First Lady Jill Biden may have convinced President Biden to pardon his disgraced son, Hunter Biden, according to a report.
“Clearly there was pressure inside the family,” Jeff Zeleny, CNN’s chief national affairs correspondent, said during an appearance on the network Monday.
“We were told really in recent weeks that Dr. Jill Biden – first lady Jill Biden – was very supportive of the president doing something like this,” he added. (Photo) Zeleny claims Biden, 82, “was not sure” about the pardon, suggesting that the 73-year-old first lady’s push may have been the deciding factor.

They have literally learned nothing. Nothing.
The establishment media are at it again, now openly attacking President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks with salacious and unverified misinformation in an apparent campaign they are waging to try to sink the president-elect’s incoming administration. Meanwhile, the sitting and outgoing President of the United States, Joe Biden, just issued what amounts to one of the most controversial pardons in American history on Sunday evening when he pardoned his son, Hunter Biden. Biden’s complete and unconditional pardon of his son spans more than a decade and is more expansive than Gerald Ford’s pardon of Richard Nixon after the Watergate scandal.

There's been plenty of chatter in recent months about the sale of U.S. steel by Nippon Steel, Japan's largest steelmaker. While there are conservatives in favor of such a deal, President-elect Donald Trump made clear on Monday night that he is not a fan. In a Truth Social post that evening, he stressed that he is not only opposed, but that he will block such a deal."I am totally against the once great and powerful U.S. Steel being bought by a foreign company, in this case Nippon Steel of Japan," he shared. Trump continued by addressing how he will fix U.S. steel, which includes through tariffs.

President-elect Donald Trump reportedly joked to Canadian PM Justin Trudeau that if tariffs are a threat to collapse his country's economy, then maybe Canada "should become the 51st state." The news comes from Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy, who spoke with two people who were at the dinner table when Trudeau traveled to Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida, to discuss the proposal.
Trump last week announced a 25 percent tariff on all imports from Canada and Mexico, citing the scourge of illegal immigration and the humanitarian crisis involving the flow of fentanyl into the United States.

I don’t know what Donald Trump would say has been his greatest-ever Thanksgiving holiday, but it’s hard to imagine any quite beating the one he just celebrated.
He’s just pulled off the greatest comeback in American political history.
He survived two assassination attempts. (Photo) He saw off a disgracefully brazen and concerted campaign to politically weaponize the justice system against a US president.
And just when he thought things couldn’t get any better, his former opponent, President Biden, has revealed himself to be a shameful, lying hypocrite by pardoning his criminal son, Hunter. No wonder Trump is looking and behaving like the cat who got the creamiest of cream.

Charlamagne tha God had a simple message for Democrats after President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter this weekend: admit you don't have the moral high ground.
The radio host, 46, whose real name is Lenard Larry McKelvey, supported Kamala Harris for president over Donald Trump. But that didn't stop him from raking his preferred party over the coals.

Hunter Biden allegedly stiffed two Venice landlords for a total of more than $380,000 in rent, sources close to the property owners claim.
DailyMail.com revealed last year that Hunter owed Sweetgreen CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman $80,000 in back rent after leaving his Venice rental property trashed, according to sources briefed on the dispute.
And now Shaun Maguire, a partner at San Francisco investment giant Sequoia, has come forward claiming Hunter also owes him at least $300,000 after failing to pay rent 'for over a year' in 2019 and 2020.

Generally speaking, there are two approaches to business. The first is to follow the maxim “the customer is always right”, listen to the market and sell things that people want to buy. The alternative, bolder prospectus – followed by Italian waiters and a range of Western companies – is to adopt the idea that the customer is completely wrong and needs to be better educated about coffee and social justice, respectively.

The movie spanned many decades and briefly touched upon the fact that American hostages in Iran were freed almost the moment Ronald Reagan took the oath of office on January 20, 1981. Recall that in April of 1980, the Carter administration launched a failed rescue operation to rescue the hostages. "Equipment failure" was blamed after two U.S. aircraft "collided on the ground in a remote desert location in Iran." In the end, there was "no fighting & no combat" but

President Biden's decision to use his presidential powers on Sunday to pardon his own son will be a decision that lives in infamy in presidential politics. It is not just that the president used his constitutional powers to benefit his family. It is because the action culminates years of lying to the public about his knowledge and intentions in the influence-peddling scandal surrounding his family. Even among past controversies about the use of this pardon power, Biden has cemented his legacy for many, not as the commander in chief, but as the liar in chief.

