to partnerships with other delivery services. Efficiency studies need to be brutally carried out and implemented. DeJoy is obviously NOT the person to do this.

The US Postal Service should be severely trimmed to first class mail only and two days a week delivery. They should not handle parcels. The staff could be cut by about 70% and many offices replaced by vending machines saving taxpayers billions of dollars.

Here in Virginia, we are finally not ranked 50th in on-time delivery. The state hasn't moved up much though and delivery is still awful. There is one thing many people may not realize about why the P.O. is losing so much money despite postage rates rising so often. Counterfeit stamps from overseas are being sold through online ads for about half the price of stamps sold by the P.O. The P.O. does not ever reduce the price of its stamps so if you are buying stamps for less than full price online, you are buying counterfeit stamps. The P.O. has some way of checking for counterfeit stamps now and if mail is discovered to have counterfeit stamps, it is just discarded. If your mail does not reach its destination and you do not have it returned to you, too bad. That's the chance you take when you think the P.O. ought to deliver your mail for free. Feel free to google "Counterfeit stamps - U.S. Post Office" and read some of the many articles from a few years ago when it was first discovered that so many counterfeit stamps were being used. DeJoy was acting childish and it should not be tolerated. He is not totally responsible for the mess the P.O. is in today however. Mail service has been terrible for many, many years.

We've known for years that the number of migrants entering the U.S. during Joe Biden's term was massive. New York Times reporters worked with government officials and outside experts to "analyze the magnitude of the recent immigration surge in the United States." The results are nothing short of mind-blowing. "The immigration surge since 2021 has been the largest in U.S. history, surpassing even the levels of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Total net migration — the number of people coming to the country minus the number leaving — will likely exceed eight million people over the past four years, government statistics suggest.

I love movies – there’s nothing like them for escapism and entertainment – but Hollywood is something else entirely. It is an orgy or narcissism and rape; casting couch feminists and private jet environmentalists. The extremely wealthy who set up “charities” named after themselves to filter income through to avoid paying the taxes they advocate should be raised on everyone else. They are largely hypocrites and just plain bad people. They are also destroying themselves, which is something worth noting and celebrating. Box office numbers and high-profile flops like the Joker sequel (did anyone need or want that?) are some prime examples of just how far down the toilet Hollywood has slipped.

As Jo Nova writes, “This is so big, it may change the sacred ‘climate sensitivity’ of the whole Earth”. Isoprene is what’s known as a volatile organic compound, or a VOC, and “has a recognized role in protecting plants against many abiotic stresses” like “heat stress…drought…[and] oxidative stress” with trees being the greatest emitters. (When the chemical isoprene interacts with other compounds in the atmosphere, the products are a number of secondary organic aerosols.)