What little was left of Joe Biden's legacy is in tatters.
Having promised the American people repeatedly, and for months, that he wouldn't do it – well, on Sunday night, President Biden announced that he had pardoned his son Hunter, for crimes committed as well as any future charges.
Future charges! Well, well, well.Hunter, we know, earned millions sitting on boards he wasn't qualified for, introduced shady businessmen to his father, frequented sex workers, and pled guilty to lying about his active drug addiction when purchasing a firearm, as well as tax evasion — owing the IRS $1.4 million, yet spending millions more on drugs, hookers, five-star hotels and a sex-club membership.

Yep, on today's episode of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," our favorite cartoon, co-host Joe Scarborough and his equally fun co-host and wife, Mika Brzezinski, refused to cover President Joe Biden's sweeping pardon of his son, Hunter Biden, as either of the show's top two stories. The dynamic duo, along with their guests, instead chose to first whine about President-elect Donald Trump's nominations of Kash Patel as incoming FBI Director and Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense.
Then, 52 minutes into the show, Scarborough finally "reported" on the pardon, offering zero commentary as the panel discussed the beyond-controversial decision by the lame-duck president.

The more I think about Joe Biden's pardon of his bagman/tax-cheat son, Hunter, the angrier I get — but maybe not for the reason you think.
As I'm sure you're well aware by now, père Biden's blanket pardon forgives all of Hunter's transgressions going back ten years, when father (then vice president) and son were both playing footsie with Vladimir Putin's old cronies in Kyiv. Burisma? Pardoned. Million-dollar tax evasion? Ditto. Gun offenses, all of it.
Then there's the Big Lie because it isn't Joe Biden without one.

They say crime doesn’t pay, and in the case of Hunter Biden, one could certainly say that the criminal doesn’t pay. A man to whom Hunter reportedly owes over $300,000 is not exactly thrilled at Hunter‘s blanket pardon from his senile father.
Despite ample evidence of sexual crimes (including potential sex trafficking and pedophilia), tax evasion, illegal possession of a firearm, and participating in his father‘s illicit foreign influence/money laundering, Hunter Biden has received a pardon from Old Joe, who thereby breaks his promise

Late Sunday night and as one of his final acts, President Joe Biden officially pardoned his son, Hunter Biden. The younger Biden's crimes, which were conducted on behalf of the entire family, were broadly wiped away. In fact, the pardon spans from 2014-2024. For years President Biden publicly claimed he wouldn't pardon his son, a point that was often reiterated by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre. And yet, the deed is done and now Democrats are at each others throats over the move.

WASHINGTON — White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly claimed Monday that President Biden pardoned his son Hunter because “war politics” prompted Hunter’s prosecution on gun and tax fraud charges — while insisting the Justice Department is not broadly politically biased, as President-elect Donald Trump claims.
Jean-Pierre fielded fiery questions aboard Air Force One from journalists as Biden, 82, flew to Angola for an official visit following the Sunday night pardon.
“The president took an action because of how politically infected these cases were,” Jean-Pierre told incredulous members of the press pool.

As the un-American left lays the groundwork for undoing President Trump’s second-term policy goals, one of the areas in which Trump’s enemies expect to have an easy target is trade policy.
Since conservatives believe in free markets (leftists do not), conservatives have generally espoused the idea that taxes are bad. We go farther than that, in our rhetoric, in fact; we often say, “Taxation is theft.”

Canada sends 75% of all goods and services exports to the United States and tariffs would badly hurt the economy. Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc, who sat at the head table with Trudeau and Trump, said the two men discussed additional security measures Canada would be introducing.

Offering to negotiate with Islamic terrorists is a statement of weakness. Jihadists only offer to negotiate out of fear, weakness or to entrap us, and they assume we do the same thing. Nothing would ever convince them that we genuinely want to live in peace with them, or that we prefer alternatives to violence. So any time we offer to negotiate, they see it as weakness or a trick.
If our diplomats ever understood this cultural reality, they would stop being baffled when the negotiations fall apart.

Last night, Donald Trump announced that he was nominating Kash Patel to serve as FBI director. Every person in America who believes in liberty and honest government should be celebrating that announcement.
The Obama and Biden administrations were responsible for so many pernicious policies that it’s a bit hard to keep track. However, one can easily argue that the worst thing that happened during their two presidencies was that they transformed the FBI from a law enforcement agency into the police arm of the Democrat party, which they then weaponized against ordinary Americans who hadn’t broken the law but who had opposed Democrats.

It happened. It was almost as predictable as Saquon Barkley having a monster year for the Philadelphia Eagles: Outgoing President Joe Biden decided to pardon his son, Hunter. The crack-cocaine-addicted influence peddler was given a massive blanket pardon—he is now forgiven of any crime he committed between 2014 and 2024. Two things happened with this pardon: Democrats can’t talk about gun control anymore, and this is a classic example of what happens when one side tries to seize on and monopolize a moral superiority. No American voter expects their leaders or elected officials to be ethical leaders.

Americans overall have a very favorable response to President-elect Donald Trump’s picks to staff his new administration, but they still appear to be in wait-and-see mode when it comes to some of Trump’s selections to help lead his White House. And it’s very much a political thing, the latest I&I/TIPP shows.
In the latest online national I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from Nov. 27 -29, 1,411 adult registered voters were asked the following short question: “Do you approve or disapprove of Donald Trump’s handling of his presidential transition?”
Despite the the irregular and at times bitter 2024 presidential election, a solid majority of 54% said they either “approve strongly” (30%) or “approve somewhat”

America is about to go to war over whether the government has the power to deport entire families of illegal aliens. That question involves “birthright citizenship”—that is, whether a child born in the U.S. to illegal alien parents is automatically a U.S. citizen and, thus, an “anchor baby?”
The answer, by any fair reading of the Constitution and history, is “No.”
Our nation must have complete control of our borders. No illegal alien should be able to circumvent the laws of our nation. English common law, the basis for U.S. law, did not allow such people, the children of “hostile occupiers,” to become citizens by virtue of birth.

We always knew Joe Biden would pardon his troubled son Hunter, no matter how many times he promised he wouldn’t.
So it is fitting that one of the final acts of this mendacious president before leaving office was to break yet another promise to the American people.
Thus on Sunday night, the president issued a statement from the White House declaring that he had just signed a “Full and Unconditional Pardon” for Robert Hunter Biden, 54.
The pardon Joe vowed he would never give comes just days before Hunter was due to be sentenced over a felony gun conviction in Delaware in June and California felony tax-

Over at Quillette our friend Heather Mac Donald is having fun with academic David W. Blight of Yale and his piece in the New York Times:
Academia must grapple with its blind spots, he argues, in order to understand why blue-collar workers voted for an “authoritarian in a red tie” in the recent US presidential election.
But Blight, “a scholar of American race relations and the Civil War,” believes “that MAGA enthusiasts are the ‘equivalent of the 1850s Slave Power who seek to spread a ‘deadly poison’ of authoritarianism throughout the body politic.”
He should know. Blight is the author of a 350-page report on “Yale and Slavery.”

New York—Nearly a month after a devastating election loss that exposed cracks in the very foundation of their party, Democrats remain deeply divided over the extent of their political problem — or even if they have one.
A number of Democratic leaders are downplaying the strength of Donald Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris as the inevitable result of an inflation-fueled anti-incumbent backlash that shaped elections worldwide. But others are convinced that the Democratic Party is facing an acute crisis that requires an urgent overhaul of its brand, message and economic policies.
Trump swept every battleground state on Nov. 5, becoming the first Republican candidate to

As we reported, President Joe Biden pardoned First Son Hunter Sunday night and basically absolved him of all crimes committed between “January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024,” in effect letting him not only get off scot-free for the gun charges he was convicted of and the tax evasion charges he pleaded guilty to but any shady international deals he allegedly illicitly profited from with China and Ukrainian gas giant Burisma. The move came after Hunter’s lawyers released a 52-page public statement Sunday that read like a “Dear Dad, please help me out, I screwed up” letter.
Now, President-elect Donald Trump is weighing in, and he’s not impressed.

After President-elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory, the mainstream media have turned their attention to trying to take down his cabinet picks, recently focusing their sights on Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth.
Breitbart News has learned the New Yorker is preparing to publish a massive hit piece on Hegseth, using decade-old allegations made by a jealous former coworker that is now being recirculated to media as he prepares for Senate confirmation. The allegations are from 2014, and were made by a former female associate who was fired from an organization she worked at with Hegseth, the conservative veterans-advocacy group Concerned Veterans for America (CVA).

Hunter Biden struck a note of contrition and promised to help those 'sick and suffering' in a statement after his father Joe gave him a presidential pardon.
The elder Biden made the shock announcement Sunday night that he would issue a presidential pardon for his troubled son, calling his prosecution 'selective' and 'unfair.'
Hunter released a statement of his own - in which he does not directly mention his father - after the decision came down, credited to his full name, 'Robert Hunter Biden.'

Neocon warmonger John Bolton had strong words for President Trump’s excellent pick of Kash Patel to head the FBI.
Bolton appears to still be bitter after President Trump fired him from his position as National Security Advisor in 2019.
Trump said at the time he “disagreed strongly” with many of Bolton’s suggestions.
“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning.

President-elect Donald Trump hinted at mass pardons for defendants tied to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot – with his team vowing he would also overhaul the “Democrat-controlled” Department of Justice — a little more than an hour after President Biden pardoned his son Hunter Sunday night.
“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!” Trump posted on Truth Social. (Photo) The 45th president, who won back the White House last month, floated pardons during his campaign for the thousands of defendants either still facing trials or those already convicted for breaching

Former prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks, one of the prosecutors during the Watergate scandal, said Sunday on MSNBC’s “Prime” that she was “thrilled” President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden.
Host Jonathan Capehart said, “Your reactions to President Biden pardoning his son?”
Wine-Banks said, “I’m relieved and thrilled that he did it, this was one of the cases that called out clemency. Hunter Biden first of all would not ever be prosecuted for the gun crime, but for his last name. Second of all, he was addicted and that was a cause of his actions, he has now been sober

President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter despite the White House saying over and over he would not do it.
The pardon includes charges Hunter faced or might have faced from January 1, 2014, through December 1, 2024.
Yes, ten years. Absolute insanity. That means anything else that pops up in that time period doesn’t count. Hunter cannot face any charges. Hunter pleaded guilty to tax evasion. He was going to face sentencing on December 16 for lying on a federal form by saying he was not using drugs or addicted to drugs when trying to buy a gun.

Of all the nominations made by incoming President Donald Trump, few are more important than naming Kash Patel to lead the FBI. The bureau has become a den of corruption focused on protecting itself and the Democratic Party. From targeting parents at school board meetings to raiding Mar-a-Lago, an overhaul is needed, and accountability must be brought to those who weaponized the agency.
Patel, who is more than qualified for the position, is just the man to accomplish that. He was instrumental in uncovering the Russian collusion hoax and will not pull any punches to "protect the shield." Naturally, that's making all the right people upset.

Why won’t this man just go away?
Former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), chief medical advisor to the president, and face of the U.S. disastrous COVID response Dr. Anthony Fauci still refuses to leave the stage. His latest paper, "HIV/AIDS and COVID-19: Shared Lessons from Two Pandemics," published November 27 and written with researcher Gregory Folkers, is full of debunked claims and avoidance of his own accountability for the harmful mistakes made by the government when the pandemic hit.

Democrat fundraisers are ticked off after Vice President Kamala Harris (D) lost the election to Donald Trump, according to veteran Democrat strategist James Carville.
During Thursday’s episode of “Politics War Room,” Carville criticized Harris’s campaign, saying, “The resistance is going to have trouble raising money. These fundraisers are burnt,” the Hill reported Saturday.
“They’re really p* now, and the damage that the 2024 campaign has done, the damage that this decade has done to the Democratic brand is almost unfathomable, almost unfathomable,” he continued:

President Joe Biden allowed himself to cover up his own apparent role in his son Hunter’s influence peddling by issuing a pardon Sunday evening that extended back through 2014, including Hunter’s corrupt role in Ukraine. While President Biden focused on his son’s conviction for gun crimes, and his son responded with a statement about addiction, the reality is that the pardon covers more serious conduct: selling U.S. foreign policy for monetary gain.
The pardon covers actions between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024. Hunter Biden’s appointment to the board of the corrupt Ukrainian gas company Burisma was announced in May 2014.

President Joe Biden lied for years about whether he would pardon his son, Hunter Biden, for his crimes — even telling David Muir of ABC News in an exclusive interview in Normandy, France, in June that he had “ruled out” a pardon.
As ABC News reported at the time:
President Joe Biden said he would not pardon his son Hunter amid an ongoing felony gun trial during a wide-ranging exclusive interview with ABC News anchor David Muir at the Normandy American Cemetery on the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Muir asked Biden on Thursday if he would accept the outcome of his son’s trial in Wilmington, Delaware, to which the president said, “Yes.

Three weeks after the election and the fallout from it, we are starting to appreciate the clarity of the vote. It explains much of the present, the past, and the future. Consider the following: 1. Even Donald Trump’s enemies are beginning, albeit sheepishly and begrudgingly, to concede he proved indestructible in a way they never imagined. [Snip]
...there is increased anxiety about the safety of Donald Trump. The post-election Left is so unhinged, so crazy and the Secret Service is so suspect in its incompetence, that the nation is rightly worried about Trump’s security, who is increasingly seen as the last great hope to stop the madness.

President Joe Biden spent his final days in office rolling out a full and complete pardon of his criminal son, Hunter Biden.
“I will not pardon him,” Joe Biden said in June after a jury found him guilty on three federal gun charges.
NBC News reported on the pardon:
The decision marks a reversal for the president, who has repeatedly said he would not use his executive authority to pardon his son or commute his sentence. The pardon comes ahead of Hunter Biden’s Dec. 12 sentencing for his conviction on federal gun charges. [snip] after pleading guilty in September on federal tax evasion charges.
